Buffets are a hit and miss, much more often a miss than a hit. And King Buffet falls squarely in that "miss" bucket. There are several things that I did not like about my experiences here and it is hard to know where to begin. Maybe I will start off by noting that the vast majority of things we tried were either overcooked or over-seasoned (or both). Also, while there is a wide assortment of things relative to a typical Chinese buffet, they fall *far* *far* below what one would expect at any decent restaurant. Yes, there were "crab cakes" on the menu but I swear to God, that if you could find any chunks of crabmeat in those "crab cakes", you have a promising career as a detective at a forensic lab! Oh yes, there was sushi but if you took even one look at the wasabi, you would know that the pale green paste they had out there was anything but wasabi. I could go on and on about other aspects of the food too. As far as it comes to service, the restaurant falls short as well. We came in at around 10 p.m. on a Saturday but even though they are supposed to be open until 11 p.m., I found quite a few stations empty. I had to point that out to at least 3 employees before one of them offered help and decided to replenish some of the empty stations. Of course, conveying things is harder if employees dont speak English which seemed to be the case with quite a few of them. Then again, even though they were supposed to be open until 11, they gave us our check at 10:45 and started clearing out the food at around 10:50. Its also worth mentioning that I did not get any refills on my water. Lastly, as my picture of the restroom attests to, the trash bin was a mess but no one seemed to care. I even saw an employee who used the restroom and left, without bothering to bring the mess to anyones attention. I guess he just didnt care. If all of this very mediocre food and indifferent service came with rock-bottom prices, somewhere in the neighborhood of say, $10 it may have been acceptable but prices here are higher at $14/ person. Both my wife and I thought that was too high for the suburbs given what they were offering. If I have one suggestion for the restaurant, it would be that they can have fewer items on their menu but try doing a better job of cooking the items and not bringing standards down to the absolute lowest common denominator. And perhaps putting a bit of effort into the ambience of the restaurant - cleaning up the bathrooms as they get dirty over the night, keeping the ice cream station cleaner, preventing unruly kids from running amok, and maybe even teaching their staff basic English. But sadly if I could discern anything about the attitude of the management, it was - we couldnt care less and we couldnt be bothered. Unless I am out of my mind, this is the last time I have stepped foot inside King Buffet.

I have gone there ever since it first opened. It is very nice, the service is quick, food is quickly replaced and there is a huge variety of choices. Bathrooms are clean as well as the rest of the place. The only problem is PARKING, since the mall has undergone expansion and the area around King Buffet is littered with other restaurants (P.F. Changs, California Pizza Kitchen, and another high end American Restaturant) so parking is very difficult if not impossible to find during the dinner rush. Although you might be tempted to try the other restaurants, go to King Buffet if you want to be filled and stuffed. P.F. Changs is ok, but not the best, its American Chinese Food. Would you really only want to eat pizza for dinner? The good thing is that the restaurants have brought competition so the buffet is constantly improving. Everytime I go there, when I have the chance, there is always something new. The sushi is very good, lots of it, and about 5 varieties. I have never gotten sick, although some people might have, I dont know why. Otherwise, go here and you will definitely be stuffed with good quality asian food. This is by far the best asian buffet I have ever gone to. Hope this is helpful.

Usually i have a great experience. On the last visit back in August...i got one of the worst health scares of my life.....#MSG? in the food? Specifically the Crab Legs-which i never eat. and the #Aspartame in the diet coke- which I never drink but did on that occasion. The next day i could barely lift my head off of the pillow. All the indicators were there, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, loss of balance. What could it be i asked myself? Suddenly i was shaking violently....a seizure? another stroke?...was I going to die? I bit my tongue hard. As soon as I was able, I drank loads of #kangen water.....Later i thought { The cost for that meal for the two of us came to $33 dollars not counting tips } But for $100 I could buy 45 meals, Certified free of MSG , no # GMOs, #Low Glycemic, #Gluten Free, No Artificial Preservatives or flavors,# Kosher and tastes just as good and takes only ten minutes to prepare. Saving me travel time, #money , meets all of my dietary needs and fits perfectly into my busy "grab and #go food global" #lifestyle.

Reviews Matter
I WISH I COULD GIVE THIS PLACE A NEGATIVE 5 STAR REVIEW! I have never been so disgusted by a restaurant. All of the staff is RUDE!!! Sadly to say, the OWNER is even more rude!!!! The restaurant is dirty, and there was some type of bug crawling on my chair. I assume it to be some type of roach. They also place the old left out food ontop of the new fresh food they bring out. The shrimp smelled like something had died, came back to life, and died all over again. On top of that when we finally and thankfully left after trying to flag down our server forever for the check, we both became violently ill. This i assume was food poisoning of some sort. This place is just a downright filthy resturant that the health department needs to come out and look into. I will never ever go back to this place again. DISGUSTED by the cleanliness and rudeness of this "so called restaurant". So ontop of the poisonus food they are serving the public, the owner is an a**hole. Not sure how this business stays afloat. Thanks for the terrible experience.

Weve been coming 2-3 times a month for about a year now. There hasnt been a time that we havent left fully satisfied with the quality of food and customer service. I am a sushi connoisseur and have tried sushi all over the world. I can honestly say that King Buffets sushi is up to par or better than any other place. Even when we got there with 30 minutes to closing time and they were running low on sushi, they would always accommodate me by making me any sushi roll of my choice and would also bring it to our table. And all this comes at a 90% lower price than other sushi places. Their other food is exceptional as well and there is absolutely a wide assortment of different food. Dessert options are excellent as well. Overall, we love this place and will keep coming back.
