I have to review our memorial day breakfast at Brookside because it was so lousy! This was the second time in a row i came for the breakfast buffet where the food was overdone. I had 3 ten yr. olds from a sleepover and myself. Just about everything was severely overcooked, bacon was burnt, little round homefries were like rocks and the pancakes were like cardboard! The 10 yr. old boys were eating watermelon and when they went up for their 3rd helping one of the women working there gave them a hard time. They wouldnt of had to eat that much watermelon if the other food was any good. They also stated they did not like the food either, so it was not just me! Upon checkout i was not greeted friendly by the overweight, grumpy, dirty blonde woman who looked angry. She asked me how everything was, so i honestly told her because i felt they need to know. After telling her the food was overdone, she said in a cocky voice "everyone else likes it". So i started to walk to the exit and i hear her tell the next patron in line about what i had said. I could not believe my ears, so i walk to the door and yell back for her to cheer up! Wow, i cannot believe that lady works the register, she has no business dealing with people. Sorry to say i will never be back for breakfast at Brookside after this. The food was lousy and i do not ever want to see that lady again!!

You have to chose at least one star to give a review or this plave would get 0 stars. After being a weekly customer for several years, we had the worst experience ever!! We were told by Sara the hostess that we could NOT have a booth because she was seating tables, when I explained I have a 2 year old she would be very uncomfortable and we are willing to wait for a booth; Sara put her nose in the air and gave us the most unkind look pretty much to say take it or leave it. There were 2 open booths??? We should have walked out then and there. It was 10 Am the Buffet was sparse, waited 10 minutes for scrambled eggs. A Childs pancake took over 30 minutes, and we were charged $5.49 for 1 pancake? After such a long wait, we ended up wrapping up our food to go. Will never go there again. You are not treated well and the owners also seem to have no respect for their customers just making excuse after excuse, we were slammed. bla bla. If you wish to run a successful business, a business owner should be prepared and euipped for their customers, not make excuses for mistreating your customers. These owners lack consideration, grace and humility. Lousy go anywhere but here.

Have been going here for years, today my wife asked for a to go cup for a refill that was offered and was told... NO because its a refill.. she couldnt have a to go cup... the idiot waitress then said she would get the "manager"... my wife figured it would be no problem as we have been there frequently for many years.. and the manager knew us.. well, she was wrong... manager tells us there is a forty cent charge... at this point I interjected that we had NEVER been charged for a to go cup.. she said well, they made a mistake (for 9 years???) and again stated the forty cent charge was their "policy "... so you are willing to lose a long time customer for forty cents,,,???? Apparently the answer is yes... we will NEVER GO BACK..

I was very excited to find this place but after dining there I was deeply disappointed. Our waitress seemed to possibly funding a private college fund because everything we asked for was extra...worse we never got anything we had asked for! Our beverage glasses sat the during entire meal empty ...not once did she refill them or even come back with water. I asked for the manager and she told me that beverage refills were free as was the items we had asked for I explained not only were we told there was a charge but she never came back except to throw a check on the table. Not good will not go back !

Seven of us, ages 5 (my daughter) to 60, just returned from dinner at Brookside, and I was pleasantly surprised, considering the reviews I read before going. The portions were large and quite tasty, especially for the price. There were several dishes that included crab cakes, and I can understand why. They were excellent. Although the average age of patrons was 50+, 20-somethings would feel comfortable eating there. Service, entrees, and dessert were all excellent.

Will never go back can not believe manager wanted to charge for a to go cup that I didnt even ask for the refill. We have spent thousands of dollars at this place and several of the servers are very nice. We will be dining at Americana up 1st 100 or limerick but we will NEVER spend another cent at this place as the management/owner doesnt give a dann about customer service

This place has an amazing breakfast buffet! Very inexpensive. Family oriented. Nice wait staff. Line can be pretty long for buffet at times. Every kind of breakfast item you can think of. Also, fresh fruit,cookies, danish and doughnuts. Only thing I wish they would change is have the buffet every day of the week. There are very few places around here for buffet anymore.

Waited half hour for a table because Im in a wheelchair. The haddock dinner that came with salad sells for $11.99. I didnt like the fish. The manager removed the fish dinner from my meal, but still had to pay $7.99 for a salad that was included with the fish, and was only a one plate trip to the salad bar.

The breakfast buffet is well worth the price HOWEVER Ive never seen any restaurant leave the sausage links floating in water to keep them warm???!!! That is just gross it makes the links spongy and tasteless. Everything else was good as was the service

Waitress was nice but the food wasnt. Very dry meat and could only eat half. Still had to pay full price for 3 meals. Manager should of compensated. Lobster Bisque soup was also a lumpy tasteless mess.

The waitresss like to insult customers by insisting that they need to order off the senior menu even though they are no where close to being a senior! Food is not that great either! Stay away!

Average diner food. The standouts are the lunchtime salad bar and the breakfast buffet on weekend mornings. The buffet is a good value and the restaurant is pretty crowded during those times

Went here on Sun Morning for the first time and will never go back. I got the breakfast buffet and the food was gold. I even tried several different things and everything was cold.

I ordered takeout. I ordered a wheat egg and cheese and recieved a white egg and cheese. I also ordered pancakes and recieved no utensils or napkins. Disappointing.

The service is great. Never a long wait to get seated and the food is always very good with large portions at a price that is easy on the wallet.
