A friend brought me here for my birthday several years ago. It seemed like it may have been our waiters first night as he wasnt fully acquainted with the menu and made some mistakes while serving us. I still enjoyed listening to his description of the cheeses and fondue ingredients. After his initial presentation, he didnt return very often to serve us. We ordered the standard three course meal and paid about $50.00 per person. The novelty of cooking my own food and dipping it in the fondue was incredibly fun, but I didnt feel that the quality of meat and ingredients justified the cost. We also ran out of fondue about halfway through the meal and were informed there would be additional cost for a refill. We opted to finish the meal without dip. Im glad I had the opportunity to visit the Melting Pot for the unique experience, but Im glad I didnt pay for it and I will likely never visit again.

The Melting pot is a good place to go if youve never done fondue before. Their 4 course meal combinations are really good, though I would discourage using the frying oil to cook your main entree since its time consuming, slightly more dangerous, and in my case, the batter never cooked properly anyway. Make sure to allot 2 hours at least, but it may be 3 or more. My group was there 3 hours, which is entirely too long, even for this place. The food isnt bad, but there are a lot of hits and misses for a place that will cost $90+ without tip. I felt like I was paying for novelty more than paying for actual good food. Service was slow, as well as the kitchen. The staff seemed attentive, but I kept asking myself, "Why is this taking so long?". I doubt theyll fix any of this any time soon, so go if you like, just be in mind that youre in it for the long haul.

Great Place, if you can get in. I made a reservation for 8:15 last night for a romantic dinner with my wife. The Melting Pot, youd think, would be the perfect place for that. When we got there, the place was packed with diners, the lobby was packed with people hoping to be diners, and we were told they were running behind and wed have to wait 10 to 15 minutes. Id understand that if wed just walked in of the street, but if we had a reservation?! We ended up standing there with staff having to walk around us (its a tiny lobby) for 15 minutes, then we gave up and left. Weve been to this restaurant before at busy times, and been seated at our assigned time. This time, however, management couldnt seem to get it together. I should point out that when wed visited before, the food and service were both excellent.

Absolutely one of the very BEST restaurants we have eaten at yet. Very unique as you get to cook your food yourself. The Duck, Steak, and Crusted Chicken were very good. We chose the Mojo for the cooking style. We loved it! The curry sauce was a great sauce for all meat selections however they had a wide selection. The Chocolate Fondue takes you by surprise when you find out its not a cheap tasting chocolate you have received in many of the buffet restaurants. On a scale from 1-10 I would give it a 10! And that is not just for the food, but for the great service we received. Very accomodating in food selections as well. You are sure to enjoy this place. Oh I will say, please get a sitter for the kids so you and your significant other can truly enjoy the experience. It will be well worth it!

We visit the Greenville Melting pot about twice a month with friends and our family. This week we were charged $7.25 for ice in our 3 drinks. We were also told by the server he was going to make a large cheese and divide it up so the kids did not have to reach - we were charged for two large cheese fondues - He lied. When we told the Asst. Manager he explained to us that it was company policy to charge for ice. The cheese was not removed from our bill. Our checks average $125-$250 everyother week and we have always told everyone about the place. Never again!

I have very mixed feelings about the Melting Pot. The food is decent and the portions are great but I dont like they way they mistreat/decieve customers in regards to tipping the waiters. Ive visited this restaurant twice with my spouse (just the two of us) and I was overcharged for the tip. If I remember correctly MP requires you to tip 20%-25% of your bill for a table of 6 or more. The problem is Ive never sat with a group and was charged 25% twice. BEWARE of your waiters deceptive tactics.

The wife and I went for our first anniversary dinner the food was very good and the service excellent. I told them at time making reservation it was anniversary and the gentleman listed packages they had for that. I got the single rose paxkage. They had a single rose ready on the table and a card on the table. The server wished us a happy anniversary as well. Someone came by and took our picture and we got a magnet frame. Always a good place to go for a special occasion.

The service tonight was below sub par. Our long awaited dessert white chocolate fondue was cold. He turned off our table burner. Yes they close at 11 and it was a little after when we got dessert because our server took so long to come back to get that portion of our order we sat for 20 mins waiting not to mention the 10 after he got it. Ive been here before and had great service but tonight Lance you screwed the pooch.

I can take my kids there or not it is a location where if I go early enough the bar hoppers are not out. As a family (my children are 8 and 12) they get a kick out of dunking the skewers and btw they are EXTREMLY well behaved. We just have an all around great time and have been there many times to celebrate my birthday or just to go out. I love it all the way around ... A great time and great food

Explained to waiter we never ate a restaurant before and he NEVER mention that the food items would be delivered to the table RAW. He said the boiling water he sat on the table was suppose to cook our food "2 mins per piece of food". 45 mins later food was still raw! Why would I pay you for me to cook my own food? Couldve ate at home for free. They RUINED my anniversary. Never again!

Thanks to The Melting Pot of Greenville, SC for making our daughters 21st birthday the best experience ever. She loved her night! The food was great and all the staff and managers were just so great to work with. You allowed me as her mom to feel so relaxed that you were taking care of everything and you did! Just wanted to say THANK YOU again for a wonderful evening.

We always come here on our Anniversary, the food has always been delicious. The staff are always helpful and friendly every time we have came here. I love the fact they make it feel more private the way they have taller walls from each table so it cuts the noise down. I do highly recommend trying then out to eat. Reservations are good but not always needed.
