I had booked a table for four 2.5 months ago after having heard good things about it! Was thrilled, in fact, to drive n hour to go for a dinner. I called a week prior to the day of reservation to see if theyd accommodate an extra person at the table. The staff person said they were busy and theyd call back. I never heard back for 4 days. I received a call to see if were still coming, at which point, I again made the request. Realizing that my request was relatively "last-minute" I offered if heyd place an extra chair to accommodate a friend coming from Boston, wed be grateful. I was turned off not by their inability to accommodate but by the rudeness of the man calling us from the restaurant. He was frankly condescending!

Always a favorite whenever we are in Newport..particularly for a special occasion! The food, service and atmosphere is top notch. Albert and Sarah are perfectionists and everything is consistently outstanding. And to address some of the other reviews that were less than satisfactory, Bouchard is not a place for infants...those that dine here are seeking a peaceful and serene surrounding. And to ask to add a third person to a table for two at the last minute, is just not possible at most small and intimate restaurants. I think that these reviews should be discredited. Bouchard is always my top recommendation for anyone in Newport seeking fine cuisine and a superior dining experience. Dont miss the Grand Marnier Souffle!

I have never been to a restaurant before and been treated with such disrespect. I have dined at many nice restaurants in my lifetime and have never been treated so horribly. The wait staff made us feel like we should be lucky to eat at this restaurant. On top of it all the food is not good so they should be lucky for people to even eat there!!!! Our experience in Newport was ruined because of how rude the wife of the chef was!

I cant tell you how the food is here at this restaurant. I was told that I cannot eat here because I have a 9 month old baby. I have never been denied at any other restaurants in Newport or anywhere. 22 Bowen went above and beyond to accommodate us. They even cracked my lobster apart for me so I could attend to my daughter as needed. Guess we will spend another $300 dinner again there instead. Well worth it at 22 Bowen!!

Tried the restaurant durning restaurant week for their specials. Good selection of items on the menu. Tried the goat cheese ravioli appetizer, very savoury. Salmon tartar was also very good, creamy with a lemon flavor. Duck was very tender. Pork and spinach was good but the pastry it was in was a little bland. Raspberry souffle was very sugary, melt as soon as it touched your tongue. Staff was friendly and very observant.

I had an excellent meal while I was here. Although the menu doesnt specifically state it, most of their items are gluten free. I have Celiac Disease and they specifically asked me if I did, which is rare and greatly appreciated. The meals are not cheap but I wasnt expecting it to be. I felt the food and service was well worth the premium price tag. I would definitely come back again. You need to check this place out!

Good location on Thames, right in the middle of things. We stayed in the ribbon room very comfortable and clean. Decor is very b&b like. This room was a bit noisy from the hustle and bustle of the street and pub next door, although it was a beautiful holiday weekend so its to be expected. Great breakfast brought to room in the morning! Overall a very nice place to stay. Nice staff and parking!

Food deserves 5 stars. Walked in to be looked at like an alien by the owner and hostess as I wore sneakers(dress code wasnt completely relayed to me as it was a gift from our wedding) witnessed an awkward moment of a waitress being yelled at as we waited for our table..waitress hit my wife in the back of the head with plates, awkwardly uptight atmosphere

Went for the first time during restaurant week and got an excellent meal. Will go again to try their regular menu. The only issue was with the bill that it was incorrect and I had to send it back twice for correction. Everyone has makes errors but charging 3 restaurant meals when it was only one and could not be fixed on the first try is disappointing.

Ive been going to Bouchards once a year for at least 20 years when Im in Newport for the Newport Classical music festival. Bouchards is an old school French restaurant. Its been consistently good over the years although it probably wouldnt hurt them to update the menu every now and then. I particularly love the vol au vent.

My husband and I traveled with another couple to Newport and stayed at Bouchard Inn. We were so pleased with our rooms, as they were clean and comfortable. It is a lovely Inn and the perfect location. It is a short drive to the Cliff Walk and a short walk to the Harbor. Thank you Bouchard Inn for a very enjoyable stay!

The service was amazing. The food was out of this world. Everything we got was absolutely delicious. Unlike most fine dining places, the portions werent tiny; they were just the right size. I really appreciated the half bottle options on the wine list, as well as the option to take the rest of an unfinished bottle home.

Food was AMAZING and service was even better. Our servers name was Dan and he was as good of a waiter as we have ever had. We live in Boston and it might be worth the 1.5 hour drive just for dinner! Very quaint and romantic. Also, if your use to Boston or New York pricing, it was actually very reasonable.

Chef Albert was the consummate host and his B&B couldnt have offered a better location and atmosphere. A perfect couples getaway. Right in the middle of busy Thames St. with the marina steps off the back door. Well be back!!

If you want authentic French cuisine, Bouchard is the place to go. Very comfortable, quaint, and quiet. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Get a Kir Royale and have a memorable evening!
