Our experience was nothing but disastrous. My husband ordered a simple breakfast of bacon and eggs, sunny side up, with fried potatoes. His eggs (all 3) were undercooked and simply raw - with the egg whites still transparent. His potatoes were soggy and cold. The only food that was half decent on his plate was the bacon. I ordered crepes with fruit. Unbeknown to me, the crepes were covered with creme cheese on the inside leaving the most awful aftertaste. Why would you put creme cheese on crepes - with fruit???? The waitress - with a Spanish accent - was chatting away to her pals who were sitting behind us - simply ignoring the other patrons. To top it all off, we were charged $35 for this meal. Daylight robbery for awful food. Sorry, not sure why this place has a good rating. Completely baffles me!!! We will definitely not be visiting this joint ever again. Thats for sure.

Its totally understandable why this place is a Hilton Head favorite! Super busy at 9am on a Saturday morning, still easy to grab a table for two! Quickly seated and coffees on the table within minutes! Even though its super busy, it doesnt feel rushed or like a madhouse and you can have conversation without screaming at each other. The hilton head breakfast that I had was great! My eggs were cooked over easy the way I like, the sausage links were the perfect size, and the home fries were crispy and soft with the right amount of seasoning. AND THE TOAST! The toast was phenomenal. Perfect for dipping into my eggs! I would definitely come back again and I would say this place is great for couples and families alike! Make this place a priority to dine at during your stay!

We had the opportunity to visit this establishment on July 29, 2008. The server was obnoxious to start---with this we were fairly certain that this was going to be a less than pleasurable experience. He was the most inattentive server we have seen in a long time. When we finally got our food most of it was it was cool--as in not hot--we had to ask twice for refills on coffee and even then he reached across a two year old and poured over top of the child and then was offended when we asked him to back up. The food was definitively bland and not worth the fairly high prces being asked for breakfast entrees. Trust us---save your money---go down the street to Paneras. It will cost you less---you will get better service---and you will definitely get better food!

The food is pretty decent and the prices are reasonable for a tourist town. The only problem that I have with the place is the motto; "where the locals eat". I would imagine that no locals would be interested in waiting for 30 min on a Wednesday morning. Also the most frustrating part about it is that there are tourist maps, brochures, and magazines plastered everywhere in the place. Directly outside the restaurant theres an info desk for people interested in tours, etc. The hostess gave us tips about where to sightsee without even asking if we were locals or not. I expect businesses to live up to their motto, but when they dont, like Stacks, they appear as fakers just trying to turn a profit. Overall is pretty good though.

Not really worth the money. Service was sub par. Ordered a soda and the syrup was out on the machine so I told the waitress who said the soda did taste funny but the machine was working fine so I just asked her to take it off our check. When they brought our food out, they got part of our order wrong and the table next to us as well as the table behind us. Never refilled the coffee at our table. a sanitation issue we had was that when they messed up our order, they brought us pancakes instead of toast and when they took the pancakes off the table, they just reheated them for someone elses table. Thankfully we hadnt touched them but I wouldnt be happy if I were the other table.

Been coming to Hilton Head for years from New Jersey. Usually have breakfast at McDonalds but decided to give this place a try. Mistake. The eggs were not cooked to order. No toast was brought out even thought it was suppose to be part of the item ordered. The pancakes..well, I hate to say this, but the worset I havce ever had in my entire life. Tastes like they were made yesterday with old stalke flour and nuked! I mean..they were gross! Also, there was a table of older people near us..this wasnt a problem but some annoying waiter was talking to them like they were a class of children. I was getting annoyed just listening to him. I hate this place.

Wife and I had a bad experience overall. I rarely write reviews. Server was rude and short and never came around to check on us. Didnt hear from the server until we had to send some food back due to the bacon being burnt and hard, overcooked sausage. At the end, we had extra $3.00 charges added to our check for sides which was completely different from what was stated on the menu, along with 2 coffees when all we had were waters. When we expressed concern with the manager about the experience overall, her only concern was that the menu can be a little confusing and only took off the coffees. Manager showed no concern for the bad experience. Food was basic.

This place was recommended to me by some locals, otherwise I would not have discovered it. Its set off the road and looks ordinary at best. The food, on the other hand, is terrific. While a bit pricy (just a bit), the food is delicious and creative. Lots of variety on the breakfast menu, it was very hard to decide what to order. I really liked the staff. When I asked a typical tourist question of my server, I got lots of good tips for my trip. One of the staff at the counter overheard my request and volunteered her own information as I was leaving. Its great not to be treated like a traveling cash dispenser, ha, ha!

I had the worst experience EVER eating at a restaurant. While the food has been okay both times Ive eaten there, this past time the waiter was incredibly obnoxious. He was constantly trying to be funny, but was being really aggressive and pushy, trying to make us laugh at him early in the morning. Then when we didnt laugh at his jokes, he must have gotten offended and immediately brought our check and never returned to our table to refill drinks, etc... Horrible experience. He was doing this to all the tables -- what few people were in there. The place has gone real down hill. Avoid at all costs.

We went there the weekend of 2/20/09. We were passing by and looking for breakfast and stopped. The menu was extensive.....lots and lots of choices. They had a buffet for $9.15. It looked a little skimpy for that price but I ordered off the menu. Pancakes were huge but they were super dry. Between me and my husband we almost used the whole syrup container because they kept sucking up the syrup. For me and my husband to eat it was like $26.00 not with tip. I had a short stack and some hash. He had pancakes and eggs, oh and bacon. I think there are probably a lot of other places that are better on HHI.
