On the evening of Saturday, September 22, 2012, my wife and I stopped at Gateway Grill for dinner. Near the end of our meal, as I finished by dark colored soda (Pepsi), I noticed a dead house fly stuck to the inside of my glass, wedged between my plastic straw and the glass itself. There were no flies flying around the restaurant, leading me to believe that this fly was deposited into my glass via the soda dispenser or elsewhere from the kitchen area. I had one refill, however, my glass had not been fully emptied before being refilled, and I am therefore fairly positive that the house fly was in my glass the entire time, resulting in my drinking a beverage containing a disease-ridden insect throughout my entire meal. The waitress offered to take the $2.00 drink off our $37.xx bill and when we asked to speak to a manager, he offered to deduct a $5 coupon (which we told him we already had anyway and he said hed take another $5 off if that would make us happy). Clearly, this isnt a big deal to them - otherwise the entire check would have been comped. When management was confronted, he simply stated that "with the changing weather" that "this happens sometimes" but that they "have a service" that handles things so that "things like that doesnt happen." When informed that it was disgusting, he then said that they "had a lot of customers" that day and the "door had been opened and closed a lot." I guess other restaurants dont have people come in and out the door, as I dont have flies in my food when I eat elsewhere. They also must not have "changing weather" either - Gateway Grill must be isolated in some sort of "changing weather" vortex making bugs a problem for them only. It must be some sort of paradox (sense the sarcasm). THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR BUGS IN BEVERAGES/FOOD! Management clearly sees no problem with serving someone a beverage (and/or other food) that is infested with bugs that feed on excrement. Therefore, it leaves me to wonder what else happens "behind the scenes" in the kitchen and what sort of health violations are in place. It just makes me nauseaus to think about. This was our first and will be the only visit to "House Fly Grill".

The food was decent and had generous proportions. The draft beer was lacking. Ordered wings and zucchini strips. Huge breaded and fried zucchini slices. Every wing was naked and had plenty of meat. The flavoring, Cajun and spicy seasoning, was okay. Reasonable pricing. They have a huge beer selection. Ordered 2 different draft beers before I realized that it was flat-ish. Im going to give them the benefit of the doubt and say there was an issue with the CO2 system that night. But minus a star, because I had to bring it to their attention. Overall a nice place. Decent food with good portion sizes, a large beer selection, and a nice ambiance.

One of the better pub style restaurant around. The food is better than the beer though. They have a wood burning fire they cook over which makes the food taste great. I have been going here for a little more than a year. The pizza is famous, but get a sandwhich or salad, they are probably the best in town. everything i have ever had tastes good here. They also have a ton of flat screen TVs with news channels and sports on. Cons: sometimes the food takes a long time to make. doesnt make for a quick lunch if you come with a party of more than 4. sometimes it is a little smokey in there

We stopped in after a 10 hour drive from Rhode Island to have a quick bite to eat. Three of us ordered the large pizza...which is 20" across! It reminded me of NY or North End Boston style pizza, with a puffier, bubblier crust. Crust was just the right amount of smoky and crispy from the fire, LOTS of cheese - tasted heavy on the parmesan - DELISH. DH was beside himself with joy when he saw they had 32 beers on draft. Much to his chagrin, he only had two Franciscaners. Salad was large and fresh. A definite must-visit place for pizza!

We were looking for a place that still served breakfast on a Monday afternoon and they serve breakfast until 2 p.m. It was great. Excellent pancakes, eggs the way you want them, sausages come in either patty or link and you get your choice. Hash browns or home fries. Choice of breads for toast and they were all excellent like from a bakery. Easy to find from the Turnpike exit and back to it. Its in a small strip of stores on the far left end. The parking lot is a bit tight and crazy though. Definitely family-friendly.

Stopped in for lunch today with a large group. They were able to seat us right away. Food was very good and quickly brought out to us. I had the buffalo chicken club sandwich, which was excellent -- they did not skimp on the Red Hot when making it. We were able to see into the kitchen from our table, and the wood fire is really impressive. One bad point: it was fairly noisy, making it difficult to hear people on the other side of the table. We will go back soon

During our second visit to Gateway Grill we ordered a beer. The beer that we ordered wasnt available anymore. Instead of telling us this, the waitress brought us a different more expensive draft that we didnt want and charged us for it without asking. Also I had a flea in my ranch dressing, and both of us had a hole in our water glasses. Overall bad experience with greasy, insect ridden food.

At first we didnt think it would be good because The outside was not presentable BUT once you got in, it was buzzing and smelled amazing!. Our waitress was the greatest!. We ended up giving her a 10$ tip since she was such a ambitious person and sounded like she loved her job. The food was HUGE and you never go hungry. It made my weekend staying in moneroeville worth every minute!. Thanks Gateway!

I like this place, but some days theyre really off. The food is hit or miss, staff... the same. Prices arent too bad. American menu as it gets, pretty clean place, kinda crowded. Honestly, for pushing the BBQ, its not too good. I lived down south for a little while so maybe Im spoiled, but this place makes BBQ like its someones first try. I like it, but ide never go outta my way to go here.

This place is a beer lovers diamond in the rough. I was not expecting this type of experience when I pulled into the the parking lot. This bar and grill is filled with incredible food, awesome atmosphere, lovely people, and an amazing beer selection. You cant go wrong here. They host beer tastings , specials every night, and again a lot of beer choices.

We usually have lunch here, a burger or salad, and have enjoyed our food, but got dinner and was disappointed. The pot roast was chunks of dry meat, with no kind of jus on it. The potato with it was cold, as was the grilled shrimp. Both were reheated, but the shrimp was still barely warm. The french fries were great.
