I have always loved the long point grille. We have been coming from Isle of Palms for years. I would love to give 5 stars for the meals and desserts, including the service, every single time. It is so extremely rare that I would ever write a review, but tonight, however, we were extremely disappointed by the service. I am not sure if our server just thought we wouldnt tip well or what. When our server took our order she didnt explain to my husband what we were ordering, drinks or meals or both. She said, "you can do whatever you want." We didnt know the other end of our table had ordered both food and drinks and it was pretty loud so we were just asking what are we ordering? We thought she was just taking our drink order. All she said is, "what do you want?" Our server brought our wine and beer by holding the glasses by her wrists with tabs for other tables in her hand. She would put drinks down not where they belong, but just anywhere she could plop them down to her convience. My husband finished his beer and I finished my wine within a reasonable drinking time and she never came to ask us if we wanted anything else. We sat there 10 minutes with nothing to drink. I had to ask the manager for more drinks when he came to check on our meals, which he brought himself a few minutes later. I did not like having to ask him for drinks but I felt like I had no choice. She asked us if we wanted dessert when we were still eating our dinner and werent nearly finished. She tried to take my daughters plate as she was eating her food with her fork in her hand. She took another plate of a guest at our table who was still chewing her food and eating. She didnt even ask. The guest still had a lot of food on her plate. She never asked if we wanted to go boxes or if we were finished with our meals. We decided to get a dessert because we love the desserts. Then sat there for 10-15 min waiting to see if she would ever come back after we ate most of the dessert. We wanted the rest to go because they are very large portions. I literally had to get out of my seat and walk over to another waitress and ask her if we could get two to go boxes for our desserts. Then she told our server to get them for us. And to top it all off, When we were leaving we overheard our server ask the people next to us in a very polite manner, " how was the meal? " and "would You like a to go box for your food?" I would love to come back to the long point grille for dinner because of their quality of food and accommodating manager, however, if we ever have this server again, we will ask for someone else. This literally was the worst service. It seems like she was pegging us for bad patrons and she already had her mind made up so she wasnt going to try. We really are the opposite, very unfortunate for her.

I was in the Charleston area with my 4 sisters for a vacation in June. It is very hard to get 5 women to agree on anything, but we finally decided to try this restaurant because the reviews we read online were good. When we first pulled up we were not sure this was even a restaurant or that it was open, but as we walked up to the door a couple walked out. We asked them if this place was any good and they said they lived close by and ate here at least 2-3 times a week and it was excellent. We were greeted and seated promptly by a friendly hostess. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful answering our questions about specials and recommending menu items. Each of us ordered something different (of course!) and EVERYTHING was magnificent! The She Crab Soup was delicious, the salads were fresh and the dressing tasted homemade. I had the Shrimp and Grits for my first time ever and was in LOVE. Everyone agreed (for once!) that this restaurant was the best food we had in the 5 days were were in the Charleston area! If you go, expect this restaurant to be noisy. The decor is rustic and pleasant, but the acoustics are harsh. You will not be disappointed with the food or service as both were impeccable!

Excellent food, very casual environment. Lots of southern-style fare - the buttermilk fried chicken is simply outstanding. Also lots of fresh fish specials on the menu (I had the grilled amberjack special and it was delicious). They dont take reservations, but will try to accommodate for a large group. I was too full for dessert, but am told by family members that the cakes are not to miss, especially the Hummingbird variety.

I was recently in Mt. Pleasant for a business trip and some of the locals recommended this place. The service was a little slow and my food came out a couple minutes after the rest of my group recieved their food but besides that it was excellent. I had the fried green tomatoes and a fish po boy and everything was cooked perfectly and was the best tasting food for the price from my entire stay in the Charleston area.

Great little restaurant. We eat there so often we know the owners, chefs, and some servers. The menu is always good. I will say I did get sick one time, but we have had such great service and meals there for so long, it didnt deter our family from coming back again and again for years now.

Enjoyed the location. The interior was interesting in a good way, but the bathroom placement was not good. Hamburger I got looked good, but was pretty tasteless and way to greasy, for my liking. Try something else.

Food was excellent, service friendly and efficient. The bread was marvelous, I think it had sun dried tomato flavor, not too overpowering. We would recommend this place, definitely will go back.

They make a priority to keep the menu consistently fresh with several non-menu specials every day. LPG is one of our favorites and we always have a great experience.

Before coming to Charleston, we googled "where do the locals eat in Charleston?". So glad someone suggested Long Point Grill!
