My parents and I went to the Kitchen Bar last night for the first time. I had looked at their website as I do most of the time before visiting a restaurant for the first time. The website was very appealing and mentioned that their chefs were the best and the food was fresh and gourmet, and their menu had a great flair, so I got a little excited. When we arrived, it was a full parking lot, too small in my opinion. We hadnt made a reservation and had about a 10-15 minute wait for a table, which wasnt bad for a Saturday night. The restaurant was crowded and very appealing the way the bar area and rest of the restaurant was decorated. Upon being seated, we must have waited about another 10 minutes before a waiter came by to take our drink and food orders. We werent even given water for about 10 minutes after we were seated, which I thought was a little odd. The menu was very limited in my opinion, nothing over the top, just the stuff that most restaurants in the area offer. When we ordered, our waiter didnt write our order down, which I felt was a mistake, he then repeated our order back to us, which was good. When we got our food, after waiting like what felt like a really long time, they made a mistake on my moms order. They gave her mashed potatoes and sweet potato fries as side dishes instead of the asparagus she ordered. They did bring the asparagus right out after we said something. A lot of the menu items were over priced. I ordered the steamed mussels with an onion pesto sauce, which was good with a side of mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes tasted stale and not homemade. The cocktails looked really good, but unfortunately I was driving that night so I didnt get a chance to try any of them. In my opinion, way over priced, the food was just so-so and the service is terrible.

Heres the summarized version: Dont waste your time. Youll be paying for crappy food and bad service. For the details , read on... The service was well below what you would expect. We arrived on a Sunday a little after 11 AM. Although we were sat down pretty quickly, the restaurant was not busy at all. It took 25 minutes before our waitress greeted us for the first time with nothing more than a , "Do you know what you want?". ... alright, I can appreciate just getting right to business. Let it slide. Coffees to start. She left and came back right away. (Okay, so im thinking she probably wasnt made aware that we were sitting down in the first place)Now, on to our orders, ...two breakfasts consisting of two scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, and bacon with toast... and that was the last time we saw our waitress until we left. It took 40 minutes to recieve our food from what appeared to be the chef , who looked as disinterested in handing the plate to me as he was working there. I thought I was trying to have breakfast, not participate in a relay race. The hashbrowns were burned on the underside and uncooked on top. Eggs were okay and the bacon was more like circular ham patties. To top it off, it was all thrown together on the plate overlapping each other... I almost heard Tony Montana whispering "F*** you, Pay Me" As our cups of water went dry , there was no waiter/ waitress in sight for another 40 minutes. As another table was seated close by, the waitress eventually came out to greet them in the same fashion we were. Heres my chance,... "get her before were stuck here forever!" I got the bill and paid ten times what the entire experience was worth....oh but not before I had to get up and find our waitress to get my card back. Wont be coming back

We used to come to this place frequently until about a year ago and I wish we stayed away this time... as soon as we walked in we noticed the difference - the place looks dirty and trashy, the menu is even more expensive than I remembered, but what completely blew my mind is what my husband and I watched unfold in the parking lot. A work van pulled up, and as can be seen in the photo, among dirty work tools in the back were boxes of produce. Several members of kitchen crew came out and went through those boxes, right in the parking lot, under the rain, in the back of the dirty work van, with no gloves on.. The driver of the van proceeded to take unpackaged lettuce out of the box, dropped it on the ground, picked it up, shoved it back in the box and carried the box in the direction of the kitchen. Kitchen crew members carried more of those boxes inside. I couldnt finish my food. The waitress didnt bother to ask if my food was ok; she only informed us that if we are done she has to remove plates from the table as they get "yelled at" if they dont. Needless to say we are not coming back. But I will be contacting the health department!

This is a rating for the lunch service/food. Went in with my girlfriend and sat out on the patio. It was very nicely set up. (Strangely enough we didn’t mind over looking dirty 611) We both ordered very simple meals along with an original appetizer. To start, we split the cheese steak spring rolls. They were excellent! She ordered a salad and I got the fish and chips. Now, in my opinion, these are to relatively easy meals to cook. The food came out PERFECT. The fish was fried to perfection where the outside layer was perfectly crisp and crunchy and the inside was moist and flakey. My girlfriend usually doesn’t finish what she orders but she loved the salad so much that there was nothing left. The portion sizes are very big as well so come hungry. My only reason for liking and not loving it, was because for lunch, it was a bit too expensive. I guess I paid for what I got because the food, service, and atmosphere were great! I only hope that they uphold these standards for a dinner time meal.

My wife and I finally went here after driving past it all the time. We assumed it was good because the place is always packed, and in our area (Abington) theres not alot else going on like this place. VERY HAPPY we did! We did wait a little bit before a table came up, but we waited with a drink at the bar! The inside is a nice & clean atmosphere, nice decor and seating. The drinks were cheap! Ok so Im using to paying alot more in Miami, but $6.50 for a Crown Royal & Ginger is CHEAP! Thank you very much, Ill have another. The food was a little better than average, and certainly a higher quality than a Fridays or anything else around the way. We split a house specialty pizza and a Fish-N-Chips meal. The service was attentive, and overall We thought the food was good. Im sure well be back there soon. Recommend to anyone looking for something nicer/better than a Chilis or Fridays, and still looking for a good value.
