First few times here, we really liked it. But as of late, its not been that great at all. Every time weve been here, its crowded. Count on waiting at least 20-30 minutes, which weve been willing to do because the food was always good. But on our last visit, we arrived around 8pm, and we had the usual 30 minute wait. Once we got seated, we tried to order right away as we had commitments still to get to that evening. The waitress was fine, and she was pleasant and refilled drinks, etc.... But the food was mediocre, at best. By the time it was served, it was all luke-warm, like it had been sitting & waiting for someone to bring it to the table for 20-30 minutes. I had ordered a build your own combo, and had included the beef brisket. Normally, its very good, but this was very fatty. And, I know, brisket can be a fatty cut, but Ive had it here before and they must have trimmed it better or something because it has never been this fatty before. Ill pass on the brisket in the future. We thought about asking them to warm everything up, but we were pressed for time by the time the food was served, so we just ate what we could and left. Ill be looking for another place for good bbq the next time we want to go for bbq. Anyone have suggestions?

We had a party of four, plus our 8 month old baby. We used “call ahead” seating because I have seen this York Smokey Bones packed. The manager herself approved it since we had a small baby. It was busy but we did not have to wait. We ordered wings and the sirloin steaks. Our drinks were perfect from the bar. All was tasty and cooked to our orders. Wait staff worked as a team to get us food and drink as quickly as possible. They played and entertained our baby, allowing us to enjoy this delicious meal. No other restaurant has ever gone above and beyond like that. The manager came around, and I praised her for having such a warm and welcoming visit. We all had a great experience for this visit. I love how accommodating, respectful, and “put the customer first policy” they must have. You do not see that at other restaurants. We will be back to Smokey Bones in York for sure!

Been to SB a few times, always good food and service until now. Got there and was told it was a 30 min wait. After 30 min we were told it would be another 30 min. So finally after waiting 40 min we got our table. Took forever to get our drinks and appetizers. Once we got them we had no napkins and silverware. Our waitress instead of doing her job was at a table over chatting with a couple she knew about personal matters instead of serving us. All in all it took two hours from the time we got there till the time we got our food, and it wasnt that great. Very dissapointed in what happened. SB has always been one of my favorite places to eat.

My family and I recently visited the York, PA location and I will never return. Once inside and seated with a direct view of the kitchen I noticed a cook with bare hands eating off of plates about to be served to the public. Then he proceeded to lick his fingers and continue to handle and serve raw and cooked foods without washing his hands. This happened at least 3 times over the evening. Most of the wait staff does not pull their hair back and several were constantly playing with it and not following food safety guidelines. Great place to dine if you dont believe in shigella or staph.

Matt (our bartender) was great as usual and the atmosphere is pretty good. The sampler appetizer, however, was hit or miss. The chicken tenders were awesome, the onion rings were good, the "loaded" fries and what they call nachos were, however, terrible. Both were cold, the fries just tasted bad, and the nachos were essentially nothing but chips with some shredded cheese on it that wasnt even melted and a healthy portion of sour creme (the only thing they did get right). We hardly touched the fries or nachos and ended up making food at home, which is what we had wanted to avoid.

Just ok. Service was very good but they were out of brisket, and both menu items I had picked included brisket so I went with a steak spinach salad which was good but dressing too heavy, should have asked for it on the side. Nothing with it, no bread, crackers etc. my husband had a pork Sammy which was small and also no fries or chips included and he paid extra for salad. So thee stars , moderate price for little food. The fried dill pickles appetizer was really good, tho

My wife and I and our three grandchildren had been traveling from northeast pa. And we all were both very hungry and tired !! Stopping in your York restaurant was absolutely the best idea !!, from the greeter, to the waitress, everyone was extremely cheerful and helpful!! The food was perfect and priced exactly for families ! The atmosphere was very clean and fun ! We will definetly be returning to this particular smokey bones !!!

Ordered the Nutty chicken salad. The salad is to have strawberries and cranberries. It came with 1 little strawberry in the center and about 6 cranberries. When I asked for more of the 2 items the waitress came back with a little white round dish of some nuts with some cranberries and again 1 strawberry. I am not sure is there a shortage of this good item? If so it needs to be removed from the menu until it becomes available.

Enjoy my visits. Wanted to join the bones club. Address given doesnt work. Searched and got to another way in. Filled application to get 100 points - last question was to enter mobile number - not required - but necessary to get text messages. Not interested BUT without, wont let me enter. Ouch - does this mean I have to "pay" for my membership by accepting your texts at my expense????

Food was good. Not the best this time. But we were hungry so warm was ok. Service was very poor. Server told us to "check out the drink menu" when asked about what was offered. Server took order and we never saw her again. Manager tried to fix a salvage what experience there was but it was too late. We only like to come here when Jen (bar manager) works. Other times not so much.

Damn good BBQ. This place lives up to its name too, as the food has a distinctive smokey flavor profile. Further, the sauces are delightful, even though the food stands on its own. Ive had a bit of everything, including steak, wings, ribs, chicken, potatoes, and sausage. Its all good. Try the cocktails and tell the balloon guy to make you a ninja turtle!

Had the loaded nachos. They were 10. More than most places and didnt have a lot of sauce peppers and cheese. We also had the double ribs 1/3 baby back and 1/3 st louis rub. They were extremely dry. Tasted horrible. The service, atmosphere, and everything else was excellent. Dont knock it until you try it. Maybe they just over cooked the ribs that day.
