The food is fine, but the service is terrible at the Mt. Airy Tiffin. I drove by today and decided to stop in and place a carryout order since I had an email about their $15 special. The first guy I talked to didnt even know what I was talking about, I had to order with someone else. They said 15-20 min. for the order so I went for a walk and came back. It took another 20 min. for a total of 40 min. for me to get my food. I got all the way home and they forgot the appetizer I ordered. I called and the manager didnt even offer anything other than a "sorry." They knew exactly what I was talking about. No offer to deliver my appetizer or anything. I am so frustrated. Last time I had them, I did an online order and had to wait an additional 10 minutes when I showed up at the designated pick up time. Next time Im going to Jyoti in Mt. Airy, its 5 min. from Tiffin, the food is just as good, the service is way better, and they are cheaper!

I have been ordering take-out and eating at this place since it opened in my neighborhood in Mount Airy. Hands down the best Indian restaurant food Ive ever eaten. Fresh, light, spicy. (Yes, if you cant handle some spice, go to the buffets in University City or buy a cookbook.) Personal favorites are the chana masala (to die for), palak paneer (scrumptious), vegetable biryani (yum!) and vegetable samosas. I have eaten meat dishes in the past (chicken curry, also good) and Im vegetarian now and never feel skimped like I do at most restaurants. They include dal and chutneys and fresh basmati. When I think about getting dinner from there, my mouth starts watering. I usually pick up - have had confusing experiences getting them to deliver. Just phone it in and pick it up- totally worth it. DInner for 2, under $20, and so amazingly flavorful and hot. I love it and I hope they continue to do a great business!

I just got back from eating at Tiffin. My stomach is in extreme pain! I have been going to this location for about a year. At first it was excellent. The food has really gone downhill though and I think this time I may actually have gotten sick from it. There is no longer any quality control or consistency here! I have seen, on two occasions, cooks walking out of the kitchen and blowing their nose on their hand or other gross behavior. I am a restaurant cook. Believe me, they are not to be trusted with food safety!!!

The first time I went was okay, I thought they were high and the food was only okay, I tried a different dish this time, prices were still high but the food was great. Although the price is high its really because you get alot of food. 2 servings per order pretty much but the place is kept very clean, the servers were professional and the food was warm and very good. I love Indian food and this was an 8 outtve 10 so I would definitely go back. If they served Naan with every order I would up it to a 9 :-)

Its like the chef is cooking from pictures! The navratan korma was made from cheesy vegetable medley pack that you could buy from the Acme. The chicken tikka masala tasted like they used Campbells tomato sauce! Their special, "gobi manchurian", Im pretty sure was made from the do it yourself sweet and sour sauce you can buy at the grocer for Chinese. This is really a disgrace to all other Indian restaurants. The only thing that resembled Indian food on our table was the basmati rice!

Tiffin has excellent food, and I will definitely be getting take out from them in the future. That said, their wait staff is incredibly rude. Obviously nobody likes working on a Saturday night, but they really need to do a better job at hiding it. If you stay past 8:30 they all stare you down until you leave the restaurant, and make you feel incredibly uncomfortable. If Im going to spend $17 for an entree I expect to be able to eat it in peace, and this does not happen at Tiffin.

Food is good, people are nice, but there is such a language barrier when placing an order on the phone, its annoying when there is communication breakdown, hoping your order was placed correctly or that they have the right address.

While not exactly my favorite place for a sit-down meal, I do love that Tiffin delivers! The Paneer Tikka Masala and Navratan Korma are my favorites. It takes a little while for the food to arrive but its worth the wait. So good!

Exquisite take out food. Their portions are enough for sizable leftovers the next day. It felt a tad on the pricey side but the food was certainly tasty and high quality. If you dine in, dont forget its BYOB.

Our favorite Indian restaurant! Used to have several more lamb dishes on the menu, but will always adapt a current menu item by substituting lamb. Small, cozy location. Good service. Kid friendly.
