(Summary)You know that feeling you get when youve just ate at a restaurant and its like the food killed you? Stellas is one of the only places where even after a huge meal, youd feel actually fine. (In-depth review)Everything is perfect. The salads, the pasta, and especially the pizza. Ive tried all the pizzas on the menu and everyone of them are amazing. My personal favorite is tartufo where theres black truffle and they crack an egg over it. The food is really unique and sometimes random, but always comes out very nicely. This is a coal-fired oven pizza place where its a little more expensive than usual for pizza but for a high quality meal, its cheaper than the usual. If youd like to fill up 5 people, the price would usually be around 90$. But this place isnt only good for meals. Since the pies are smaller than usual, you could come by for a quick bite for around 30$. I highly recommend this place for anyone downtown as you would fall in love with it immediately and love it every time you come.

Thin crust delicious pizza thats ready fast and inexpensive?? Count me in! I came with the family after a baseball game so it was a big group and we were hungry! We ordered pepperoni, veggie, Hawaiian and a chicken BBQ pizza and they were all delicious!I love the thin crust because its not as filling. The slices are huge so its a good thing its thin crust. I wish the Hawaiian had a little bit more sauce but overall it was good. The veggie pizza had big chunks of bell peppers and tomatoes which I prefer. Could have been a little heavier on the mushrooms though. Lastly the bbq chicken did not disappoint. It had lots of cheese and they had big chicken pieces. It was tender and juicy which I did not expect. I may come back when Im in the area and starving for a good quick bite.

One of my favorite Stephen Starr restaurants; this one benefits from the extensive research they did on pizza crust and toppings before opening. Crust is firm but still chewy (in a good way), and each topping combination Ive tried has been top-notch. I always love a good prosciutto and arugula pizza, but the smoked mozzarella on the San Daniele gives it an extra punch. The Pancetta pizza is another stand-out for me, with lots of rich flavor. During a previous visit, I had the olive oil gelato, which sounds strange but is very creamy and delicious. With so many pizza places in the city, I dont come here often, but it is always in consideration when Im looking for a tasty and sophisticated meal for guests thats not too expensive.

Beyond Amazing!!!! Every single thing about our experience at Pizzeria Stella was perfect! You absolutely cannot beat the atmosphere with the open pizza kitchen, wood-fired oven and brick walls. And, the customer service was wonderful. Everyone there was extremely nice and friendly. (Hard to find friendly people in Philly sometimes...) We sat at the bar and every single pizza that came down the line was beautiful. The oven is perfectly seasoned and makes for the best crust ever! I highly recommend the sheeps milk ricotta and the Rosemary bread... I could eat that every day for the rest of my life! And, every single bite of pizza is great! Weve had pizza all over the world and this is definitely top 5...

It made me come back to Italy with my palate for some seconds. Im an Italian girl that will live here for the next 7 months. I just discovered this place and it is astoundingly great. I tasted the pizza Margherita and it is very good. They have a definitely good olive oil, a juicy and tasty mozzarella and the way they make the tomato sauce is great! The pizza is cooked in brick oven, that is also what makes the difference. I suggest to try the gelato they have too! Its obviously not the real one, but it is so tasty. Definitely the best pizza Ive ever had in Philly! And the staff is so friendly.

Great coal-oven pizza - the crust was perfect: thin and crispy, but not too thin that it breaks like a cracker. This crust had some serious flavor, like it was made with water imported from NYC. Strong enough to hold some seriously delicious toppings - loved the arugula + prosciutto pie, pancetta + kale, and an indulgent black truffle + fried egg pizza. Normally I judge a pizza place by the strength of their tomato sauce, but I seriously did not even think about it until now that I didnt try any pizza with red sauce.

Our son was recently married and had his reception at Stella. The experience was outstanding! The staff was beyond excellent, providing top shelf service at every turn. The food was delicious and our guests are still raving about the entire experience. Thank you so much to the most professional group I have ever had the pleasure to be involved with. We would highly recommend this restaurant and the exceptional staff for a special occasion event or simply a night out. Wonderful restaurant!

The San Daniele pizza was delicious with prosciutto, arugula and mozzarella. The crust was good, but it was a little blackened. I was distracted by friends, but if I had noticed sooner, I would have sent it back because it really marred the taste of the pizza. The pizza wasnt anything special or different from any other gourmet pizza places. The customer service was excellent, and it was a great space.

the annoyance at the extra 30 minutes we had to wait was mitigated by the two appetizers we were given for free once we were sat. between the 6 of us, we ordered 5 pies. i thought all 5 were very well balanced. the crust and the sauce on the margherita were phenomenal. by far the highlight was the black truffle and egg-topped tartufo. one of the better pizzerias in the area.

Great NYC atmosphere, beautiful decor. Americanized Chinese food, it was actually pretty good. We ordered the peking duck since Ive been craving it for awhile. I liked how they took the meat off the bones, and the duck was juicy and moist. The chocolate dessert was to die for. The food I would give it 3 but the ambiance would be a 5. We all enjoyed our dinner!

It was an experience. We sat at the counter where they make the pies, it was amazing. We ordered the spicy shrimp app to start---whoa. I dont remember the exact pies we got, but it was hands down the best woodfire pizza Ive eaten. Having traveled through several cities and even back home doesnt have pizza this good. Ill gladly drive the 4 hours to eat here again.

Been here a couple times now and havent been disappointed. The crust is light and perfectly baked in the coal oven, giving it a different flavor than a lot of the pizza place in the city. The toppings are really what makes this pizza stand out. The sauce and fresh mozzarella really hit the spot, then topped with mushrooms and sausage you really hit a home run.

Love this place! The best pizza money can buy in Philadelphia. Great service too! When visiting Philadelphia, I tried it my first night here. I was very happy with my order. A year later when I moved here, I ordered it again my first night back. I particularly enjoy their thin crust too, and I honestly dont like thin crust anywhere else.
