I have been to several locations around columbia. Last night I went to the one on Senate St. because I was told they got new management and menus. The menu looked great I ordered one of the most expensive dishes on the menu. 45 minutes later the food comes out... room temperature, quite overcooked, there was a hair in the chips, the margarita I ordered was sitting at the bar with the ice completely melted...needless to say I just left without taking a bite. I still wanted mexican food so I went to their location across the blossom bridge and tried it all over again. I had a great evening after that...Good food and good service. Its a shame the monterreys in the vista has stooped so low because it was one of my favorite places to eat and have a margarita.

The food was barely edible. I waited several minutes to be seated, even though there were only 2 customers in the entire restaurant. The waiter was very polite. I immediately sent my drink back and asked for a to go cup because it tasted faintly like soap. I heard another customer send his drink back because the glass was dirty. The food tasted cheap and disgusting. I left hungry. I should never have paid for the food, but i didnt want to punish the waiter who i can only assume has to apologize for the food constantly. So I tipped well only for that reason. Never going back.

This may be the best Mexican food in Columbia, although Im not sure that is revealing much other than the basic fact of not much alternative. Chips and salsa are good. Enchiladas are okay. Tacos, crispy, were better than enchiladas. Table staff do speak Spanish if necessary. Restaurant very, very close to the Hilton which is an advantage if thats where you stay.

Food was alright. Service was awkwardly rude and my girlfriend even noticed the more than unenthuased attitude. At the end they overcharged me 18.50 for 6 chicken tacos listed (3) for 5.75. Coudnt say anything cause it seems cheap on a date.. At least I know not to return

I always like Mexican restaurants. They are characterized by fast service and good, cheap food. This place, its like the staff just doesnt care. Its in a convienent location to my friends work so I find myself there too often. But its always a disappointment.

Good food good service a lil pricier than expected and parking can be tough especially with the tow trucks towing everyone if they get a report that you stepped off the property... Its a lil ridiculous. Park at a meter if you can.

IF you want authentic Mexican Food Skip this place!! I grew up in Texas and know good Mexican food and this place does not have it. Head to Jaliscos or Real Mexico. If your going to eat out get decent food, not Monterrey!

I love this place. The tacos are great its more of like a big family here. The service was great. The cooks got my food out in a timely fashion didnt have to wait long at all. I will be going back there again and again

The food was amazing and the prices are outstanding. A little dated on the decor, but the food more than makes up for that. The service was slow, but they were really nice. Just be prepared to wait for your food.

Ioved this place. Food well priced and very fresh. Hands down better than some of the competing tex Mex places. I like the old decore made it feel authentic . This will be my go to texmex place when Im in town.

Wonderful restaurant; great food. 10% for SCDOT employees. Service leaves a little to be desired but the food makes up for it!! Yes, I would highly recommend it also because of the reasonable prices!!!
