I finally went into Zen, on the corner of Stanton and Butler after avoiding the other sketchy Chinese place that was there since I moved to the neighborhood. I wasnt sure there would be much of a difference in terms of décor, but when I walked in I was really surprised. The atmosphere was clean, simple and hip. There was a really friendly face behind the counter and he took my order with ease, telling me the story of how he came to be back in his own building! He sold the place to the other owners, than just bought it back from them to do the renovation. When I came to pick up the food, the whole kitchen staff came to the door to say hello, and said thank you for trying them out, I have never had such a greeting! The food was delicious, plus we got a lot more than expected! Many meals come with sushi (maybe California rolls) so on top of the rolls we ordered, we had extra. The chicken dishes were well cooked and flavored- the sauce (maybe duck) was great for the dumplings I ordered. Everything was juicy and colorful. Next time, my husband and I want to dine in to experience all of Zen!

Not sure the chicken is real chicken. Some pieces in the Moo Goo Gai Pan were like plastic. I could not bite thru it (and its thinly sliced!) There was no filling in the Eggrolls (they didnt put any cabbage but there were two small shrimp) The fried rice is that weird yellow fast food stuff. Flavor was wrong. Wonton soup was oily and filled with those thick doughed wontons with the premade center that looks like a little hamburger of pork. Not good and it cost 30 bucks

We live nearby and are so glad this place opened up! The food is great - try the vegetable tempura and order a pot of tea. Prices are very reasonable for a lot of food, and the staff is very attentive. I dont eat meat but my +1 tells me the pork dumplings are really good too : ).

Took an hour and 40 minutes to bring my food.. Supposedly they made my food but forgot to give it to the delivery man.. Didnt apologize or give a refund.. The food was okay, wouldve been much better if it was hot.. Didnt receive ANY silverware or napkins. JERKS.

I love ordering from them because they provide delicious , generous quality grub for an affordable price. Zen is ....zen! Yes , sometimes it takes a while for them to deliver but its worth the wait. Bento box has a lot of food/nice variety for less than $10

Their delivery is super fast, the food is really tasty, and when I didnt read the fine print of a Groupon and tried to use it incorrectly, they took it anyway and saved me a ton of hassle. Best Chinese delivery in Pittsburgh!

Ordered delivery and it arrived an hour and a half later and very cold. The sweet and sour chicken did not come with sauce. When we called to report the situation they said it was because we ordered on a Sunday. ????

Its great that you can get sushi delivered. Plan for around an hour to get food. Generous portions and good sushi. The Chinese food was just okay. No hot chiles in my Kung Pao chicken. Which is the whole point.

Sushi has always been of good quality and service is fine. Hot dishes are tasty and they have good vegetarian options. I like the sautéed broccoli with tofu. The triple green veg is also enjoyable.

No fountain drinks or water. All beverages are canned or bottled, so theres no free refills. Food is a bit steep for how much you get. But the food was thankfully good.
