The waiter was dressed less than casual (poorly) the service I rate as unfriendly because of the male server is not smiling, he looked stressed with his ball cap pulled down hiding most of his eyes, so any eye contact from him made me feel suspicious or just uncomfortable. There is no music just loud fans blowing room temperature air around. The place has some clutter and some sort of artwork on the walls I found to be unmemorable. The Lumpia there is not traditionally prepared it was some sort of vegetable roll. To me it taste awful, I can actually make better Lumpia with my handheld blender. The food presentation I found interesting because of the blend of colors on my plate. I ordered a simple plate and I was surprised it taste good. The soy sauce is not labeled and I ended up ruining my noodles because I put yucky fish sauce in it. I brought it to the attention of the owner and she laughed. I felt stupid I should have known it was fishy sauce if I had only used my nose. Lol. No employees there inquired about my dining experience so I paid and left there hungry because I couldnt down my food. Oh and I did not get a receipt, I figured that is expected from a place like that. To me its just more money I toss around trying to patronize the small startups. Because of my poor experience I will never go there again. I love Philippine food and I know for sure there are other Filipino food places in the metro area that will give you a better reception and overall better experience.

I went to eat here with my family and was very disappointed. Not only was the food terrible it was very expensive. The Pansit bihon we ordered was not Pasit bihon, but Su tanghon. The pinakbit was served in a tiny bowl, which I thought was crazy since the price was 12.00 dollars. The bistik was hard like beef jerky imbibed with soy sauce. It was so salty that my husband actually had a bad headache after eating it. The lechon kawali, was limber and very fatty!!!!. The chicken combo looked sick and had fried eggs on top of the chicken, which I have never seen in any Filipino restaurant here in America nor any restaurant I have been to in the Philippines, lastly the Sinigang was cold and it was not even cooked with the right kind of beef. I will not recommend this restaurant to anybody. Stay away and beware!!!!

If you want authentic food from actual Filipinos then this is the place to go. The decor is okay, but the service is excellent and it has an at home feel. My favorite was the garlic fried rice... The one thing I do not like there is the eggplant which i could squeeze the oil out of, too much oil! Maybe bake it next people instead of soaking it in oil. All in all, a fun place, with great people and awesome beer from the Philippines

Omgoodness must have the lumpia, crispy pata, and lechon kawali. The sauce in the lechon kawali has almost a slight bbq tang to it, without losing the classic flavor, that makes it the best I have ever had. Friendly service. Whether you are dabbling in filipino cuisine or if youre a proud pinoy, I would highly recommend this place. My wife, a filipina, was equally impressed.

Super thrilled with this place. I was just in town visiting my boyfriend and I havent had homemade style Filipino food since leaving home for college. I was born in the Philippines and grew up eating Filipino food. Tambayan Restaurant was authentic as it gets!! Might I add great service!! I went here twice during my visit and I KNOW Ill be back. Highly recommend!

I dont know how they got four stars. Must be family giving these reviews. I talked to people who have gone there and were unimpressed. I went in for halo halo all the way from Lake O and was disappointed. I told the server they should get a better shaved ice machine and put more ingredients beside jello and ahe says, "well, thats how the owner wants it."

I just had the chicken combo and boy am I glad I did! I havent had fried chicken this good since my grandma cooked it for me in 1983. The tenderness and flavor of this dish could be likened to a profound symphonic experience, or an amazing journey! I will certainly be returning for this great value.

I really like this place! A friend introduced me to Tambayan several years ago and I still go back when Im in the area. The kare kare with rice and bagoong is my fave! The owners are also very kind and friendly people. I highly recommend giving them a try for some tasty filipino food!

This place is great. I am a Filipino- american and stepping inside was like going back to my living room when I was a kid; food and The Filipino Channel on TV. The decor is not much, but what do you want, everyone in barongs? The food is very good and the staff is very nice.

When we first went in, we noticed it had a homey feel to it. The food was decently priced and fair. When the food came out, you could tell it was gonna be good. Turns out it was pretty delicious and the servings were plentiful. Overall a pretty good place to eat in Portland.

Drove 45 mins to come over to eat, sunday scheduled open 11am to 7pm. Arrived at the restaurant at 2:30pm they are open and several people inside. As soon as me and Fiancee walked in all we hear s Were Closed. No explanation to why.

It was good. If you are feeling adventurous this is a good place to get adventurous without going overboard. You can have a good blend of familiar dishes like Broccoli Beef (really good) to Milkfish (you should try it).

Delicious authentic Filipino cuisine made by authentic Filipinos. The prices are very reasonable too. The only downside - I wish their hours were a bit more accommodating (closed by 8pm, even on the weekend).

Well this restaurant is really not the ideal place to eat @. Their food is not really good. Thier Kare-Kare taste nothing.. they need to put more peanut... and the rest needs some flavor...

It was my first visit here and had a positive experience. The service was prompt and courteous and pork stew with vegetables I order was delicious. A nice place for a quick lunch.

Such a disappointment. They shouldnt advertise that theyre open on Sundays if they really arent open and only taking reservations. I drove down from Washington and wasted my time.

Total mom & pops joint. I felt like a member of my Filipino family cooked for me. Priced a little high but worth it. Id go back quarterly to get my fix.
