We have been to this place several times and have always enjoyed it and have recommended it to many people. However, today, January 31, 2017 I went to lunch with three other ladies. We arrived at 1:30. We were seated right away but everything went downhill from there. After waiting about ten minutes, I stopped a server and told them we had not been waited on as yet. Our server finally came over and we ordered drinks, two coffees ( one regular, one decaf) and two hot teas. At that time we ordered our lunch, it is now about 1:50. The coffee came about 7 minutes later, however, the teas did not come until about 2:15. My friend asked if the server if she had to go to a China for the tea, she said they were busy in the bakery so it took a while to get it ready. Excuse me, 25 minutes to pour hot water into a pot and bring it to the table, plus the tea was not hot!!! We finally got our food at about 2:30. I love the French Onion soup and order it frequently. Today it was mediocre at best, I was very disappointed. My sister and I split the Monte Carlo sandwich. It was very dry, with no Dijon mustard in site. My friend had an omelette with tomatoes and artichokes and gluten free toast. Her omelette was cold and the artichokes tasted like the can and she never got her toast. When the server finally came back to check on us, my friend told her to just forget the toast. We asked the server if we could go to the bakery and pick out dessert and put it all on the one bill, she got so flustered that our friend just asked her to close out the bill and she would pay separately in the bakery. I do need to say the restaurant was not that busy. I will tell you had this been my first visit, I would not ever come back. I am hopeful that our next visit will be back to your usual standard.

Chocking attitude. This happened on Thanksgiving I called the store around 9AM and asked when they close, they said 3PM. Me and my family were invited to friends house at 3PM, so we decided to buy a cake from La Province (Orenco) right before going (between 2 and 3PM). I was there 2.35pm, I went inside and a guy told me, sorry we are closing. I said but you confirmed to me you are open till 3? He went and asked another lady who seemed to be a manager, she was still doing some stuff and she said NO we are closing. I tried to tell her I just need a cake, and cakes were sitting in front. She said "We are closing, period!". I was chocked and told her, I called and you confirmed to me you will be open till 3PM and now I cant find any store open. She said, we did not receive any customer the last 2 or 3 hours, so we decided to close earlier and employees went to enjoy dinner with their families etc..I was like, I am happy for them but this is a different topic. You confirmed to me you will be open till 3, based on that I made arrangement to come buy a cake so that I enjoy my dinner as well with my family and friends..she said "thank you for your understanding" This is the last time I will go to La Province, and I am going to suggest to all my coworkers who go there very frequently because it is close to work, not to go anymore.

Tarnished experience. Bartender "Ash" snapped at my date and I for no reason. Look, I work in customer service, and completely understand that if a customer is rude, its okay to be aggressive with them. However, I was light and not even the slightest bit aggressive in my legitimate complaint. I have been coming here regularly over the past few weeks and this really really tarnished my experience. I received my order, and very kindly asked the bartender to let the kitchen know that there was zero salt in my scrambled eggs. She snaps at me, "thats why we put salt on the tables, so you can salt your own eggs." You cant just salt scrambled eggs. (Also, what kind of French kitchen cant make proper French oeufs brouilles?) Also, they were loudly discussing "creepy regulars." in front of a busy bar. Also, whats with the used car salesman prowling the restaurant, scowling at everyone? Is he the manager? Unprofessional. ..Yes, I still tipped. No, she didnt deserve it.

Food is great but go to another location. They always either mess something up here or are just plain rude. Today they were busy which would be expected for mothers day but that doesnt excuse poor service. The employee waved my wife forward to pick out pastries and after quickly listing the first items, my wife paused while she was looking and the employee waved her arms in a gesture of hurry up and rolled her eyes. She then walked off and helped other customers and when she returned instead of asking politely if we had finished deciding she bluntly said, so what do you want. Some servers have been friendly in the past but literally every single time we go there is something wrong with the order, i.e. they forget pastries or coffee or to go boxes, or there is a moment like this where we are made to feel we are an inconvenience. Other locations seem to operate much more smoothly and with superior service.

Came here and waited over an hour. Which was fine because we had a larger group and they were busy. When we were seated the service was very slow there. A few of us ordered the mimosas flight and they were half full. By the time we were done with our food the place was empty and we were still waiting for our bill. The waitress started placing candles on the tables and started getting our table ready while we were still sitting and talking. It was very rude of her to reach over our heads and grab the sugars to replace them With the candles to get ready for dinner time. We were there in a total of 4 hours. It was horrible service once we were seated. The food was delicious, but I care about service that should come along with it and we didnt receive that.

"take yourself out on a date and feel the difference after" this was advice given to me by one of my close friends. and it was an awesome idea! i rarely go here at la provence. mostly just to grab some macaroons. but today decided to make it my last stop for the day. at first it felt weird eating dinner here on my own. but the staff was very accomodating and made me feel comfortable as best as they could ^^ they made sure my orders were to my liking and the food was great. the entrée was tender and had good balance in flavor. the dessert was sweet but not too sweet and it was (whats the word?) smooth (?) presentation was beautiful and my server,Mark.was very accomodating.

If you are sensitive to salt, this is not the place for you. Portion size for the price was ok. Service was average at best. Since it was not busy, we thought getting our meal should have been quicker. But hey, we dont mind waiting for better than average food.... Sadly, this was not the case. Shouldnt a French place serve the best French Onion soup? Thank goodness for the mozzarella cheese on top to kill some of the saltiness..... should it be Swiss? Anyway, maybe we just picked bad breakfast choices? The place was beautifully decorated, and the pastries look like they taste good, but we didnt try them. Maybe we can try lunch and a dessert... But Im not running back.
