Margaritas (on the rocks), enchiladas, *anything* off of the "chefs specialties" part of the menu, spicy grilled shrimp & OHHHH THE WINGS! I know, you wouldnt typically think of wings for a Mexican restaurant, but they are amazing here! They grill them after they cook them, so they have tasty char lines & crispy skin (chewy wings are the WORST, in my opinion). They are definitely on the spicy side, so order a margarita to cool your mouth. They are the perfect combo of pleasure & heat for me, though. I always get an extra side of the hot sauce to play with, too. They take about 20 minutes to make, so dont be surprised; but the entree items can come out so quickly that I like the extra time because I can get in mire date time & maybe another drink! Haha. Ok, enough about the wings... To be honest, I didnt like this place that much before someone explained to me that I was ordering wrong. Order off the "chefs specialties" & you cant go wrong. Its when you try to build your own meal that things can go awry. Leave it to the pros, people! OH! And their spicy shrimp! They are also grilled & I wish I could watch them season these things... I dont like shrimp most places, but the flavor is so awesome & theyve always been cooked perfectly. I dont think theyre listed as their own thing, but they are listed as add-ons to other meals; so when Im the mood for them, I just ask I could have a side order & they have always accommodated. Finally, try to sit in the back room. Its much quieter than the front & I like the darker lighting, too. We dont really bring the kids here because it is kind of small inside & kids need a little extra elbow room, but maybe cozy is a better word? Nice local joint with a cozy atmosphere & very tasty, authentic food & drinks. Enjoy!

We live about 2 minutes away - so I really want to love this place and be able to support a local restaurant. The problem is, the service is awful and the food is really mediocre. On more than one occasion the guy who often hosts/manages (is he related to owners, one of them, not sure) - hes so arrogant, condescending and rude. The most recent time was after we used the "NoWait" app to join the line. It said we had a 45 minute wait when we signed up. Less than 15 minutes later, we got a text that our table was ready. Well, we werent there yet - we showed up about 20 minutes later with our 18month old little one in tow while it was snowing buckets outside. He told us - rudely - that hed texted over 30 minutes ago and he cant just hold table forever while motioning to his full waiting area. My partner was very pleasant, apologized and asked what the process was from there. He said hed have to get us back on the list - we asked how long that would mean and he said its currently about an hr. So, we said "Oh you mean put us at the bottom of the list". He said yeah, of course, you werent here when your table was ready, so its an hour wait now. Actually, sir, the right thing to do in this situation is to seat us at the next 2/3 top you have - you didnt lose our table earlier and we didnt just join the line. Its not anyones fault if your line moves more quickly than you anticipate - but how you handle it is completely within your control. Dont adopt a technology if you cant implement it correctly. Sorry, we wont be back - and well let as many people as we can know about our experience. Its sad when an owner/manager can ruin a place so completely, when they had the opportunity to make someones experience great.

I used to really love this place for a long time but as of recently I had two bad experiences and have not returned since. But before I get into that I do want to say the margaritas are out of this world! Bad experience number one was dramatically dry beans when I went with my sister and we didnt think too much of it because typically we had a great time. The salsa portion with our chips was very small too. Number two I ordered the mole and it was sickeningly sweet, even for my sister who has a sweet tooth. I had her try it to make sure I wasnt insane. Anyways i didnt eat more than one bite and the bite my sister took. Waiter comes back he was a bit sketchy seeming definitely a new hire and asked why I havent eaten that much. I told him it was too sweet for me and I have had mole in the past it was never that sweet. He said mole is always sweet and did not even ask if I wanted to order something else. It wasnt until he asked if I wanted a box that I asked to speak to the manager because obviously I didnt want a box for food I wasnt going to eat! He said he would get him and forty five minutes had passed still nothing. He claimed he was in an interview and told him about the situation and said he would deal with it after. At this point my sister and I were annoyed and ready to leave so we decided we would wait fifteen more minutes so this would be an hour of waiting just for that. He never came out and the waiter said he couldnt do anything about the situation for me. So I paid for a meal that I did not even eat or enjoy and never went back. I used to love this place though.

My husband and I wanted to try a different Mexican restaurant other than the usual options in the Pittsburgh area. When we entered the establishment it wasnt very busy, but this is due to the time we visited the Franklin Inn which was around at lunch time. The restaurant did not seem very clean--the table behind us, which was empty had food scattered all over the floor and the environment was kind of stale. We were approached by a teenage girl who imediately took our drink order. When we placed our order, my husband ordered the taco meal. She had to ask twice how many tacos he wanted when the menu clearly stated how many tacos you receive with the meal. Once she walked away with our order, within minutes she had to come back and ask again what sides he picked with his order. We received our food and it poor at best. The pinto beans obviously came from a can and the ground meat was terrible. You would had received a better tasting meal going through the Taco Bell drive thru. To their credit, the guacamole was very good, but that was the only good tasting thing out of the meal. It was difficult to get our drinks refilled and to get our check because our teenage waitress was too busy talking to a group of her friends that were also visiting the restaurant at the same time and was taking selfies with them! Once her friends left, she still did not acknowledge us and walked away. I had to approach her with my credit card to pay the bill. At that time, she was texting. Poor food and service and I would not visit again.
