We stopped there for lunch yesterday, it was a Wednesday, and the restaurant was pretty empty. There were several waiters working the floor, though, so service was not a problem. Our server, Brad, he was very attentive, quick, and helpful. The restaurant decor is stylish and modern. The menus strive to be cool, too, but the menu paper is flimsy and cheaply assembled. We ordered 2 lunch specials: a beef teriyaki bento box and a maki set 2 lunch special. They both came with salad and soup. I also asked for tea which arrived on a cute rectangular porcelain tray. The tea itself, however, was from a tea bag. Cheap. The soup was barely warm, the miso paste was hearty and nicely salted. I wish there was more tofu and seaweed in the soup, though. The salad was fresh and crunchy, but the creamy ginger dressing tasted like mayonnaise mixed with a little bit of ginger, and there was so much of the dressing that the bottom part of the salad turned into a soup. Not good. I got three sushi rolls, and they were delicious. I loved them. My partner got the bento box where he asked for the teriyaki steak well done. The steak was still pinkish in the middle, but the sides were brown, and the entire steak was dry. The steak was only warm, not hot at all. The gyoza was yummy, though barely tepid in temperature; the vegetable tempura was nice and crunchy, though not hot by any means. The tempura sauce was imaginatively mixed with something that made the sauce have more texture than usual and not slide off the tempura vegetables. The California roll was more than palatable. The obsession cake was tiny, for $10 it is absolutely ridiculous. It was decent enough, but nothing spectacular, and definitely not worth the price tag. The alcohol menu was lovely, it had a nice variety and included curious esoteric liquors. This is a beautiful restaurant, but because of the food issues, food amounts, and the corresponding price tags, we wont be coming back.

I love Ooka in Willow Grove, and my friends and I have been going there for years. This weekend, reservations were made for the Ooka in Montgomeryville. There were 14 of us that went to dinner - hibachi. From the moment we got there, there was confusion with our table. They finally seated us, and then our waiter greeted us, however he completely ignored me. This continued throughout the night; it actually became a standing joke that he was ignoring me. I had ordered a soda THREE times, and never once received a soda. I had asked to have my check separated, and it wasnt in fact separated, and I was charged for THREE sodas. Because of the large group, I obliged and paid my portion, but in fact it was more due the fact he messed up my order. I did not see management to talk to at the time we left. I went online to email management, but there isnt a place to contact management about my poor experience. I was highly dissatisfied with the lack of service after paying $75 for dinner. I would like to rectify this, but chances are, I will not return again.

I barely write a review of a restaurant unless it is fantastic, or it is awful. Well, for Ooka of Montgomeryville, it is...awful. I had the NY strip teriyaki, which was overcooked and overly drenched in sauce that I drank more than 3 cups of water because I could not tell whether I was eating the teriyaki sauce or the meat. The rice, was supposed to be served with the meal, which never came out, and the waitstaff never bothered to check on it. They took about 15 minutes to come back with the check, and told us to MAKE SURE THE AMOUNT IS RIGHT AND COUNT THEM? Shouldnt it be the waitresss job to correctly charge the amount of the meal each person had? and it was only for a table of 4 so I really didnt understand why every one of us had to count all these dollar bills at a place that was rated for remotely fine dining experience. To sum it up, AWFUL. Will not be going back...

Tonight was extremely disappointing. We were going out for an unhappy anniversary but none the less a celebration of life. Our server was young and did not get our appetizers out before our soup and salad. Once I remind her, she brought them out and it was not what I ordered. The avocado was missing from the roll but that came seperaty after we had alreadly finished our app. We all had two rounds of drinks that took forever to refill - I had to find her in the server station. Last but not least, we had the most rude and unenthusiastic hibachi chef who slammed the food on our plates and couldnt care less about entertaining us or doing his job. We asked him his name and he responded with "jerry." The next time we celebrate my dads favorite meal, we wont be going here.

I decided to get dinner here with a couple of my friends for my birthday. I was not treated with respect nor care. We waited 45 minutes and our food was not even serve. I had plans to go to into the city after my dinner so my friends and I decided that we should leave. The server said "Where are you guys going? Late for the movies or bedtime?" It was extremely rude and unprofessional. I had always give waiter respect and great tips if they serve me well. I am also in the costumer industry so I know how hard they work. But the fact that the server judge us beforehand.... I will not go here ever again. I am willing to drive farther for better service than here.

My wife and I went for my Birthday and our Anniversary in about a months time and was just as great both times. We sat at the Sushi bar both times and had the best experience with the sushi artisans, especially Jack, and with Harry and Eden our waiters consecutive. We remember thier names because they were awesome, they know their job and the food. We both suggest you allow the crew to make recommendations for food, and take them. All the food was extremely fresh and high quality not to mention delicious. For Japanese cuisine in the area there is no match, it is our new favorite place!

Had take out ordered the other day and had to wait for over 40 minutes to get my food. Took the food home and had sauce missing from the chicken teryaki that we ordered. What is this McDonalds??????? I ordered food close to 80 dollars worth and they had to find a way to screw it up. At least McDonalds I dont have to pay that much. Called the restaurant and spoke with a manager and the only answer I got was "what is your address, we will get someone to deliver that for you" What am I supposed to drink the teriyaki sauce for dessert? Food was cold and service definitely poor.

My husband and I eat at Montgomeryville often. We have lunch more than dinner, but when we go for dinner, its fantastic. The service is always great, they greet us with respect and treat us with kindness. The food is always fresh and the staff remembers our preferences. At dinner I recommend the Omakase (chefs tasting menu). With either a bottle of wine or the pairing, the food is fabulous. It feels like a center city restaurant and the food is exquisite. Whether the course is raw or cooked, both the presentation and the test are wonderful.
