This is what a neighborhood bistro should be! Friendly service by a staff that remembers my name, reasonably priced menu and excellent wine list-what more could you want these days! The place confits there own duck and marries it with a house made sausage for a "petit" cassoulet thats just outstanding. Start with the fresh and light clam chowder(I know, when was the last time you heard that) and end with a classic creme brulee. My husband and I eat here regularly and have yet to spend more than $40 a person including wine for exceptional quality and service. This is truly a hidden gem in Bristol. Bon Appetit! If youre expecting Persimmon or the French Laundry-this isnt the place, but its also not the price of those either. Persimmons cuisine is outstanding and deserves its high praise, but you pay for that level of cuisine. Were thrilled with the choices in this neighborhood for all levels.

My wife works here and has a great deal of respect for the owner/chef. We are a military family and have moved around a lot. Hearing the praise of the chef and trying the leftovers that she brings home after the end of her shift--his dishes are incredible. My wife has been telling me to come in, and we were finally able to do it. I asked her if this is his form of artwork, and she replied, "yes." The combination of flavors is perfect. My wife praises this place because everything except the dinner rolls is farm-to-table. He makes everything, even the ice cream desserts. Ive never seen that and Ive been all over the world! This place is well deserving of a 5 star rating, just knowing the quality of product and the care given to his artistic creations. Amazing!!

le central does have a beautiful ambiance- although in the summer you will suffocate in the dining room as they dont have adequate ventilation. the food is alright. however for a restaurant that purports to be of a certain caliber, it is mediocre at best. the clam chowder had an interesting presentation, as the clams were served still in their shells. however, it lacked the punch of smoked bacon that a review i had read raved about. it was rather weak in flavor and not very well rounded. the taste of the cream was all i got. their roasted chicken was okay. certainly a dish i could have whipped up in my own kitchen. but i was expecting more. all in all for the price, you can get much better in bristol.

This French restaurant is country french with somewhat upscale decor from that standard and not obtrusive. The drinks, service, and some of the dishes are excellent, most things are very good. The price is moderate (~ $40/person with wine or a drink beforehand, appetizer and desert) and very reasonable for the quality. Your french friends will find it pleasant but wont rave. We eat there 2 of the 4 times we go to Bristol for dinner each year. Dont know where to get better french food without spending much more.

A must visit for lunch. My wife and I eat here on a semi-regular basis. My wife swears they make the best salmon she has ever had. The food is always top quality and fresh. The service is quick and friendly. The prices are reasonable and while the menu is simple, it has a good variety. LeCentral is at the top of my list of restaraunts to recommend to friends. If you have not eaten here, you dont know what you are missing.

Ive been here for lunch five or six times. The lunch menu is simple (in a good way), very well done and excellent value. Two can have lunch for well under $30. Seemingly simple dishes, such as the broiled chicken sandwich, are very flavorful and made with obviously fresh ingredients. Service has always been good. Unpretentious, tasty and well priced. I dont know what more you could want from a restaurant.

We arrived at the restaurant at 7:45. There were five of us and we were excited for a good meal. The food was good. But the service was less than optimal. We were constantly rushed and told that they close at "8 PM". If youre concerned about getting your restaurant closed on time why not close at 7:30 and not let one more person in? Being rushed really ruined the entire evening. Our waitress was particularly rude

I stumbled on to Le Central about 18 months ago and it has been a regular favorite since. Simply the best clam chowder on the planet, made with house-smoked bacon and whole clams. Ive taken clients and friends and they all rave too. The ambience is nice, the food is -very- good and reasonably priced for what youre getting, and the proprietor and waitstaff are friendly and attentive.
