I had a nice Fort George IPA and Fish and Chips, plus a cup of clam chowder. Chowder was good. Not the best Ive ever had, but good enough that Id order it again. Fish was Alaska cod and was also good: crisp breading, not over cooked or greasy. Fries were skinny fries and were a little bit greasy, but not too bad. About middle of the road. Beer was priced about what Id expect, food cost just a little more than I might have expected, but not too much. Value for price was close enough for me. I was looking for comfort food after 9:00, not an elegant meal. Place was a little busy and it looked like a few groups in town for the car show with a half-dozen regulars at the bar. Server/bartender was busy, but had time to check on me and chat. I could tell who was a local/regular by the way she would make the time to talk to them. Id go back again.

Ive been coming to this town my entire life and this is by a very long shot the most welcome Ive ever felt anywhere along the coast. It is a pretty small place, and there was live music when I was there just last night so it was very packed and yet the bartender was very attentive to us despite how busy she was. The chef even came out and asked me how my pulled pork sandwich was, which I thought was very strange because I wasnt by my food at the time, and he didnt deliver it to me so he had to remember who I was and what I ordered originally in a crowd (of probably locals). Everybody was very happy, including the customers, and it was easy to strike up conversation with a handful of the patrons. This is the first time I have ever felt compelled to write a review shining a positive light on the business. 5 stars all the way around!

Worst service on the Oregon coast. I have been in this place several times over a several year period. I keep trying it out because of the view and outside seating area. I was hoping the owner would figure out how manage his waitstaff and bartender. If your not a regular yachats barslug dont bother showing up, they will ignore you. I watched three other couples leave after one drink from being ignored. We had 1 beer, nobody waited on us, nobody asked if we wanted food. This has been the same experience each time I have been there. RECOMMENDATION:We headed up the coast to the Flounder Inn in Waldport worth the 8 minute trip. They were freiendly and happy to serve us and we had some Great chicken wings!!

This is the first time I have posted a review but this place was so incredibly awful....I feel compelled to warn others. Clearly this is the local bar fly hangout and if you arent one of those folks, be prepared to be treated like a piece of human waste. Unbelievable this place has been open for 5 years! If you are in Yachats and want great food, service and drinks go to the Drift Inn! I am so sorry we decided to try something different in Yachats, will never make this mistake again and will do my best to warn others of this s...hole.

Our 2nd Trip along the Oregon Coast found us in Yachats again and the Underground Pub & Grub again. We had steamer clams and some fish & chips along with a few beers each. The beer selection is kinda limited but good, the seafood is very good, the service was good considering they seemed to be short staffed (but since were not regulars its hard to tell if thats mismanagement or being short), the fellow patrons were outgoing and friendly...overall exactly what we wanted after being on the road all day.

Its not gating this place, its "HELP ME". We used to come to this place every time we visited the coast, for its clam chowder. Not sure what happened, but it very flour clumpy, the service was okay, he is new to the bar tending world, didnt know how to make a Jager bomb, didnt ask about salting a rim for a margarita..the owners sit by and watch. Just sayin, you have a gem ...Polish it ..give a s#$@....

If you want to support the exploitation of musicians, this is the place for you! After making the bar tons of money by getting people up and dancing with Irish jigs and reels, Dave decided that he wasnt going pay any of the three bands that drove in from Eugene that night. Sorry Dave, its 2013. You cant treat musicians like that and get away with it!

Came here late at night and we did not eat, only had a few beers and cocktails. Staff was friendly and ready to joke around, cocktails were stiff, beer was bubbly. When it gets too dark to see the ocean and you want to reminisce about your day in a dive bar / sea shanty setting, I definitely recommend the Underground.

Never been to a restaurant where a group of 6 overwhelms the service. We came in on a very non-busy night, and the bar-tender immediately warned us 6 people would severely slow service, which is baffling considering the expansive menu. Overpriced, under serviced, limited seating. Better off making food at home.

Food wasnt that good, way more bun than meat on the French dip, beans were luke warm. Service-order taken, food dropped off, and that was it. When my beer was empty half way through my meal, I put it on the end of the counter, moved it, held it up, nothing. I got their attention when I asked for the check

Waited almost an hour to get our food. Then when it finally arrived everything was cold. Only had lunch but the experience was miserable and the price for a small family for lunch was outrageous ! Service was awful and extremely rude. Save yourself and dont eat here!

Great small town bar! The bartender was my favorite, he is a warm gentleman with a wealth of information. We learned so much from him, like the whale migration and local climate. Very low key, great outside patio but be sure to dress warm if you stay after dark!

Best bar experience in years. We didnt eat, but thats not why I go to bars. We walked in and were treated like locals. Within an hour we had been introduced to all the regulars and the party was on. I never wanted to leave. Thanks for an awesome time.

The waiter was missing about half her teeth. The artichoke was half done. But the sauce was spot on. The view is good but full of bar flys. Prices was about avg for a normal place like mos but over all its a ok place but not a first pick for the area

Way friendly Staff and Owner, very real people. Good food. Wine servings are generous. Most customers also talk and have fun with other customers. WIFI is fast, and I have been able to get quiet time in the corner, when I want.

The owners and employees were pretty nice, but Im pretty sure they used us to get a break from a couple of the crazy locals. Prices arent bad, service was good. If go again with a larger group or during a busier time of day.

Waited half an hour for food. When we asked if our food was coming soon we were simply being told, "its being cooked." (For half an hour). You can tell theyre only interested in serving alcohol.
