EDIT: I heard from the owner through the restaurants facebook page. He apologized and agreed to refund our entire meal, even though I do not think thats necessary. Regardless, Im editing my review and rating until Ive had another chance to experience this restaurant. My wife and I came in yesterday for the first time for dinner. I was really excited to try your restaurant because I have heard good things. We started with the Bayou Empanadas and they were pretty good! For our entrees, my wife ordered the Chorizo Chili Cheeseburger w/the mac and cheese, and I ordered the Flat Iron Steak Sandwich, cooked medium, because of the menus description, "a thinly sliced flat iron steak, grilled to your liking...." Unfortunately, instead of thinly sliced steak, cooked the way I ordered it, I was served cubes of steak grilled well done on soggy bread that wouldnt even hold the meat. When I brought this to the waitresss attention, after walking away mid-sentence, she eventually came back, and said the owner was only willing to discount 20% of the sandwich’s cost off the bill, but she would go ahead and take 50% off because she felt bad. Granted, I was offered a new sandwich, but at this point, we had already waited +30 minutes and we didnt have time to wait longer (this time includes what we waited for the food and for the waitress to come back with what the owner was willing to do). So, because I took two bites of the sandwich that came out not at all as described on the menu, the owner expected us to still pay $9.60? What? I only took a second bite because I was giving the benefit of the doubt that the rest would be at least cooked properly and ended up sharing my wifes meal with her (her burger was good (nothing to write home about) and the mac and cheese was good). But to offer 20% off a sandwich from which I took two bites? I wish I had taken a picture to demonstrate my complaint but the server cleared our food before she told us what the owner was willing to discount. Then, when I asked to speak to the owner, the waitress pretended like he had left. We ended up paying $6 for two bites of the sandwich. For that I would have at least liked to bring the remaining overcooked steak home for the dogs. Good luck staying in business on James Island with that customer service!

Breath of fresh air. This spot struggled for years to find its own food identity. What would come in would be flash in the pan and rarely worked. Enough about the past the new owner has created something special here. It still has the local, fun, bar feel but the food... I could eat (and have done so) the fried crawfish as a meal all its own. You could simmer a boot and serve it with that voodoo sauce. Its that good. And with a little bit of liquid courage on a friday night you can order "the burn" burger which is a sweet hot and sing karaoke till you regret everything even at 1030. A true 360 turn around and a new favorite hang out.

A nearby shop owner touted my husband and me on Blues for a seafood lunch. We started with what they call empanadas, but which were more like egg rolls. They were terrific! My shrimp Po Boy was amazing, loaded with good-sized delicious shrimp, and his fried oysters were top notch. I even enjoyed a (surprisingly) nice white wine, crisp and chilled. The waitress was cute, fun and took great care of us, and the manager stopped by to check on how we were enjoying our visit. All in all, well worth a trip to Blues Cajun!

We ate here for lunch 2 days in a row so we could try a variety of the burgers and sandwiches. The sweet tea was meh. All of the burgers were nicely done. This would have been a 5 except for the cook who ran out of ingredients and served us a burger minus the hash it was supposed to have. They didnt even tell us! When we asked about it they were like yeah that happens here sometimes. LOL. To be fair she did discount his bill on our next visit and she had hash that time.

Great food! We were told quite rudely there was no table service so we had to order at the bar. Chris the bartender took our order and got our drinks with barely any words spoken. I think it was rude. I dont like the idea of paying for my food before Ive eaten it. Thats fast food style. It was overall a weird rude experience. But get past that because the food was delicious! ! Fast and fresh!

Upon arrival I did not receive a greeting nor a disclaimer that the dining room will be closed and I would have to go to the bar. We then found out minutes later after going from the high table to the bar that the bartender would be back in a couple of minutes. A couple minutes into 15 minutes we grew impatient and then we left! I would not recommend this establishment to anyone!

The food was amazing, the service was awful. If you have the options of "pink" or "not pink" for your burger patties and you cant even get that right, you have a problem. The bartended took about 10 minutes before taking our order, and the French fries were overly seasoned. My first beer had some sort of debris in it as well. The burgers were awesome, but thats about it.

We found this place by accident, but what a happy accident! The restaurant next door was closed on Easter Sunday so we thought we would give Blues a try. The shrimp and grits are the best Ive ever had! My husband got the crawfish etouffee and it was also very yummy! We both agreed that it was the best food we had on our trip!

Blues isnt the kind of place that looks fancy, but the food is fantastic. Whether youre looking for an all-American burger or Cajun cuisine, the food is a hit. Service is great (Maddie is a beast) and the wife and I have spent many a night at the bar. Get a local beer from one of the taps and enjoy Sean Mendes’ fine cooking!

First time eating there and absolutely loved their burgers! My husband is on the hunt to find the best burger in the world and we were both very impressed. Juicy, cooked to perfection, creative options. Their fries were delicious too! You must try both regular and sweet potato fries. We will definitely be going back.

Always a great environment to be in. Comfortable, laid back. Delicious food! My personal favorite is the hangover burger or the mushroom and Swiss burger. The fried pickles and banana peppers....you cant go wrong with! They dont slack on portions whatsoever. Very reasonably priced. Amazing staff!!

Service was bad. We were the only ones in there and took way too long to receive our drinks. Sweet tea was awful. It was probably one of the worst sweet teas I have had. We wanted to order the veggie burger but they were all out. We tried the pimento fries instead those were actually pretty good
