Flour tortillas were worse than store bought and rivaled my own initial attempts to make them from scratch. My Beef Bisteca was pre-sliced (with texture of microwavable beef stroganoff), over saturated with sauce and almost unrecognizable. Garnish was limited to about 1/12 of an avocado (one bite) , shredded lettuce, and a small bite size tomato slice. Couldnt really taste nor appreciate any flavor of my lunch (rice, refried beans, stale tortillas) due to pepper spiciness. Im well traveled due to military career and thus sampled many Mexican restaurants in various regions throughout the US. . .which is what I am comparing Los Amigos to. One positive is the selection of hot sauces which was unnecessary for me however as the food seemed spicy enough.

From an out of towner prospective, this meal was delicious. I lived in California for sometime and had a fair amount of authentic Mexican meals, hands down this meal is one of the best I have had. The restaurant looks well kept (which aside from the prior reviews is what actually drew me in, who wants to eat/trust a place that looks like there will be roaches swimming in your soup?) The staff was friendly, I asked for an enchilada he recommended the trio so I can have a taste of their 3 selections. Meals are well portioned. I know this because I couldnt finish mine (which is normal for me) and the prices are amazing. Its a Win , win overall.

Dedcided to try this place out sibce i heard good things about the food. However we walked in with a party of 6, waited like 5 mintues before someone greeted us and said will be right with you (i think it was the owner, he was the only one that noticed us standing even though the place isnt that big.). There was like 4 waitress standing around and the tables were empty and still had dirty plates. I dont know what they were waiting for to start cleaning them and give us a table. We decided to leave because of the service. Can not rate food because didnt stay.

My absolute favorite Mexican restaurant in Ruskin and there are a lot of them. I can’t say enough about this place! It’s a family run business and when you walk in the door you are treated like family. I have never had a bad meal there and I’m there a lot. I recommend the steak tacos with the corn tortillas. I have to call my kids just to tell them I’m going there just to make them mad. When my daughters visit, they always go here at LEAST once...usually about three times!

Excellent food, service and clean always... As a non speaking Spanish person I worried if I would be able to convey what I wanted but the staff is always ready to explain something and even suggest a dish. I have been eating there for over a year now and I can honestly say with a doubt Ive continuesly had superb food and service every single time. Intact I really do recommend eating there to everyone.

Fairly decent place, I ordered chicken tacos and my son ordered steak tacos, which proved to be pretty tasteless. However, the fajita platter was very tasty and enchiladas with salsa verde got a 5 rating from my grandson. Very friendly staff, we were the last ones there just before closing time and i give them a plus for not rushing us out after serving.

Wow! Weve been looking for a really good Mexican restaurant since we left south Texas....we found it! Finally a place that makes their own tortillas! (Thats been hard to find!) We live in Palmetto and found them by chance, but well be taking a road trip back up here when we want good Mexican food! This place is the real deal!

Being a Texas native, I know good Mexican food. This place is as close to my Abuelas homecooking as Ive been able to get since moving to the area over 17 years ago. The tortillas are made fresh everyday, the charro beans are excellent and you cant go wrong with anything on the menu, but I especially love the tacos & gorditas.

This is a family friendly restaurant. We got there after church on Sunday and they always make room for our group no matter how large. The owner is there to help with any concerns. Ive asked for something off menu to meet my macros and they made it for me! Awesome service and authentic food. Skip the soda and try the orchata!

Nothing too exciting about the food or restaurant. I wouldnt say dont go, just try it for yourself. I had the soft burritos with rice and red beans. I can taste the difference between there food and the taco bus, which neither are excellent. The best south American food I ever had was in N.Y.

Love to support these small independently owned businesses. The Restaurant building itself, is definitely no frills but the food is real Mexican food. Gringo side sauce was good and we could add to our taste. Service was fast and friendly. Over-all nice experience.

My husband and I went for an early dinner. We were greeted by a smiling server and seated immediately. We order Sopes and Flautas. The food was amazing and the charro pintos were to die for! We will definitely be returning!!

If Pancho Villa were alive today, he would eat here. No flower tortilla, ground beef, orange cheese gringo Mexican food here. Only real deal by Mexicans, but gringos welcome. Viva los tacos al pastor!

Great tacos, guacamole, rice, beans and waitress. Best Mexican food in all of Florida from my experience. Also have the best ice in your drinks.
