Order at counter, they will find the first available table. The menu is small but it is great. Everything is made from scratch and in house. So if you are complaining about their menu, you best be on your way. Quality food takes space, time, integrity and great people to execute. The restaurant is limited to an only X amount of tables. This also helps keep their kitchen from getting waved with a million checks at once. Your food will come fresh. The wait is also nothing to complain about. If you are tight on time, go to a drive-thru. The restaurant is quaint with nice decor. I really enjoyed the jars of pickled veggies on display. The staff is very courteous. The bread is intimidating by size at first but once you sink your teeth into it, you realize it is made that way to keep the rest of your sandwich in tact. I loved that. I had the Good Buddy. Braised beef with pickled onion, creamy horseradish and a couple other items. It was a great selection. Yes, they have great pie too. We had marionberry, blueberry and salted honey. All were delightful. Were fatties.

I dont understand why there have been people complaining about wait times and staff attitudes. Yes the wait can be long, but hello! Its Portland! We love our cute cafes and local brunch spots so of course if you came at a popular time then youre gonna wait, the food is worth it in my opinion. As far as staff attitudes, I just dont see if. I used to go to school just up the street and frequented Sweedeedee on the regular. The girl behind the counter (Jennifer) made a point of remembering my name and was always sweet to me. In fact not once has any of the staff ever made me feel unwelcome or been even slightly rude to me (and they probably have to put up with a lot of Portland douchery). I havent been in a while because I moved farther out but every experience Ive had with Sweedeedee has always been that their food is delightful and their employees are happy. Seriously, eat some of their food. Gorge yourself on their amazing almond cake or delicious honey pie. Try the special sandwich of the day. You wont be sorry.

went to Portland for a weekend getaway with friends and drove straight to sweedeedee for what I read would be a great bite of food. It was a nice sunny day out, perfect for lunch, and all the outside seating was being used so I ordered a sandwich to go. I walked across the street for a beverage and made it back to sweedeedee and noticed all but one outside table was open, so I asked one of the employees if she would mind if I sat outside. She looked a little perturbed and stated "ok, but next time tell us so that we dont waste paper" and brushed past me. She was referring to the to go boxes the food was in. She gave me a sour taste in my mouth so I chose to eat in a little park just outside the restaurant. I wonder if I would have originally ate in and maybe hadnt finished my food and wanted to take leftovers home, would she have admonished me and said next time let us know so we dont waste real plates, silverware, and dish water. Needless to say I dont remember the food that well.

Traveling in a car is tough when your running a media production company. It was so nice to drop into a big, clean, friendly coffee shop with free, fast wifi. We were there for hours and only got a coffee, chai tea and some berry muffin that was more like a cake in size. One thing about coffee shops though...most of the employees loose a large spectrum of there hearing from all the grinding, blending, steaming and horrible acoustics. If your a shop owner, get a DB meter and check how much noise pollution your employees are experiencing daily. it might be more than construction sits allow without hearing protection....just a thought

I showed up for a late breakfast on a Thursday, and there was a solid twenty minute wait – so, needless to say, its a popular place in the neighborhood. The tables outside are great on sunny days, and the food is good – I had the Corn Cakes which had a nice flavor, but one of them was slightly overdone/burnt, so I lost a bit of the full effect Sweedeedee was likely searching. The meal came with two thick slices of crispy bacon (YUM!) and some "local greens" which were OK, just seemed like adequately done collared greens. There is a self-serve coffee pot, which was convenient for regular refills. I will be back!

Im from out of town and heard about this place from a local so I was super excited to try it out. Unfortunately, we waited around 20 minutes to have sandwiches that were the incorrect order, naturally we didnt mind waiting to have the issue fixed. However we waited another 30 minutes and we still didnt see our order. We asked for refunds and received them with no apology. I understand that this joint is a quaint spot where food takes time to make, however no egg sandwich should take over half an hour to make. I wanted to like this place because of the music and great reviews, but was sorely disappointed.

Had an excellent brunch here last weekend. Ordered the Good Buddy sandwich and an elderflower spritzer. Though the spritzer was a little heavy on the lemon juice, it was fresh, and anything with an elderflower base always tastes refreshing! The meat in the sandwich was incredibly tender and juicy, enough to result in the bottom half essentially turning into a kind of French dip. Ultimately I had to resort to utensils. Still good, nevertheless. The pickled vegetables side could have been more bountiful, but the plate was already almost too much to eat. Will be back to try some of the other menu items!

Sweedeedee is like many Portland brunch spots: youd better be ready to wait. The set up is a little unfortunate- you order at the counter, and then you pay, and THEN you wait to be seated. This leaves the tiny house fairly crowded, but while you wait, you can enjoy the quaint and endearing decor and general vibe. You can drink coffee out of hand made mugs and water out of mason jars. By the time you do get seated and then get your food, its worth it. The bread is delicious and the dishes are savory and farm fresh. Dont come hungry and by the time you are, youll be happy you came.

Unique and creative menu with a country diner flair. Ordered the bakers breakfast after much deliberation (I swear, everything on the menu looked incredible!) and was quite satisfied. Also took a piece of their honey and whiskey cake to go, and will now be digging thru the annals of the Internet to find a comparable copycat recipe, it was phenomenal. Would recommend to anyone with a bit of time on their hands (limited seating, and I visited in the middle of Sunday brunch time), especially to folks visiting the University of Portland or other locations in North/Northeast Portland!

I stopped by on a Friday morning and the restaurant was full of people. I ordered a slice of pie and a pot of tea. I was told that Id have to stand with my pie until I ordered something from the kitchen and could be seated. I saw an unoccupied place at a counter seat and requested to sit and "eat my pie quickly". I was begrudgingly accommodated. The pie crust was burned on the bottom and dry. The filling was good. Im disappointed with my experience and decided to go elsewhere for the rest of my brunch.
