Stopped into Los Temos for lunch; restaurant features maybe 10 to 12 tables of various sizes, complete with bright red vinyl-type table coverings and a hodge-podge of decor. I ordered the Plato de Birria de Chivo, which is essentially a bowl of goat meat in broth with limes, onions and cilantro provided on the side, along with a stack of tortillas (and more on request). I see meat, vegis and tortillas, well, I start making tacos! Since our goat meat was in a bowl, no plates were provided, so I found myself making little tacos on the several paper towels I laid out. Anyway, it was a fun and tasty lunch - the goat meat was tender and delicious, the vegis nice and fresh, the tortillas steamed to perfection. You wont visit for the aesthetics - but youll be back if you like authentic Mexican food served quickly by friendly folks.

As a Mexican growing up with straight mexican parents, I know good mexican food. Ive eaten the best from Mexico, and I could say that Los Temos is probably the best place you could go thats around Salem. I usually go on the weekends, because their Posole and Menudo is just to die for. The other stuff too is wonderful. It is a bit crammed and not exactly fancy, but its all about the food. The band makes random appearances and its funny to watch all the drunks in the back singing along. All in all, best mexican place around. Definitely recommend this.

The most authentic Mexican food in the Salem area. The goat stew, or birria caldo sopa, is my favorite. Two pound burritos are a great deal. Spanish not required but spoken by almost all customers.
