OMG...What a great place. Was there for vacation and happened to stumble on it. Food is fantastic. My husband and I were killing time before our dinner cruise but I was starving. We stopped in here, which is just down the street from Liberty Square. I was hungry for a chicken salad. Assuming it would be small...well I was totally wrong. It was so good that I wanted to bring the rest back to hotel. I needed a bag of ice to help keep it cool in my car while we were on the ship. They insisted that I keep it there and just come back and pick it up after our cruise. They didnt want me to keep it in the car. What wonderful and kind people. Will DEFINITELY be going back next year. Not just for the hospitality but the food too. This is a must visit place!

My office orders from EBD often and I tried the group ordering feature today for the 1st time. 17 orders later and the service did not work. I then had to call in all 17 orders into the restaurant (which is exactly what I was trying to avoid). I asked for the food to be delivered at 12:30. It arrived at 11:50. Then I was missing a soup. When I called to voice my complaints to the manager (Maryann) she was extremely combative towards me. She explained what happened on their end, but was extremely rude about it! Its just my opinion that she should have been a little nicer, especially a return customer voicing their opinion.

East bay is far from the best deli in Charleston. After not even comparing to the recenty out of business pit stop deli, East bay tries to be something it is clearly not succeeding at. Ive ordered multiple meals. The breakfast is the only thing worth considering and its not served after 11, but they will still charge your card anyways and make it a hassle to get your money back. Delivery takes hour and a half even though it says 45 min. and the food is worse than what you could make at home. save your time and money and go to Dellz deli or Brown dog deli because this place is a waste of space, time, and money

I order from this place often. I ordered online today, but when my food got here it was iced cold. All they said was the delivery time. Thats cool and everything, but I believe if any fried food that need to be delivered why not cook it closer to the time it needs to be delivered vs having it riding around in the delivery mans car for an hour. Thats not fair to the customer that has not only paid up front, but has given a tip. All I got was Im sorry and I gotta think about the delivery time. Thats not good customer service.

Visiting Charleston? I would not recommend this spot, if you are near the aquarium or Waiting for your tour of Fort Sumter. - Customer service was poor/rude. - Extremely over priced. (Literally did a double take at the total) - Food service was slow - Floor was dirty ( Which I had time to notice while we waited on our food) - Food was average once we received it. I left feeling pity on those poor Charlestonians who have to suffer so on a regular basis. Such poor service is something up with which I will not put.

I used to order East Bay Deli because its close to my work, but today was my last trip. Not only is the staff inattentive, but they do not know how to work under pressure. They completely forgot about my togo order as I stood waiting on it for 15 minutes. When I finally asked for my money back, they found my order which had been sitting in front of them the whole time and was now cold and disgusting...never again. Dont let their $1 off coupon fool you into this excuse of an establishment.

Great location if youre going to be taking tours to Fort Sumter and/or Patriots Point. Menu is extensive and food is very good. My wife had a grilled cheese with chips, my son had the pulled pork sandwich with fries, and I had the East Bay burger with fries. One of the best burgers Ive tasted and Im from the South. All the food was very good, although we had to wait a while even though it wasnt busy at 2 pm. The wait is the only reason I gave East Bay Deli a 4 out of 5.

For one, I ordered fries but got chips instead. Both my coworker and i had soggy chips and , believe it ir not, even his pickle was soggy. Not crisp at all. My hotdogs chili was lukewarm at best. We ordered a working lunch and was very disappointed. Our office is only 2 streets from your resataurant so there is no excuse for this. Will not suggest your restaurant to any fellow coworkers. Very disappointed!!!

This is one of my favorite lunch spots in town!! I love getting the salad bar because of the many fresh ingredients it has!! The menu also has something for everyone! I do have to commend the staff on how they handle a crazy lunch rush! They are always on top of things, from moving the ordering line quickly to cleaning off tables as customers leave so new customers have a clean space to sit! This place is awesome!

Food is terribly overpriced portions are small and there was barely any meat on my italian at all. $2 for a fountain drink is also outrageous. Even the quality left a lot to be desired. I expected much more for my $10, I wont be making a return visit. There is a Subway across the street and as much as I dislike their food my money would be better spent there.

Well lets say I enjoy stopping in for an occasional sandwich....but two separate times in say two months Ive walked into a day care! Very odd seeing kids sleeping in booths with blankets... Very odd but perhaps ebdeli is in the day care business now.....not a good business model but who am I, just a customer I guess...

Beat the rush. Get there a little before 11:30 or you will be in line. This is a resturant that does well with tourists, frustrating if you know what you want and the Smith family of six are trying to decide. Opt for the online ordering if you will be eating later, have never had an order messed up from online ordering.

If I could give less than one star I would. We placed an order at 11:30a by 12:30p we still had not received our order. I called and was told (by Shaniqua) the driver was late coming in so it would be there shortly. We live less than 2 blocks away and this service was unacceptable. I will not be using them again.

The food is usually good. The customer service on the other hand is NOT. I came across ONE nice person. Everyone else has been RUDE. Idk why I even bother to tip everytime. When I am nothing but nice to you, I expect the same back. I CANT STAND RUDE. Or having 6 people who came in after me, served before me...

This place has the best food and is not widely known. We just happened upon it waiting for our boat to Fort Sumpter. Never would I have thought to marry chili with coleslaw but they go very well together. My husband wants to drive back from Illinois just for your chili dog for that reason. Yummy.
