Ordered a carry out order at 9 PM.... they close at 9:30... bartender immediately makes it known they close at 9:30 even though we live right across the street.... doesnt explain the menu... doesnt explain anything or go into detail about anything ..a simple "what do you want?" ..... I order brown rice thinking its a brown or white option... husband comes back and the rice taste like buck wheat... Im livid... I call back bartender tells me its my fault and I ordered it and proceeds to go back and forth with me over the phone... "its brown, white, or fried,"... he tells me after I have ordered my food.... yelling and screaming we are going back and forth.... he didnt ask to fix it... didnt ask me if I was satisfied .... my only response was "Thats what you ordered." I wont be returning unless the bartender is fired and Im telling everyone I know to NEVER eat here because of such poor customer service. It is a reason they are slow. I feel sorry for the owners ... their business will suffer cuz of the awful customer service ..... by the way my husband said while waiting on the food, the bartender was making fun of people with southern accents.

OK... I lived in Tokyo off and on for 3 years, plus always frequent Sushi in California, with out any negative effects.. We thought the food was great as well as the service, but before I even left the establishment, my stomach was already churning something fierce.. within an hour each family member was running to the lieu, stricken with discomfort hours into the night. As the night wore on I felt quite weak, and eventually had to take some medicine to relieve the symptoms before sleeping. I have tried to call today/ Saturday, and inquire if they use MSG in their cooking, since the only person who was not sick, ate only Sashimi. But, havent been able to reach anyone.. sooo... BEware if you have a sensitive stomach!!

Just returned from dinner at Katana and not impressed what so ever. First, my husband ordered beef tataki (which is supposed to be served cold) was still warm and not the best. The hibachi was ok not very flavorful and boring. I read the reviews about it being "authentic", but I didnt think it was very authentic with mostly bland food. I think Mirakuya and Mizu Sushi are MUCH better both in atmosphere and taste.

Absolutely love love love this place. have been coming here for years and never have been disappointed. Chris the hibachi chef is one of a kind and never lets us down. the owners are personable and always makes us feel welcomed. sushi and hibachi are the best around. theres no better place in the valley.

First and last time eating here. Had to wait over an hour and a half for sushi and the waitress rolled her eyes at us when we werent sure what we wanted to drink. Gave us attitude then she slams the food down at other couple with us. Sushi is lousy, service is extremely lousy was not impressed at all.

I love stopping by the Katana when Im in NEPA visiting my parents. I think its a generally good place to go for hibachi, and has an above average hibachi experience. I went to HS with the owners son, and he had always spoken of how dedicated his family is to the business.

The best sushi is made IN Japan. These guys come realy close to it, and I mean close! Top quality sushi, great service and a good habachi experience too, I go there all the time and Im never disappointed! Highly recommended that you go there.

Sushi? Katana is the only place I recommend. We may be traveling across the country or around the world,once we land at Avoca, if we are hungry, we go to Katana. Tuna Tetaki at Katana is amazing.

Terrible experience right from the start. Waitress was very unqualified & her attitude was extremely offensive. Insulted my young daughter who is disabled. Would not recommend this establishment to anyone!
