Like everyone else has already stated, Blue Fin has *unbelievable* food. I have been to numerous sushi restaurants (about 30-40 different ones), and I can say that Blue Fin was without a doubt the best. The chef, Evan, is in a league of his own. He is really cool too, he always gives me free sashimi pieces with my rolls, and free miso soup too. I eat there every time Im in VB. The only bad thing I can say about Blue Fin is that once you try their sushi, you will never view sushi the same way again. Every time I eat at another sushi restaurant I am thinking in the back of my head about how Blue Fins sushi is better. Their special rolls are really where its at! They are like two rolls on top of each other, and are loaded with the freshest fish- they dont rely on cucumber to fill the roll like some other places do. Try the Virginia Beach roll (for those who dont like raw fish, but even if you do you have to try this roll), the domo roll, the sweetheart roll, and the red spider roll. You really cant miss, every roll is delicious in its own way. Their Korean food is the bomb as well. Try their spicy pork! It will feed two and its only $15. Also, if you like cooked fish, try their yellowtail cheek- very tender, juicy, and flavorful!!

For New Years Eve we decided we wanted to go out for dinner and for us that typically means Sushi! We are new to the Virginia Beach area so still trying to learn new places after we spotted Blue Fin in the Hilltop shopping area I checked out the reviews and found myself so excited to go there and let me tell you my boyfriend and I LOVE Sushi so we are big time critics and from the second we walked and and met Evan we felt right at home we told him of the great reviews we read and to say we were not disappointed would be a serious understatement! This was simply THE BEST SUSHI we have ever had and topped off by getting to know Evan and learning of how he started as a Sushi Chef at the age of 14! WOW all I can say is we will never go anywhere else for Sushi and thank you Evan for Kicking off our new year in style and making it extra special cant wait to come back for the lunch special...see you again very soon!

The fish is always the freshest, the taste combinations are imaginative (& tasty), the portions are generous, the check doesnt hurt. Very kid friendly and casual. The 2nd time we went, we got to talk to Evan, the chef. His philosophy is "the first time you come in, you are my customer, the 2nd time youre my friend, the 3rd time youre my family." They remember your name, your favorite drink, and suggest things you might like based on previous visits. LOTS of imaginative sushi rolls with an emphasis on real crab with a Chesapeake Bay twist. Presentation is beautiful. Sashimi is always very high quality

Food was excellent. The service was good. Well laid out and inviting. Our only issues was that it seemed like a long time between when we got our appetizers and main course. Our daughter got a plate from the kitchen and had just about finished her meal by the time we got ours. However it was totally worth the wait the rolls we got were great(Gangnam style(this was definitely a winner) and a Philadelphia roll) . Totally recommend this establishment to those looking for a good sushi spot.

Chef special was brought out on a watery plate, sushi tasted off, overpriced compared to what it was last time I went and compared to most places in the area, the Kim Chi is from a jar, the menu is not simple, they microwave a LOT of their food, had a small child working in the kitchen, service was bad, bad/no atmosphere in the back and a bright spotlight in my eye the whole time. Im glad I retried this place because now I know to never eat there again. What a costly lesson though.

I could not stand sushi until my coworker brought me here last year. This is the only sushi place that I can eat from. The sushi is spectacular and very delicious, and this is coming from someone who couldnt even keep down sushi a year ago. The kitchen entrées are equally as delicious; best chicken fried rice Ive ever had. Clean, cozy, beautifully designed interior, and great service. Please, do yourself a favor, come to Blue Fin.

Ive been to every sushi restaurant in Virginia Beach and Blue Fin is absolutely the very best. They dont give small amounts of fish with lots of fillers in the rolls. I had spicy tuna rolls and the fish was so fresh. After eating here I wont be going anywhere else when I have a sushi craving. I cant wait to bring my fellow sushi loving daughter here.

The best sushi I have ever had. I tell everyone i can about Blue Fin. It is the best restaurant I have ever been too. Try the Wasabi shumai (dumplings). they are my favorite. The blue fin soup is excellent as well. E is funny and his sushi rolls are delicious works of art. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

I honestly was really hopeful about this place but honestly it has a looong way to go my daughters food smelt horrible the sushi had the bad kind of fishy taste to it and the salad didnt even have crisp lettuce...I really dont recommend this place at all.

Great food! All the ingredients were fresh and the service was top notch- friendly and helpful without being cloying and grating. Ordered the shumai as an appetizer and it tasted delicious and authentic. Would definitely recommend this restaurant!

Horrible service: We arrived at 8:45pm, we were seated by the hotness immediately and by 9:03 no one had even come to take our drink order. We ended up leaving and going to volcano sushi a few miles away and it was amazing!!!!

I have been to many sushi places in my life. This is THE BEST place Ive ever eaten at. I travel 2 hours to eat here. It is a must!! The OMG roll and the Crunch rolls are my favorite.

The owner made my sushi and the owner is japanese.... Always a good sign when a japanese guy is crafting your sushi!
