My wife and I stayed for two nights in one of their cabins to attend a family wedding. The only positive comment I could come up with about our experience at this resort lodge is that the service by their staff at the wedding brunch and two dinners was outstanding for their courtesy and efficiency.Other than that I cannot think of a single positive feature. The cabins were outrageously overpriced for the inconveniences and discomfort - forget about any conveniences- they provided! The 1905 origin of the lodge would imply some wooden cabins and basic conveniences. However the cabin we were in and many others were cheap prefabs with tiny spaces for the bed, closet and bathroom which consisted of a miniscule shower. As others have pointed out, there was no A/C or ceiling fan. No complimentary bottle of water and only one chair. The excessive room rate was plain highway robbery! The food that they provided for the wedding dinners was absolutely tasteless and unimaginative. It was like the chef had never heard of spices or barbeque sauces. The worst food we have ever had. So, my advice to potential parties who would like a small vacation in a scenic area is to find another place, and there are several in the area, for a much lower price and much superior value.

The grounds are really nice and it seemed like a great place to have a wedding where all out-of-town folks could be in one place. However, the price for the cabins was about 100.00 too high when compared to other similar rustic places Ive stayed. Our cabin was advertised as two bedroom. It was really one main room with a bed taking up half of the room and another side room about the size of a queen bed with a huge cutout to the main room (so, not really a separate room in the sense that you could close a door and be totally private). The cabin was basically of plywood thickness and just across a small creek from a busy road. So, it was filled with traffic noise at times. The beds were way too soft and worn in the center; everything flowed into the middle and ultimately gave myself and other guests backaches. The bathroom had few places to set anything (windowsill) or hang anything up. No hair dryer. Basically, not a 300+ a night cabin.

I only wish I had read some of the reviews before booking and then going to Dawn Ranch. It was a Girls weekend away and although we have stayed in many average type places before this was as close to camping as we have come! A very expensive camping trip too! The "cabin" we had with two rooms and a very small sitting area is nothing like what we saw pictures of online. They have a fantastic photographer is all I can say. The beds were lumpy and you got stuck in a hole, the floors slanted, there is no air conditioning, they brought us a couple of small fans, no phone....but we had a phone book, no TV (although not that important) The bathroom was too small and good luck in the shower!! I think next time I am in that area I would try the spa across the street or Fern Grove Cottages looks good.

The cabins are neat and clean. However, the ranch is right next to main street and you can hear the cars passing by. Also, our cabin was right across the restaurant and we could hear people talking. Not much privacy at all. The cabins are small and was built ages ago. During summer, it gets too hot in the mornings and too cold at night and there was no cooler in the cabins. Furthermore, the cabin had no view whatsoever. And there was no wifi! All of this is fine, if the rates were lower. However the cabin was $200 per night. The whole experience was worth maybe $80-$100 per night, certainly not $200. The only nice thing about the ranch was the restaurant which was awesome!

this was like a Twilight Zone experience. A TINY-TINY-TINY room. A squeaky bed and an old chair (there was not room for a second). No a/c, no fan--oh, you want a/c?--leave the front door open all day and night. The closet was not big enough to put anything on a hanger. Really. Not as deep as the hangers. Then I cracked my head trying to maneuver around in the bathroom. Hot, stuffy, miserable, we gave up and left at 5 am. It might have been a lumberjack camp 100 years ago. Today it is a rip-off. I would not recommend this place if they paid me. Anyone who gives it more then two stars is a shill.

Splendid! Just what I expected. Awesome atmosphere. Located in the Russian river valley in the very interesting town of Guerneville. Some of the best breakfasts I have had. Rooms were very warm. Not that I need or expect much service but everyone was helpful. Nice private access to the river.

Great food but service was extremely slow (5+ min to get acknowledged by host and another hour before the food came out). The server was nice but no comps or acknowledgment for an hour long wait for food from ordering time. This is arriving 5 minutes before our reservation time too!

Beautiful setting, and just a short walk to the downtown shops. Food is all phenomenal. Rooms werent anything special, but there is definitely a feeling of camping or cabin life - so that contributes to the lack of "polish." Would definitely come back!

Short walk from town, absolutely stunning grounds. Theres literally not a bad angle from anywhere on the grounds. Rooms are very simple but cozy and very quaint. Breakfast was good but pretty pricey, I might have skipped that. Lovely staff as well.

Attended a private work Christmas party at Dawn Ranch. The lodge is beautiful and has a great atmosphere, and food and drinks were excellent. The staff were very accommodating and attentive.

We did not stay at this hotel but we had dinner and drinks. The cocktails were very well made and strong. Dinner was delicious. The pasta is absolutely amazing. Definitely worth stopping by.

Cozy guesthouses in a quaint city, steps from the Russian River. Hotel has a pool as well. Was here for a wedding and the place worked brilliantly as a venue -- everyone had a blast.

Great place to disconnect, dog friendly, beautiful grounds, conveniently located, good for nature lovers. Minimalist, no TV, no phone but WiFi available.

Great food! Great service. Facilities are also little disjointed. Seems like this place is a renovated summer camp, but they did a pretty good job.

AMAZING! Perhaps it was the event (a family wedding) or the company...but all I know is that it was worth the trip to get there.

Burger was decent but lacking unique flavor. Drinks were average, but over priced.
