We had a reservation for 6:30. We sat down and waited 10 min for water. We ended up getting our appetizers at 7:10. One member of our party ordered sushi as her dinner, and told the waitress that, yet her sushi was brought with the other appetizers. The waitress would come and fill some water glasses and if her carafe emptied she would leave and not return for about 5 min to fill the rest. Our chef, Maytor, arrived at 7:26. His showmanship was amazing. He did struggle with the orders as they were not written down correctly for him. Our food was vey flavorful. The chicken a little dry, but other than that it was good. We were a party of 10, split into to groups of 5. When our bills arrived, they had an 18% gratuity attached. I asked to have it removed. The waitress came over and asked if there was a problem. I simply stated th hat I would like to determine the amount of gratuity I leave. She began to argue with me telling me that their policy is to charge this on parties of 8 or more. I told her I wasnt happy with the wait times and again she argued with me telling me the chef had to prepare (lets not forget our orders were written down wrong). At this point my family just wanted to leave as it was 8:45. I gave them 2 stars instead of 1 because the food was tasty and the showmanship was good, but not enough that I would ever come back.

The food was great. The show was not. The guy was very nice and personable but Ive definitely seen better showmanship when it comes to these styles of restaurants. I thought this was about showing your knives and spat skills.. But overall it was a great experience so if your ok with someone just cooking a good meal in front of you, it should be a great experience. The flavors were spot on when it came to the filet. I had the new york but it was all I could do to keep myself from eating the wifes filet mignon. So tender and the ginger flavor was outstanding. The vegetables and chicken fried rice wrestling just ok...never had chicken fried rice (prefer pork) and the tempura veggies were pretty good but everything seemed to lack salt. But just a tad soy sauce and your good to go. For spending $140 with tip it was at least worth it when the whole family walks out stuffed and satisfied. Get some amazing skilled chefs and this place could be even better. Maybe we caught them on a bad night as it was Sunday and we were the only ones there till about when we left. Seemed earily quiet like we made a bad decision. Glad we didnt turn and run!

Honestly this was the worst Hibachi style restaurant I have ever been to. We had a reservation, so we came a couple minutes early. We were sat promptly and drink orders taken. When it was time to order appetizers and sushi one of our group members ordered sushi as their meal. Rather than bring their sushi with our meal, they brought it twenty minutes before cooking had even started. The way they refilled water was terrible. They would bring over a small pitcher, sometimes nearly empty, fill the glasses they could and leave. Regardless of how many other glasses were empty. It would then be another seven minutes before the rest of the glasses would be filled. Our chef, Maynor, was the only good thing about the restaurant. His showmanship with true food was incredible. Although he was great, it took a full hour for him to even appear at our table. When he started to read of what was ordered we quickly saw that it was not written down right for him. When we talked to the waitress about the bill, the forcefully added gratuity, and the wait times, she did nothing but argue with us about he times.

OHH MY GOOD GOOD FOOD!!!! BEST CALAMARI IVE EVER HAD IN PORTLAND!!!! Im serious people!!! It really IS fresh and cooked properly, melt in your mouth soft, lightly breaded, and perfectly seasoned!!!! I had the filet minion lunch menu and it was superb!!! Michael was our chef and he was not only delightfully entertaining but he was a very skilled chef. This hibachi style restaurant offers the experience of a chef preparing your meal right in front of you and is perfect for small to medium groups of people. Their tables are set up to seat 8 people with two of the tables set up across from each other to potentially seat a broken group of 16 and one table set up to seat a group of 12. I sat with a group of 6 and we all had an exceptional experience!!! I highly recommend eating here!

My wife and I had a delightful dining experience here especially after the staff found out that we were celebrating our anniversary. They treated us like royalty. We ordered the Ginza sushi roll as an appetizer. It was crispy, creamy and spicy all at once. Nice! For the main course we ordered filet mignon, lobster and shrimp. Everything was fresh and perfectly cooked by a skillful and super funny chef. The filet mignon literally melted in our mouths...perfect texture and taste. For dessert we tried the ginger ice cream. I was a bit apprehensive at first, but it turned out to be really tasty. We highly recommend this place. Great food and a super friendly staff, we definitely will come back again.

Food was very good and chef was nice. this is a good alternative to Benihana. Except tokio table is modern everything is white. no carpet on floor. no widow covering. no decorations. The place is very sterile, no atmosphere. Even a hospital has more personally than Tokio Table. The food is great, the people and the chefs are wonderful. But if you are going for the full experience of Japanese this place might not be for you.

What a great place. Micheal Harianto showed me new sake that I had never had before and a new drink the saketeni. Mike was are chief and I got to say he made the whole meal entertaining and personable. If you have not eaten here before. Today is the day. The lunch special is great or take your family in for the dinner meal.

We used to go to Benihana in Seattle, but its closed. I like Tokio much better (service/food) than Benihana. Server(Evan) was very pleasant and a chef (Carlos) was entertaining. It was fun to see his performance (?). We had a good time!

This is our go to special events restaurant. We all Iove the fun meal preparation at our table. Each meal comes with a fresh salad, soup, veggies, rice and a meat or fish. We usually order a sushi appetizer.
