I grew up in this town, and this is literally my favorite spot to eat regardless of the cuisine. This chinese restaurant has spoiled me, and is literally the best food, service, and atmosphere you will ever experience. The prices are great too, with you easily getting enough food in a meal for 2 complete meals, and for under $10. They have lunch specials for $5-6 dollars too which offers the same quality food, just a little smaller portion. Its still plenty to eat. Let me say this... I love a good chinese restaurant, and I spent the last 2 years traveling across a few states. Arizona, California, Kansas, Colorado, Tennessee, Illinois. I always try the local chinese food scene, and so far, in two years, NOT ONE PLACE has been anywhere near as good as 5 star chinese is. I cannot stress how great and fresh the food is, and not only that, but the inside is really nicely decorated, and they recently added a few large screen TVs and a sushi bar. The service is excellent as well, and most of the workers have been there long term and are always friendly. They will learn your name and remember it and treat you always as a good friend. The food comes out fast as well. On average, it only takes about 5-10 minutes from our order and often even less time to get out food. I have never had a bad meal here, and their menu is huge. I tried many of their dishes, and all were excellent, but Im sure youll find some dishes that are so great you could eat them everyday. Honestly, if your in town and you like chinese food, do not miss out on 5 star chinese restaurant. The takeout is great too, and fast. I know first chance I get back home, Im going straight here. Its that good.

I wasnt expecting much from a small local place, but this so exceeded my expectations. We ordered sushi, and based on experiences at other local places, my husband and I ordered a regular roll and a special roll each. I can truly say I would have been satisfied with one. The rolls were huge!!! And, it wasnt just rice and filler - the actual fish pieces were adjusted to fit the larger rolls. Everything tasted fresh and we were able to see the chef preparing our rolls, so I can say we watched him slice the mango fresh for the top of my husbands mango passion roll. I apologize to anyone reading this that prefers pictures, I was hungry and dove in before thinking of taking one. Maybe on my next visit! Anyway, if youre in West Hazleton, Id recommend giving 5 Star a try.

For starters, the only reason i gave this place two stars is for the kindness of the delivery driver. Due to my location, the habe a minimum of $25.00, which ok, for 2 people is a bit much for chinese, but so be it. The food gets here in a timely Manor, but oh boy, it was gross. The rice was over cooked and almost tasteless, the broccoli rotten and that flavor mixed with the chicken created chaos. Im generally not a picky eater, but i just couldnt bare it and threw it out. In addition, they for got our sodas. I called they offered to rediliver them, and yepp... they brought water. Its unfortunate because this is the only place that takes card (from what i know) but we wont be repeating. Verrry disappointed.

If I could give NO STARS I would. WORSE SERVICE!! Lady was rushing me to order and shaking her hand to hurry me. Came every minute to ask me if I was ready to order. Then when I was ready to order she pretty much order what she thought I wanted. Not a family friendly place keep looking at my son like he did not want him there. touch my food and then said she only touch a little spot. Took the "little" spot out. Then I told a man named Micheal about how rude she was to my family and he said that he will talk to her. Then I see that he is talking to her but laughing with her like it was some kid of joke. Never again will I go there. Food wasnt worth the rude service.

Always enjoyed eating at Five Star however lately we have been ordering out well last time we ordered I ordered the General Chos Shrimp was shocked to find a very small cocktail shrimp with a very thick batter shaped around it to resemble a regular sized shrimp!!! Dont know if this is a new practice to limit the amount of shrimp placed in the dish but wont be ordering for awhile for take out. Next time we will eat in and this way if there is another problem I can address it in person

Frank really? Have you ever eaten at someplace not in a food court? I had the steamed dumplings and beef and broccoli in garlic sauce. The dumpling had no taste and glue like wrapping. The beef and broccoli was suppose to be in spicey garlic sauce, this brown liquid had not even a hint of garlic. The portion was good and the rice was not a clump. I travel all arcoss the US and refuse to eat franchise food and always try something local, I wont be trying this one again...

A 5 star review for a restaraunt appropriately named Five Star ... Speedy service, management was excellent from watching some less than desirable customers being ignorant ... Handled well and w decorum which is seldom seen ... Generous portions for a more than reasonable price and the food in my opinion ... Scrumptious! ... I believe I have a new eatery to frequent now ... Recommend this fine dining experience all day long

Tea pot had soap bubbles in its tea, dried purple sauce on serving spoon and waiter didnt take it away but gave us a replacement, waiter obliviously had tip of thumb in chip dipping sauce. We left immediately after seating. *Revised* Please show concern and attentiveness when customer is not happy. Please offer better customer service and cleanliness.

Really couldnt find any problems here. All the times Ive went to eat here, they have all the food out very fast and it tastes fresh. For under 10 dollars, you can get a combination plate with a choice of soup and a nicely sized egg roll. Would definitely recommend this place to others. The atmosphere is also quite nice.

Im a pretty tolerant person. Im the kind that usually lets things slide. Maybe it was a bad day or a bad month, maybe even a bad job for the people that work here...but it doesnt excuse the worst service Ive ever had! And that doesnt help the bland food. If youre still inclined to eat here, bring some clorox wipes too.

Decent food. Not very impressed with the sushi options, but the pork fried rice is out of this world (very fresh, large chunks of pork). The Thai menu is "ok" at best. The most unfortunate part about this place is the location, which shares a parking lot with other stores and fast food restaurants.

I have always found that Five Stars food is consistently well prepared and tasty. The people are very friendly and I have never had a complaint. The place is clean and the menu has a wide variety of offerings. We eat there whenever were in the area. .
