This is easily the worst Japanese place Ive ever been to! The food is terrible and disgusting, and the service was also pretty bad! It took over a half hour to flag down our waiter to refill our drinks, and when our food finally arrived, it was cold and almost inedible! Katsu pork is supposed to be crispy and juicy yet flavorful. My katsu was chewy, tough, dry, yet mushy and worst of all, bland! My boyfriends hibachi platter was little better. Whats more, when I asked our waiter about some of the ingredients in something I ordered, he couldnt give me an answer! That is completely unacceptable! Ive been to Japanese restaurants all around the US and also in Canada. This is one place I will not return to until they can get their act together!

Do not eat here anymore. As a known and loyal customer for 2+ years, I was treated with poor service and such disrespect that I have advised my friends, colleagues and family to spend our money elsewhere. I had communicated my concerns regarding 2 seperate spoiled items that were ordered on the same night to our server and to the manager. Even when replacements were ordered and enjoyed, the manager expected me to pay for both spoiled items. FYI, ever since the establishment was turned over from the owners daughter and back to her parents, the Quality and Service have been on the decline. Also the food is very overpriced for frozen and their continued lack of a bar license means there are better options elsewhere, enjoy!

Excellent restaurant, very classic decor. Our server was very helpful (my friends first sushi experience). They house the dining room upstairs and the sushi bar downstairs, making it nice and quiet for diners. Food was nice, I shared a $100 boat that contained basic, well prepared fish such as yellowfin tuna, salmon and eel. My only concern is that yes, its a nice restaurant that offers a great experience, but for the same price I can dine at Morimotos , which is more fitting for casual dining and has a more unique taste. I would recommend this restaurant more so for romantic evenings and family get togethers.

I saw the bad reviews and went in with an open mind because I was craving a healthy meal. The ginger was terrible, tasted like soap. The salad was just as bad - I had 2 bites and quit. I got 3 orders of sashimi and they were marginal. The roll that I had with fish in and wrapped by cucumber was poorly done and tasted off. The cucumber was really thick on some rolls and just not properly done. The cucumber had a bit of odd taste. I left hoping that I wont feel badly later this evening...

Wow! I was initially skeptical when I walked in because the main restaurant is cavernous and sparcely decorated and at 6 pm we were only the second party in the place. But the food was AMAZING!! Best tempora Ive ever had. Sushi was excellent. Beef bulgogi also highly recommended. Place filled up while we were there and became more lively. Highly recommended!

Dont bother. Worst Sushi place Ive ever been to. And all of the Krab is Krab with a K (fake crab). You can get real crab for an upcharge. Really? just give me real crab to begin with. Charge a little more and dont even give me the Krab option. I honestly dont know how this place stays open. the parking lot is always empty.

Terrific food and fine service that seems to get better every time we eat there. Very inventive presentations of Japanese foods, and the sushi is fresh and delicious. Not cheap but we get good value for what we pay. I cant think of a Japanese restaurant (habachi restaurants aside) nearby that comes close!

Best sushi ever. The service is impeccable also.went back with wife and she couldnt remember the name of sushi she had last time and one of the servers was able to find our receipt from the other night and brought it to help us remember the name of the sushi my wife wanted. Thats very impressive.

The food was good, the service was ok, they cannot justify the insane prices they put on some of their dishes and sushi..will not order from again, there are other local restaurants serving comparable quality at almost half what Umami Umami is charging.

Excellent Japanese and Korean cuisine, charming "colonial-inn-meets-Japanese-sake-lounge" ambience, and Cindy, one of the most delightfully friendly servers Ive ever met. Has no competition as the best restaurant in the Fort Washington area.

Every time Ive been here, the food has been amazing for everybody Ive gone with. Especially loved the teriyaki and hibachi chicken, and the bibimbap is always a big hit. The pear sake was also amazing, and the lemongrass as well.
