Horrible, how this place stays in business is beyond me. Last evening my Wife and I arrived at around 645, after standing at the door for about 15 minutes finally a hostess arrived and sat us down. This was the optempo for the evening. 30minutes drinks 30 more minutes appetizer scrounged my own silverware. About an hour 15 later I had enough I walked to the kitchen where I found the staff smoking and joking I asked where my food was and if someone was catching my haddock in the Assabet and slaughtering the beef for the steak tips, I was then quoted 3 minutes, (translated to 15 minutes) so after that went to the bar to get my Wives glass of wine. No sense of urgency or concern. At the time of dining there were approximately 9 tables with 4 staff so it was Id say not that busy for the experienced lack of service. To whom that may reply from this restaurant? There is no excuse or apology. Good luck

I specifically dont give negative reviews. I am aware the effect of social media and its reviews on local businesses, so I incorporate "If you dont have some thing nice to say...." I am pulling out all the stops on this one, however. The level of catastrophe I experienced last night at this place is comic. It is almost impossible to fail so miserably, but River Rock nailed it. Youll notice i am purposefully being vague. That is due to the fact that from entrance to exit was a nightmare. My husband reviewed here, stating the kitchen staff was "smokin and jokin". Management quickly wrote back that none of their staff smokes. It was a metaphor. ... they responded to my husbands negative review online faster than it took to get my first drink. Please see Yelp for my full review on food, service, and further specifics of my dining experience.

We got there at 7 pm. We ordered an appetizer, and it came at 7:30. Then we ordered dinner. And waited. And waited, and waited and waited. Finally, at 8:10, the waitress came over and told us that she would comp the appetizer because she forgot to place our order with the kitchen. We should have left then. About 15 minutes later, our food arrived. I cut into the steak tips to find the centers raw and the outsides burned (Id ordered them medium-well). They re-cooked (read, overcooked) the steak tips, leaving them all but inedible. Once the waitress delivered the re-cooked food, she disappeared. We had to go searching for her when we wanted to leave. Bad food + bad service = Terrible dining experience. I will never go back to River Rock Grill, and I suggest you do the same.

We went there with some family members on a Sunday afternoon. It wasnt too busy, and we were seated quickly. Our waitress was very friendly. The menu is fairly large and we were having trouble choosing, so she gave us some helpful recommendations. The zucchini chips were really addictive. I chose the chicken scallopini. The alfredo sauce was a little uninspiring, but the chicken and green beans were delicious. I feel the price was a little expensive for the quality of the food, but the service was great and we most likely go back.

My wife and I have tried this place a few times throughout the last year and everytime it just gets better and better. They have dropped the prices and stopped trying to be something they dont need to be. Great waitstaff and bartenders. Try the grilled jalapeno poppers wrapped in bacon if you like heat. My only piece of advice would be to get a cheap beer on draft to compete with the Half Way. This would bring the rest of the folks from the Blue Coyote over your way.

Foods pretty good but the services isnt to great at all. I tryd calling in a pick up order for some lunch the line was busy, called back twice it went through to voice mail both times, i walked in and the waiters sitting there at the bar with two custumers watching tv as the only other employee there walks away. Got no service. Recommend the half way cafe down the street.

My husband and I ate at The River Rock recently. I ordered the Morrocan Haddock and my husband ordered the chicken parmesan. Both were excellent. Service was good and the atmosphere with the music on the bar side making its way to the dining side, was an added plus. We will definitely keep this on our short list of local favorites,
