Worst and overpriced! The beer is the only decent thing here and must be because they dont make it. I had the fish tacos which were the blandest, most tasteless food items I have ever eaten. I mean how can anyone screw up fish tacos? You literally have to throw things into a shell and serve it. The pizza was decent. But the cheesecake was nothing like any cheesecake you will ever eat. It was like a bakhlava turned inside out and dumped on a cheesecake. After all this horrible food, came my check. 42 dollars for one person to eat till the point where I got full. Also, I weigh 150 pounds and dont have a huge appetite. I am clueless as to why this place is always so full. Must be because there are very few places in Roanoke where you can get such a variety of beer. And people do love their beer. But the food was just terrible. Jack Browns in downtown is thousand times better with the same variety of beer selection. At least both places have my most favorite beer: Victory Golden Monkey. The gourmet burgers of Jack Browns blow the best food items at Wasena out of the water by miles!

My 1st time there. Visiting my family in VA. My niece recommended this place. We were a party of 6. I was extremely pleased with the menu and we chose to sit outside because it was a beautiful breezy evening. Our server, Rebecca, Becca or (as she said, hey you).. She was so nice and sweet, gave us relaxing time to make choices, when our meal came, And, all 6 chose different Entrees, And All 6 said, they wanted what I had, which was the Blackened shrimp peach spinach salad!! Wow.. Awesome! Rebecca asked and made sure we All had our meals as what we ordered. ALL 6 were Perfect! She checked on us, no drinks were empty, and Rebecca was outstanding! Thank you for a wonderful experience. When in town, We Will definitely be back!

To have such a wonderful beer selection, you would think they would have enough money to hire someone with taste buds to cook the food. I am a very large man and I love food, I have never had a hamburger that I just simply put down because I was bored with it. This burger was so boring I question whether it was actually meat I was eating. If this was a one-time occurrence that would be one thing, but other than their Pizza which is decent, nothing on their menu is good enough to serve to a junior high school lunch room. This sort of negative review is rare for me if you look at everything else Ive reviewed most everywhere else in town I love I just dont understand how this menu has maintained this restaurant for this long.

I went about three weeks ago (4 of us) and plan to go again tomorrow. My boyfriend and I both got the grilled chicken club and asked for Chipolte Ranch dressing to add to it (which tasted wonderful) and the sweet potato fries, which we dipped in the Chipolte Ranch dressing too. That was a great combo. I am usually a lite beer drinker. Not into the fancy beers. I did try three "flights" which are small sample glasses for $1.50 each, all were light colored beers, one even had an orange flavor. (not for me). I ended up being a sissy and ordered a glass of Coors Lite!! The guys with us were drinking those dark beers and liking them. I loved the sandwich and sweet potato fries and that is what I am going back for tomorrow.

Tucked away in the bend of the Roanoke Greenway, Wasena Tap Room never fails to impress. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The staff is friendly and amazing! The beer menu is ever changing and will satisfy the pickiest of taste buds! And the food! Every visit will remind you how ingenious the chefs at Wasena are! Try something different every time, but dont miss out on the Angry Fries or the Friday night trivia! Youll keep coming back, so make sure you sign up for the Loyalty Program!

Popped in for late night trivia from out of town last Friday night. For midnight in a more local-feeling establishment, it was slammed! Everyone was ordering the $5 pizzas, which we did not try, but they looked very good. Great draft list at average prices (~$5 per pint). Wish their happy hour was extended a bit, as it is only 2-6pm on Mondays-Thursdays. Extending the Happy Hour til 7pm and/or on Fridays would convince me to become a regular here!

Go for Tap Take-overs, Fleet Feet runs, brunch, and Pub Climb nights at the River Rock. Wasena is an awesome hub for gathering post-adventure. The food is solid, beer selection is great, and the staff are awesome! Occasionally the food is inconsistent-Ive ordered the "Wilmer Bowl" and had it presented 3 or 4 different ways, but the atmosphere and variety makes up for it! Also the sweet potato fries and fish tacos are great!

I went with my wife and 3 year old. The service was friendly and fast, food came out quickly, and naturally a great beer selection. We had the chicken and carnitas tacos, both of which were fantastic. Our daughter had the kids pasta which tasted home made and fresh. The desserts were great as well (key lime pie, root beer float). Definitely recommend going for a great dinner at a very reasonable price.

Good service. Relatively good Choices. We got sweet potato fries, fried chicken thighs, a lot of beer (flights), and chips and salsa. The craft beer was a wide selection. The chicken thighs were definitely more breading than chicken and were slightly overcooked. But when you toss beer into the equation it was still decent.

Great food and always pleasant wait staff. Very welcoming from the moment youre in the door! Well managed and intriguing beverage options all around- cocktails, wine, and especially beer. 30 beers on tap including Louisianas abita root beer which they make floats with homestead creamery ice cream.

Wasena has a good selection of food and drinks, as well as a fun atmosphere. The pricing is a little high, though. Food is average, but there is a wide variety. The drinks they have on tap change a lot and they get in some beers/ciders that I havent seen on tap anywhere in this area before.

Great atmosphere and beer selection. Burger of the month is always the standout item on the menu and is a must buy at least once that month. Pizza is very good as well and be on the lookout for a weekly special. Staff is friendly and remembers repeat customers.

This place is awesome. I always get the Wings if they have them. The Ghost pepper wings are unreal. Always go here with a group of friends and they have a great selection of beer and food for everyone. They had a Pineapple Cider that was out of this world.

Superior food, one in our group was unable to eat their order due to spices, substitute food was promptly served, offered to pay for extra, would not charge. Very relaxed, and pleasant atmosphere, will return soon.

My all time favorite place to go for good beer and good food. Theyve always got something different on tap every time I go and their food is fantastic. If you like something a little spicy get the angry fries.

Perfect neighborhood bar with amazing food. Huge beer selection and a dog friendly patio. Love the burgers and the specials. Traditional bar food with an upscale twist. Far from a hole in the wall.
