This is a great bar. Its the same as it was 20 years ago, and doesnt apologize for it. Folks, its a smoking bar. Posting negative reviews saying its smokey are like complaining About sand at a beach tiki bar. Go to the other 300 places that dont have smoking within 20 miles. I quit smoking a year ago, and it doesnt even bother me now. The food is surprisingly good. The absolute highlight is the wings. They take great care to make them fresh, not precooked then fried, this is very rare and means wings take 15-25 minutes, but they are worth it!!! The chimichanga is excellent, and even thugs like the salsa are homemade. If I had something to recommend a change on, it would be the guacamole... its tough, but they should find a better system so the guac doesnt come out as brown as it does at times... The bartenders are great, and are very welcoming. Sparky is super attentive to guests and always fast to clean up a, fix something that broke, etc. As are Liz, Martha, Becca, etc. the owner is very open, honest and listens to feedback from everyone. Hes invested a ton - new sign, new POS system, updated equipment, upgraded air filtration, ceiling fans, a much cleaner place, new felt on the pool table and the list goes on.... highly recommend!

Sierra Madre has been one of my favorite restaurants for over 30 years. I went there for drinks in my 20s. Ate there with my small children in my 30s, (they loved sitting in the cells) and have been going with friends and family for dinner the last 20 years. Although I must say I still sit in the cells to get as far away as possible from the puffers.They recently (for some unknown reason) made the restaurant into a large circular bar that allows smoking everywhere. Yuk. I have to shower after I eat there. Plus I tried to take my grand daughter there last week and the waitress met me at the door telling me it is a smoking bar and no children under 18. Double yuk. I said "Oh ok, tell the new owner thanks." Who had that bright idea. If the previous owner knew what was up he would roll over in his grave. No thanks. Ill be going to El Sol.

I have a trusted friend who has previously told me that while sitting at the bar watching football and baseball, on several visits his bill reflected items, which were not ordered or received. He also indicated that bill totals have been increased when he received his bank statement. The employees have always insisted he was mistaken. Last night I went to watch he Yankees and Sox game and I noticed that 3 beers were added to my bill, which my girlfriend and I never received. All I got was a bad attitude from the bartender, his complaining of his gambling debts also raises my suspicions further. If you must go, pay for everything individually or they will steal your money!

If you are looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant, this may not necessarily be the prime location, but if you are looking for incredible wings, great chips and salsa and a relaxed atmosphere, this is your place. Honestly, even though this place may be filled with random shady guys talking about the quality days of high school football before they went through two divorces and use welfare checks to pay for child support, it adds to the authenticity of a bar next door. Forget the fajitas and hit up 35 cent wings after nine and drink specials every day. I return to this place every time I go to the Harrisburg area and it is well worth the visit.

I went there for the first time last night, and will never go back. The male bartender, from what I was told his name was Sparkey, was one of the rudest people I have ever met! He was very unwelcoming and was rude the whole night to multiple customers. Customer service is very important in the bar/restaurant business and that is something that was lacked last night.

We used to really like this place. We were in town and decided to have lunch. Its just ok now, we were pretty disappointed. They used to offer chips and salsa while you waited, and the chips were homemade and amazing. I guess they dont do that anymore. We ordered nachos, hoping for the good chips. Nope. Everything was ok, but its just not the same anymore.

Went there with a company I worked with to change out bar rags, the kitchen was disgusting then. Went there to eat last eve apprehensive at best. Ordered tacos, and they were bad. Seemed like meat was microwaved then stuffed into some lousy tortillas. Had to eat them with a fork. I would not recommend this place. Lousy food. Service was eh

Was very disappointed when walking in and finding that the bar still allows smoking both indoors and out. I would have loved to try it, however, I know I can go to other local places that have me not smelling like an ashtray when I leave.

Very comfortable atmosphere, bartenders are awesome, variety of menu items. I stop in frequently, (2 limit !), service and quality always consistently good, they have good selection of beers and spirits, Highly recommend.

The only real bar on the carlisle pike!!! Foods good, nice pool table, corn hole An horse shoes. All the improvements the new owner has made are really starting to show. Also go see jean during the day she is the best!!!

Bartender VERY rude!!! I was told that kids were allowed and when i went in to get us a drink...so cocky bartender said uhh, is she 21...she cant be in here!! Okay, I didnt realize it was a freakin adult restaraunt!!!

Last time we eat here. Although the food is ok, and the service is always good, the mold and musty scent we could smell in the dining section was foul! Totally grossed out!!! Yuck!

Honey bbq wings were disgusting. Waitress/bartender made great drinks and the service was great. Will not go back to this place after 9pm. Maybe its better during lunch.

Really dirty, dark restaurant. Used to have good steaks but food last few times there was barely edible. Stopped going there, great place if you are an alcoholic mole.
