If I could give this place less stars, I would. Im incredibly angry my husband and I stopped here on our cross country trip. (We grew up near Harrisburg PA and now live in CO) We had several Pittsburgh friends relentlessly hound us that this place is the absolute best and that we needed to try it out. So we went out of our way to get off the turnpike to give this place a shot. It was a complete waste of an hour and a half of our lives... We both got the Pitts-burger, which seemed to be their flagship item. I got mine without slaw, my husband with slaw. I didnt mind the French fries on the sandwich (Ive put them on my own burgers before) but my husband thought they were too squishy and not crispy enough. I expected the meat to taste more like and have the consistency of a regular hamburger patty. It did not.... It tasted and had the consistency more along the lines of a meatball or a slice of meatloaf. It was also very bland. My husband describes his sandwich as biting through a chunk of mashed potatoes. Service was incredibly bad. We waited about 10 -15 minutes before the waitress even came to take our drink order. We placed our food order when we placed our drink order and proceeded to watch as two tables sat after us received their food. The couple at the table next to us were able to eat and settle their tab before we even got our food. During our meal, the waitress passed our table several times without checking in, and getting the bill took forever. In attempting to pay, we were simply going to leave the money on the table because she was taking so long, but we were seated next to the bathroom and didnt want someone else to walk off with it. Needless to say, we will not be visiting this place again. And if this is supposed to be one of the better places to eat in Pittsburgh, Id hate to visit the rest of their restaurants! Dont waste you time and effort on this place! On our whole trip back to CO, we wanted to try local restaurants instead of just grabbing fast food but Id much rather go to Mc Donalds over this place...

I came here on a hunch, on a wednesday night, knowing that its a local hot spot. The place was practically empty to my surprise as the parking in the lot around the building was practically full. Our server seated us and was knowledgeable, thorough and attentive. I ordered the pitts burger and it was delicious. As the other reviews here state, the patty for the sandwich was softer than your standard fare, and tasted like steak flavored meatloaf. Obviously house made coleslaw (good, fresh, vinegary) then French fries (possibly fresh cut, idk), meat and finally tomatoes are layered on fresh Italian bread. Bro. Pittsburghers are a tough, punch you in the mouth people and their sandwiches are every bit the part. Get here, get one and get full.

Sat at a booth with a lady friend and had excellent service. Left for ten minutes, went back by myself and sat at the bar and what a difference. The barmaid took 10 minutes to put an orange in my drink. I left change about six dollars and half a drink on the bar to go to the bathroom (hoping the barmaid would realize that I went to the bathroom) SHE DIDNT. I returned to the bar to find my half drink gone ( yet the barmaid said she set it aside, and did pull my half empty beer from somewhere) but the four or five dollars that were sitting on the bar had no mention of nor did they reappear the way my leftover beer did. Nevertheless, sit at a booth, the mermaids are nice, but somewhat questionable.

Trying to have the Pittsburgh experience after traveling cross country to watch the,Steelers after the game hit Primantis in Monroeville. First every motel in town was sold out but this restaurant had two servers. 5he manager spent more time flirting with the workers than actually helping customers. Our server really was trying but overwelmed. Wings were good but sandwiches were best described as LAME, cold, tasteless, and lacking in any real redeeming value. Not sure if thus was an off night but at minimum this location needs attention.

How can you go wrong with a sandwich that has coleslaw and fries in it??? Great place, there is a huge menu so if you are not in in the mood for basic white bread with a stupid amount of meet there are plenty of other options. Another amazing thing is that after 9:00pm they have a $5 menu that includes all their sandwiches. Going back every time we are in Pittsburgh

Wasnt sure if the Monroeville location would live up to the downtown ones, but not only did it live up, it surpassed the downtown ones. Food was excellent as expected and the wait staff and manager were very personable and accommodating. I brought two out of towners here for their first "taste" of Pittsburgh and they were pleased as was I.

We all love Primanti Bros in my family. The sandwiches are legendary and the beer selection is pretty good, however I wish there were more mixed drinks options. If youre not a Pittsburgh sports fan you wont like the wall decorations. There are plenty of televisions to watch the game while you eat. The atmosphere is very friendly.

This place sucks! Wouldnt turn on my game.... all the tvs on only Pittsburgh game except one in the dinning area which nobody watching... will never step foot in this place again ever! Plus the food is below average! Manager needs to be fired! Not a good place for outa towners to go. Go to Buffalo Wild Wings just down the road.

If you dont know about Primantis, Im not going to go into it here. Do yourself a favor and get to the Strip District location first. That being said, I picked up a large work lunch order here and the staff was awesome and made it really easy. My favorite is the capicola with fried egg. Its bloody amazing.

Normally I absolutely LOVE Primanti Bros. I was disappointed this time. The food was okay. Not the greatest Primanti sandwich. My son ordered a milkshake and ten minutes later the waitress decided to let us know the machine was "broken". The only bonus was the place was empty and quiet.

Always good service in the bar area -- not sure of his name, but a younger guy that waits tables in the bar area --- great service! He is always friendly, remembers us when we go back, and very attentive -- he doesnt let drinks go empty and our food order is never messed up!

Great pirmanti sandwiches as usual. Still not the original but not bad at all. If you are into sandwiches with vinegar based slaw and beer battered fries stud in the sandwich then youll love everything about this place or any of their locations for that matter.
