Upon entering I asked the bartender numerous times to start me a tab with my card. She declined every time saying she was keeping track and didnt need my card. When cashed out our bill was unexpectedly high. When we asked for an itemized receipt we were told their computer doesnt allow them to do that but that our familys drinks were on our tab. We witnessed them paying cash for their drinks before they left, but called them to verify that they indeed paid for their drinks (they had). We left and left no tip due to the over charges and inability to handle simple tabs (the place wasnt crowded at all either mind you). We then saw in our bank account that they charged $14 extra dollars to our tab. Were locals and tried out the Stag on a recommendation of a friend. However, feel like we were treated like potential "tourists" and they tried to take advantage. Not siure if the problem is the newer bartender of the pub, but regardless if reflects on the entire pub. In my opinion theyre a bunch of crooks that pocketed our familys cash then charged us for the drinks and room upon herself to get a $14 tip. Oh and I only had 2 drinks so this wasnt a case of we were "too drunk" to know what we drank.

If discretion from your bartender is something you are looking for, then I suggest you pass on Stag Erin Pub when their bar manager, Kati Vondershmit, is present. Recently, after drinking 3 Mich Ultras and a half shot in a two hour period and closing my tab, it came to my attention that their bar manager (who was there drinking, not working), was going up to other patrons and the working bartenders stating that I was intoxicated and that she was going to call the police. She at no time expressed any concern to me or asked the bartenders to refuse me service, which is their right. I left and less than an hour later, my ex-husband was on my doorstep. Kati had called him to report that I was drinking. Absolutely unprofessional!!!! Clearly, I will not be returning to Stag Erin Pub and if your privacy is something you care about, I suggest you think twice as well.

fantastic. will be smokey indoors. interesting beer selection, awesome outdoor patio with horseshoes, cornhole; indoor they have pool, xbox kinect. has an excellent brunch, $10 for 2 bloody marys or mimosas and a full breakfast. cant be beat.

This looks like a nice pub, but as soon as I opened the front door I was caught in a wave of smoke and decided to leave. Apparently Charlestons ban on smoking in public places ends at the city limits.

The Flounder and Shrimp dinners here are fantastic. It it was on a China plate and served downtown it would be $30. Here it is 12 bucks. Just good solid food.

Reading previous reviews, the establishment no longer allows smoking indoors. Cool pub and bartenders. Wednesday Fam-Lee dinner is always good too!
