So in short, we left hungry, ignored and annoyed after 50 minutes of waiting for a shaved ribeye sandwich (the special) and a grilled cheese sandwich. Let me start by saying Im not from around here. Because Ive lived in this area for only a few years, I still never know exactly when to invoke my northerner impatience at the lack of efficiency and when to chill and let it go. Ive been learning patience. But how long should one wait for a shaved ribeye sandwich with fries and a grilled cheese with cucumber salad? The place was not terribly busy when we arrived at 11:23 (according to Google timeline - thanks Google!), and it wasnt our first time here. We come here because the food is good and service is usually good. Too good sometimes. Were often overly informed at the status of our order from the kitchen with apologies from the waitstaff if they think its taking too long. Not so this time. We ordered and then sat back and waited, read our news and Twitter feeds, checked the markets, commented on the incident in London that had just occurred. Business picked up, including a large table next to us. We watched our waitress take their drink orders, give them menus and eventually take their order. We watched her deliver food and checks to other tables. My husband wrote a review after 30 minutes of waiting. Hes not from around here either, but hes lived here considerably longer than I have. I asked him 15 minutes later if we should leave. Our waitress was carefully avoiding us, no eye contact. Maybe by then we looked mean, but it was just hunger...and growing impatience. A few minutes later, she came by with a gift card and explained that there was a problem in the kitchen and the orders were not printing out. She said she just put our order in again. I said we would take the gift card but she could cancel the order, and we left at 12:13 p.m. (again, thanks Google). I know this was an off day due to technology problems, but I also know the waitstaff and management is better than what we got today. And I hope they share how to do the job correctly with the ones that were present today during lunch. We were not checked on once in the time between placing the order to 50 minutes later when we were told of the problem. Even if things are on fire in the kitchen, the waitstaff should update customers on the status of their orders and if its going to take longer than normal. Not sure how 50 minutes could lapse and our waitress not notice that she hadnt gotten her order out or checked in on us. Id have been nicer and maybe even more understanding if we had even one update. As we left, we heard "sorry," "sorry guys" over and over from the long-haired front of the house staff. Not sure if it was to us or to all the others customers who were similarly caught up in the problem, and maybe were nice and understanding enough to wait for a second chance at their shaved ribeye and grilled cheese sandwiches.

In town for my sons Navy Power School graduation, we picked him up the day before the ceremony. He wanted to go to Sesame Burgers. He is not a big foodie, so I wasnt sure what to expect, but it was great! I had the Ultimate Grilled Cheese, my husband and son both had Southwestern burgers. The cheese sandwich was delicious, loved the combination of cheeses. The burgers were juicy and the toppings were plentiful. The atmosphere somewhat noisy, but not unbearably so, and the place was full with a line the entire time we were there. The food was so good, that we ended up there a second time during our long weekend. This time I had the fried calamari salad. It was a late supper, so I ordered the smaller size. I was really surprised at the generous amount of calamari on it. The calamari was tender with a crispy coating. Everything was very fresh and it had just the right amount of dressing. My husband ordered the fish tacos, and said it was the best hes ever had - and we are from Southern California, so hes had a lot. Husband and son also greatly enjoyed the beer selection. The prices are surprisingly reasonable for the the quality of the food and service. If we are ever in Charleston again, we are definitely going back!

We went there for lunch - I ordered shrimp quiche and salad and the quiche had 1 shrimp in it. My daughter is a petite 12 year old. We ordered the kids meal. The waitress said she didnt know if they could do that, she didnt know the age limit for the kids meal and she said she would ask. She returned 15 minutes later and served our food and gave my daughter an adult portion. I asked why and she said well the kid portion is for kids 10 or 12. I said she is 12. The waitress never asked her age. The manager came over and said it was for little kids 12 and under. well - ok - She is 12. She said she would change it but she charged us separately for the fries. My child said the chicken fingers tasted burnt. I tasted them and agreed. So, shrimp quiche with one shrimp + a screwed up order and an indifferent attitude from the staff makes this a place I will not return to try a second time. I tried to find an email on their site to write them, they have no contact info for their management - so do you care to hear from customers?

My daughter-in-law and grandson have raved about the burgers at Sesames so much that I was looking forward to the "Greatest Burgers" in the state but I was disappointed. I ordered Southern burger cooked medium-rare, my daughter-in-law ordered the same as me and my grandson ordered his cooked medium-well. When they arrived at the table, my daughter-in-law and my burgers were Not medium-rare they were rare enough that I made the comment that "If I had wanted Steak Tartare, I would have ordered it", my grandsons burger was also not cooked enough bit because we had all put our condiments on and started to eat our burgers we decided to not send the food back to be properly cooked. I will try the Park Circle location again but I will be ordering mine to be cooked more fully. I did like the atmosphere, decor ,the pulled pork nachos with a side of fresh jalopinos and the service was good. Were they the " Greatest "? Not even close.

We came to sesame because we heard "they have the best burgers in town". Unfortunately, we cant confirm this because we didnt even get to eat, but what we do know is they have terrible customer service. Our waiter only came to our table to take our order. We had to ask him to refill our drinks and after 45 min of placing our order we demanded for him to check on our food even though he was pretty confident that it wasnt ready and what do you know- our food is ready, and cold as hell. He said "its just the bun" he set our fries on the table and ran back to give us a new bun, but we werent going to settle for cold meat and a warm bun with kind of warm fries. We spoke to the manager and she apologized and offered to box our food and pay for our meal. We waited for five minutes and she never came back so we left. Safe to say if you want cold food and bad service Semese will be just the place.
