I was very disappointed with our experience tonight for a number of reasons. The rooftop restaurant had a very shortened menu (apparently drinks were more expensive because its on the roof as well),our waitress provided the worst service that Ive EVER had, and management was non-present. The food, however, was very good. My wife and I heard about the roof top dining and gave it a shot. When we walked in, there was a sign that read "roof top dining is full. ask to get on the waiting list." I asked the host about the wait and he said he had no clue and for us to go upstairs to check. There is obviously no communication between the two sides. We went upstairs and were seated immediately. Our waitress walked up and seemed confused about whether or not she was helping us. We placed drink orders and then told her that we were going to order food. She immediately asks for my credit card to start a tab for the drinks and food. Usually I pay after I eat, but went ahead. We ordered food and when it comes out, she brought a totally different dish than I ordered. I brought it to her attention and she said, that the grilled chicken sandwich had lettuce and tomato on it and was kinda like chicken salad. She didnt offer to fix it. With no silverware or follow up from management, I finished my meal. I will not be going back.

From the look of this place one would assume that the food and service is great. I was not impressed. Im an experience server. I know what a nice dining experience should be like. This was not it. When first entering, we waited for almost five minutes to be sat. This was odd to me because the place was dead and there were four or five servers standing around doing nothing. Our server, Meghan, was terrible from the start. She didnt welcome us or introduce herself. She simply said, "Hey. Drinks?" Sigh.. I ordered the pub burger assuming itd be pretty easy to not screw up. Ordered medium, it came out burnt. She didnt ask how our food was, and she had been so slow/absent the entire time that I didnt even bother trying to tell her. My drink was empty for what felt like 20 minutes. I am assuming that the evening servers are much better. Our server was rude, dry, and short with us the entire time. This is the second time I have been to Six Pence. This is the second time I have been let down. Everyone deserves a second chance, but they wont get a third.

Great food great service great atmosphere. It was a beatiful day out so my girlfriend and I ate on the roof... the best decision we made all day. I forget the ladies name, but she was the best. Theres an elevator that we had to take to the top and she was going up as well. Im thinking she was the manager, but we didnt ask. She brought our menus over and made sure we understood everything about the menu. Apparently they have a different drink menu inside of the restaurant then the roof. The beer that I wanted wasnt served up there, but she said it was ok and shed get it me. That alone made my dining experience great. I had the bangers and mash and my girlfriend had the country fried steak, both were great and the portions for the price were on point. I would recommend everyone I know to try this place.

The service was terrible. The food was only so-so. There were maybe 3 servers although it was hard to tell because noone was doing much of ANYTHING. We waited forever for drinks, waited for refills while "servers" hid in the kitchen or on the patio. The manager seemed clueless as to what he was doing or what was going on. And we waited at least 10 minutes just to order. We will NOT go back. It was a place that my husband and I had wanted to try but will NEVER try again. We work in the restaurant industry and know how it should be and we were both highly disappointed.

Good food, again like the other Baxter and Fort Mill restaurants the service us not great. You get the feeling your keeping them from something else when you walk in the door. The food is always slow but worth the wait. If you are eating there for lunch, think of a good excuse for being late getting back to work while you wait for food. The prices are a little high for what you get, however it is good. Expect slow and/or bad service anywhere In Fort Mill. Not sure why its that way, but it is.

Been here twice. First time the French Onion soup was amazing. Second time, tonight, it was the worse soup Ive probably ever had. It tasted as though they burnt the onions and tried to cover it up with guiness. Love the atmosphere though! The waitress was very sweet but we were highly disappointed. When she asked what was wrong with the soup (seeing that we hadnt eaten it) we told her. She still charged us which was slightly annoying at $38 for soup that none of could stomach to eat!

Do not go to 6 Pence Pub in Baxter Village. I had the unique privilege of being expelled from the establishment because one of their drunk regulars was offended by my presence despite the fact that as a 54" guy, I had no intention of starting a physical altercation with a 62" d-bag. I have never in my life sought a physical altercation with anyone, yet they allowed this belligerent drunk to run the show. I question their managerial judgment and choose to take my business elsewhere.

Having just moved to the area, my sister and her hubby brought me to the pub for a quick dinner and cool drink....I have fallen in love! The food is always great, the service far exceeds what you would expect and the atmosphere is so welcoming...gives you a small town feel, like you know everyone and everyone knows you. LOVE IT! Will keep going back! Kudos to Leah and John!!! The fish dinner is delicious and they have the best home made chips...try them, youll be hooked!

The service here was not the best. Our waitress seemed disinterested, and did not know much about the menu. She rarely stopped by to check on us (refills, asking about the food). Atmosphere was enjoyable, what youd expect for a British pub. A ton of beer on tap. The food is outstanding. Everyone enjoyed their meals, food was cooked properly, presentation was great. Will definitely come here again.

Its an English style restaurant in the market area of Baxter. The food is good! Fish and chips was very tasty. Prices are a little high but not too excessive. The biggest problem is that its in Fort Mill which is where all the families are. There are more screaming children in the pub then people drinking. Its good and nice but sit outside or go when the kids have been put down for a nap.

Tried to place an order at lunch time this past Tuesday. They put me on hold for 15 minutes before I hung up and went somewhere else. Only reason its not a 1 star is that Ive been here numerous times and the rooftop bar was helpful and kind with our large party of guests. If youre up there, consider transit time via the elevator when an urgent bathroom visit beckons.
