First off, I dont review just any restaurant. I only do so when I have a fantastic experience or a horrible one. This trip was the latter of the two. Absolutely horrible. There was a large hair in our salsa. We ate half of it before finding it. Yuck! Then we get our appetizer without any silverware or napkins. After we ask one person for silverware and napkins, it took too long so we had to ask someone else. Once the food came out only 1/3 dishes were made correctly. My sons burrito came with everything when we specifically ordered only meat cheese and rice with nothing on top. It took three different plates and it still had cheese on top of it. (Not a huge big deal in my mind but he is picky and we ordered it that way on purpose). By the third plate we said fine and he didnt even eat it anyway. $16 down the drain there. Next up was my wifes trio seafood tacos, which the menu said comes with a homemade seafood sauce. There was no sauce and when we asked about it they said it doesnt come with any and looked at us like we were crazy. My wife went and got the menu to make sure we werent actually the "loco" ones and IT DID list there should be the seafood sauce. We showed it to our waitress and thought it was resolved, but wait it gets better. The manager then came to our table with some hot sauce instead of seafood sauce and asked what we wanted. I told her we wanted the "homemade seafood sauce" that was listed in the menu. Again, we get the crazy look. I get up and get a menu and have to point it out to her. What the hell... Update your menu, put a hairnet on the cooks, and at least get the order right from the customer. Never again will I spend a cent in this establishment; I think you should consider doing the same thing.

There are so many things wrong with this place. First of all, the atmosphere is awful, the place could use better decorations to appeal to costumers. Apparently who ever owns this joint believes Mexico is a place filled with pinatas, beer bottles, ugly festive hats etc. etc. When we sat down, we got this awful smell. The table wasnt properly cleaned and we noticed how filthy the surroundings were. They dont know how to clean the restaurant, when I was walking from the bathroom back to my table I noticed the floor was growing a little bit of MOLD! Mold my mates, m.o.l.d! Then the staff is friendly, although they give you no napkins, and you have to ask for the silver wear. The food comes to you in about 15-30 mins, (depending how much you ordered, and how full the place is). They literally have a speaker all the way in the corner of the restaurant with full blast volume. When my food came, I was a little bit shocked of how unorganized my plate looked, there was very little rice. The small tacos had a lot of grease on them, and in the inside it looked like crispy rocks burnt on the grille with a splash of lard. I ordered "Pepes Combo". SO IN CONCLUSION, This place is 1.disgusting 2. bad stench 3. Bad service 4. terribly cooked food 5.over priced items. Considering Im Mexican and I am fully aware of whats authentic Mexican food, I would not recommend this place to anyone. Please dont waste your money on bland food, and always always check the reviews on restaurants that are based on other countries. May it be a Chinese, Indian, Mexican restaurant. Thank you for reading :)

Pretty much what everyone else said is true. Food was subpar, aside from the quesadilla which tasted pretty good, but was very watery oddly enough. The waitstaff was not friendly at all. There was no, hello welcome to el rodeo as we were coming in and no, goodbye have a nice night thanks for coming in as we were leaving. Our waiter was very clearly not interested in waiting on us and seemed to have an attitude when we asked for things, like the unsweetened tea I asked for which tasted nothing like tea. I have no clue what it was. I took a sip, put it down, and that was it. Didnt even mention it or anything else to the waiter cuz it seemed like a pointless endeavor. And after the meal I was trying to find the lid to my one year old sons snack jar and while looking I lifted up the seat cushion thinking maybe it fell between the cracks and there was a dirty utensil under the seat and what looked like mold a few inches from that. Gross. I just asked for the check from the closest server and got the heck outta there. Never going back. Youd get better and more authentic Mexican food from On The Border or Plaza Azteca. And after reading all these other reviews Im seriously hoping I dont get sick. I really should have read the reviews before eating here, but it was Mothers Day and my wife wanted to try this place out instead of driving to Plaza Azteca in Wyomissing since the Lancaster location hasnt opened yet. Never again! Avoid this place!

Very good: The chicken quesadilla rellena (grilled flour tortilla, folded and stuffed with chicken and cheese) was very good. There was a lot of chicken and it tasted great. Good: Menu had a lot of options and pricing wasnt bad. Decor was nice, and the lighting was bright. Poor: The nachos supremos (Cheese nachos topped with ground beef, chopped chicken, beans, shredded lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream) appetizer was very sloppy, and it was served at the same time as the entrees. The chips were sopping wet because of the toppings (they were laying in liquid.. maybe a mixture of melted sour cream and water from the lettuce?). "Tomatoes" = 1 small slice of tomato, cut in half. However, we used the chips we got from complimentary chips and salsa to salvage some of it, and it tasted okay that way. Bad: The #F (One chicken burrito and one chicken enchilada topped with lettuce, sour cream, tomatoes and grated cheese) seemed to be nearly all tortilla and cheese, but not much chicken. The enchilada sauce did not taste good. The lettuce & sour cream topping kind of had the same effect as it did on the nachos... wet and sloppy. Overall, an okay experience, but likely will not go back unless we have a craving for the quesadilla.

The food was great like always best margaritas too.. But the waitress was terrible come to ask for the drinks and left came back to take our order we never got our chips and salsa we had ask for it, when we got the food the waitress drop it off and left never came back to see how was the food I had it ask another waitress for napkins and to get more water.. Our plates sit at the table for more then ten minutes empty before she removed them... I ask her for the bill drop the bill but never came back so we walk to the cashier to paid.. While we were paying for our food the girls ask how was everything I told her the food was great but the service was terrible ... She new ho was the waitress because it was her mother... She try to make excuses for her saying that she had more tables but the restaurant was kind of empty ... I told her it dont matter shes to service every table the same way ...
