Fool me twice, shame on you. Fool me thrice, shame on me. Well fortunately for me, there will be no third. Two times a charm for me here! (this is based on take out once, and dine in once) Great service, great decor, but food was quite poor. Constructive criticism: 1. Dont overcook your chicken. It was quite dry and not pleasant to eat. 2. Slow cook your curries so that the flavor actually sets into the meat. I am a cook and know what you did here. The chicken was cooked separately in a batch, rather poorly in both occasions. Then it was added to pre aliqouted curries. Tsk Tsk. Karma 3. Your restaurant says authentic. I dont know a place where authentic means fake chutneys for samosa. My chutney should not be so bright green. Is that food coloring? That is not natural, please stop adulterating my food with it. Also, do you even make your own "sweet" chutney? Or do you just buy apple chutney and severely water it down. Either way, you need help here. 4. I dont know if you remember which spices to put in the curry, but chicken muglhai calls for garam masala, cinnamon, bay leaves, amongst other things, yet all i could taste was cream and corriander, along with some yellow tumeric coloring to my fingers. Overall, your restaurant is beautiful and you guys are very nice, but authenthicity is lacking. I suppose your general population does not know much of a difference, and just love the ethnic foods, but its probably only because they know no better. If you cook indian food, this place will surely disappoint you. Mumbai bistro has more flavorful food than this. Either way, this will be my final attempt at this restaurant.

To be perfectly honest, this place serves the best Indian food Ive ever had. Ive been enjoying Indian cuisine for years, and have tried restaurants in several cities, but this is the one place Ive found that serves authentic Indian food, made so fresh and delicious that just keeps me coming back for more! I have so many favorites here, I get different dishes every time I come in. The chicken dishes are just delicious, the lamb is made so tender and full of flavor, and their made-fresh garlic naan bread- the absolute best! My wife, who is not an avid fan of spicy foods or even curry dishes, loves the food at Karma so much that we frequent here often, not to mention she cant get enough of their delicious mango lassi. They recently added a few new desserts to the menu that are simply outstanding. We catered the food for our anniversary party from here earlier this year, and we dealt directly with the owner and I must say it was a delightful experience. He was so friendly and accommodating with all of our requests. Our guests couldnt stop raving about the food. This restaurant is a hidden treasure, an absolute must-try!

Karma remains my favorite Indian restaurant in Philadelphia. I used to live across the street from the restaurant and I would order their Saag Paneer with naan at least twice a week. There Saag Paneer is the best I have had in Philadelphia and has become the standard by which I judge all saag paneer. Their other dishes are delicious as well. There service is also very friendly and attentive. I usually get carryout, but while I wait for my order or look over the menu (before I decided to get saag paneer like every other time) they always bring me a glass of ice water and let me sit at the bar. Their table service is also very attentive. My glass of water was never empty. As for the price, I first thought that they were a little overpriced until I took a bite of the food. Id gladly pay a few dollars more for delicious Indian food than for the subpar Indian food you find in so many West Philadelphia restaurants. I look forward to going to Karma again tomorrow for my birthday lunch. I need a saag paneer fix.

We went to Penns landing and were looking for a place to eat. I liked the name so much that I didnt even look for another restaurant in that area. The food is great. Im a vegetarian and I love places that have more attention to vegetarian dishes. The waiter was nice and cool guy. So they have everything to evolve as a great place to eat. All what they need is a little more professionalism. For example, we wanted a specific table and the restaurant was pretty empty on that weekday. The waiter told me that he cant offer me that table because it was a table for 4! Constructive suggestion: Please tell your waiters to be flexible. The American waiter was cool but the Indian waiter was not!. I have worked part time in an Indian restaurant when I was a student. I was taught that customers are always right. Please teach that to your waiters too! Apart from that.....ALL THE BEST!

We were party of 30,the service was so bad, they made us wait 2.5 hours to get food. When the food arrived it was cold. We were told wed be given 3 entrees and two appetizers for a fixed menu option of $30 per person. They didnt even care to come and ask if we needed more food. For every 12 people on each table they gave us just two servings of appetizers. The food wasnt enough and when we asked for more food they were really rude.I wouldnt even step in that restaurant again. They didnt mention anything in the beginning about charging for tiny bit of left overs, when we were about to pay the bill the owner comes yelling we would charge for left overs which was really rude.

This is one of the best Indian restaurants Ive eaten at in the US! Ive been here twice with two different groups of Indian friends, and we loved the food both times. Their appetizers are very good (Ive tried their tandoori gobi and mixed veggie tandoori platter). I loved their fish biryani enough to have it both times and I highly recommend it. In general, their food is very authentic and tasty. Karma offers spice levels on a 0 to 10 scale with two point increments. Indians, Id recommend a spice level of 6. For everybody else: you cant go too wrong with a harmless 2, although 4 is closer to authentic Indian food if youd like to brave it. :)

I definitely give negative stars to this restaurant and get my money back - I would. This is one of worst experience ever, actually we went to this restaurant for eating good food on the occasion my friends birthday party at night time. I ate cup of rice and shrimp biryani , After eating the food , I got stomach pain and never slept at night. I will never recommend this restaurant to anybody. By the way it was too expensive and they charge you 18% for gratuity which I felt was ridiculous. Dont trust good reviews on this place. My personal genuine experience is that what I eat today it wasnt taste and not good food... Thanks.

Caveat: Vegetarian review This place serves roomali roti. Enough said. Its a reason enough to trek 15 miles to eat at this place. Theres a silver lining to it however. The roomali roti they make is excellent. But if youre from Mumbai (Bombay) you were probably expecting one made of refined white flour (maida). They use whole wheat. So while Karmas version is healthier, it also misses the spot. The dal makhani was good but not worthy of the hours of simmering like the ITC Bukhara hotel. The paneer tikka will not disappoint either. I will revisit this restaurant again to expand my experience of their menu.
