Been going here since I was a kid back in the 90s. I remember the carhop service and the amazing root beer. It was always a great adventure for us kids when we went for a family outing. This time I took MY father to eat and it had a similar feeling. Carhop was still available, but we sat in the picnic table area. Brought back a lot of good memories and the root beer was just how I remembered it. Cash Only still, but there is an ATM on site for convenience. Why would you stop up the road at the Other Place when you can stop at A&W and relive your childhood.

Disgusting!!! burnt onion rings, 4.99 for a sunday, hot fudge supposedly, only a tiny drizzle on the bottom of the cup. Not to mention 45 min weight just for a menu and longer for our so called "food" i dont reccomend it. Also not to mention the girl serving our food was playing with the outside trash n sweeping the ground, the girl bagging our food was doing inside trash did NOT WASH HER HANDS!!!!!

The last A&W in Rhode Island and probably the only old-fashioned drive in style A&W on the east coast. House made draft root beer in a frosted mug is super creamy, vanilla-y and sweet, could be a little more carbonated. Triple cheeseburger really hit the spot - meaty and cheesy. Coney dog with cheese also good. Cheese curds very good. Fries just okay. Atmosphere and nostalgia on the max.

A family favorite. We look forward to going here when we are in the area. Not too much that our gluten free family members can safely eat, but mostly we come for the root beer floats anyway. No bike rack but youre eating outside and keeping an eye on your bike anyway.

old time service at yesteryear prices - just pull up and flash your lights or horn and someone will come to you to take your order, its seasonal so theyre not there in the winter but if your driving by, its worth stopping for a burger.

Cute burgers, hot dogs, fries and onion rings joint on Rt. 44 in Smithfield. They do have car hop service and a Cruise Night on Tuesdays. Food is OK for a fast food joint, and dont forget the famous A&W Root Beer!

Not the best food, but if youre in the mood for a throw-back to the carhops of the 50s, this is the place to go. Classic root beer, hot dogs, and hamburgers. Just dont expect gourmet fare, and youll enjoy it!

It was ok. Carhop girls were pleasant and attentive. Food mediocre and rather pricey. Root beer was the only redeeming good thing about the visit-- and it was in a glass mug! Waaa--hooo !!!
