Cutesy decor cannot compensate for the absolutely crappy mexican food here. Spotted a mexican cook picking his nose and eating it in the kitchen. Stodgy burrito, cold, barely warmed up enough in the microwave visible behind the bar. Burrito had no beans, salsa, guacamole, or cream, and the douchebag waiter didnt ask me if I wanted any either. HE played drums on the bar like a wannabe Tom Cruise in "Cocktail." Had to ask for fixins separately. Finally some sickly throw-up version of refried beans from a can and yukky sour cream-dog puke came. By this time the "burrito" was cold. This food belongs in the garbage. What an insult to even slightly selective people. Seriously, Taco Bell is WAYY better, and comes without the condescending self-adulation of the wait stafff. They ought to get a job at abercrombie and fitch- this is adolescent narccissism at its worst. Bartender spent the whole evening adjusting his hair and texting someone. GEt a real job, get a life.

This used to be my and my boyfriends go to dinner spot at least 2 twice a month, if not once a week. We both LOVED it. The last two times we went where not good at all. We figured we would give it one last shot. And it was awful. And the prices of everything went up! My guacamole was brown/gray, our queso wasnt hot, my taco salad was very soggy and had very little my besides peppers. His Fajita quesadilla was basically cheese with a few pieces of meat. All in all, the food quality and sizes went way down and the price went way up. Our bill normally would be between $45-$50 depending on how many drinks we had, this time is was $70! And the food wasnt even good! It saddens me to say this, but it is Time to find a new weekly date night.

I like other El Campesino locations, but this one offered one of the worst dining experiences Ive had lately. The service was terrible (we had to ASK for water, and when they brought it it was only for the single person who asked, not for the entire table.) The food was terrible - I had a combination platter, and everything containing ground beef was bland to the point of tasting bad. We had to flag down our server several times. It seemed like they were shutting the place down for the night, but it was still relatively early. Overall I support the chain (the on in Monroeville is ALWAYS spot-on), but this location needs some serious attention.

I had a 5 star review here previously, and im very sad to drop it to a 3. The food is unchanged – still good and still fast. Looking for a quick, inexpensive lunch? This is your place! Unfortunately, the atmosphere has taken a kick in the teeth. What previously felt like a private, rustic, neighborhood find (at least on the inside) now feels like an Americanized-Mexico-themed fire hall. I work in design so Im probably a tough critic, but if youre looking for a great date-night or fun group experience, I would suggest you take it elsewhere.

I SAW THE SHORT BALD HEAD MEXICAN TAKE TORTILLA CHIPS OFF THE FLOOR AND SERVE THEM TO A NEIGHBORING TABLE! I TOLD THE MANAGER AND ALL HE SAID WAS, "HOW DID YOU SEE THAT" SO I TOLD HIM TO SIT IN MY SIT TO SEE MY VIEW. WE HAD A PARTY OF 4 AND WE JUST WALKED OUT WITHOUT PAYING. NO ONE FOLLOWED US OUT EVEN THOUGH WE DIDNT PAY. IF OUR ACCUSATIONS WERE WRONG THEN WOULDNT THEY DEMAND PAYMENT? NEEDLESS TO SAY I ADVISE NO ONE TO GO TO THIS PLACE!

We love El Campasino! I had the Enchiladas Mexicanas and they were awesome. Juicy shredded pork with a little bit of a crust in a spicy enchilada sauce with guacamole, rice and beans. The raspberry margarita was good and was pretty huge for being the "medium" sized one. Service was great, as usual, and the kids enjoyed the chicken fingers and fries. El Campasino will continue to be a family favorite.

Food was pretty good, and there were a ton of options. The staff and service were awesome. This place is inside of a strip mall and from the outside does not look like much, but on the inside is nice and clean. There is a bar that is off to the side of the actual restaurant which is nice for happy hour, and keeps the bar and restaurant atmospheres separate.

Ordered beef tacos, enchaladas and borito. Boritos come with just cheese and ground beef..mine didnt even have cheese, just very salty beef, enchaladas were just like the borito and the tacos were the same salty beef with but of vegetables...will not return to this place again as this is my second time and still disappointing..

Been going here for 5 years and still love it! I will not claim to being an expert on Mexican cuisine however I will tell you that my girlfriend and I enjoy the food and are rarely disappointed with the service. She digs the cheese dip with chorizo and I always go for the #10. Try the blue margarita!

Good prices, good food, good all around. Only complaint is that when we were there, it could have been the time of day or a one time only thing (havent gone back to check yet), was that there was a lack of staff and it took a while to get served. Beyond that, Ive told friends and family to check it out.

This place isnt anymore Mexican than taco bell. I ordered a carne asada burrito and they brought me ground beef with taco seasoning in a tortilla...NOT EVEN CLOSE!! If you actually enjoy Mexican food eat someplace else. If you enjoy taco bell food and flavor for higher prices, youre gonna love it.

They desperately need new bartenders! Omg It doesnt seem like they are even going to stay in business much longer . Inconsistency and sloppiness. Dont they know they are surrounded by fantastic eateries ? Theyve lost hope in attracting customers it seems . One day food is god, the next its not

Really good mexican food. From california (where mexican food is supposively the best! They offer a good selection for a good price! Was skeptical to try it because I think the location is not very customer friendly. But definitely was good. Have to try the queso when you go it is great!

The food is good but the enchiladas not so much. You either get only beans in your enchiladas or only cheese. The churros DO NOT ORDER THEM because they have really big ones with Apple filling in them and whipp cream. Plus if you add the choclate its worse. Overall I disliked it.

Horrible service.. Rude staff... Was empty when I was there right before happy hour...I asked about what the happy hours specials were and was rudely told I couldnt get happy hour yet....I couldnt wait to leave... Fastest trip to a restaurant in a while...I will not be back....

Favorite restaurant! Great authentic Mexican food. Always get the grilled Cazuelada for two (shrimp, beef, chicken). Feeds us several nights! Great flavors, reasonable prices, fast service, hot chips and food. Best anywhere. (Broken-hearted when the Wexford location closed.)

Food was good. Service was okay. Check your bill because I ordered ala carte and they charged me for the meal which was 3x the price. After bringing this to the servers attention, he said there was nothing he could do about it so I paid the bill, but didnt tip.
