Although french fries are Belgian in origin, this casual French restaurant makes some amazing french fries. Pay the extra buck for the truffle oil and prepare yourself for perfectly crispy fries that are absolutely addictive; I wanted to stop eating them, but couldnt help myself! My dining partner, Alyce, and I shared an Assiette Chasseur plate which came with a large slab of pâté, mustard, and pieces of baguette. The pâté was great although more bread wouldve been nice, since we werent even halfway through the pâté when it ran out. Afterwards, I had the delicious Quiche Lorraine (bacon, onions, Gruyère) which had a crisp, yet soft crust. Alyce loves brie so she got the daily special: the French burger with brie, which came with three large, gooey slices of brie. Sometimes burgers taste like an incongruous mixture of the drier and wetter ingredients, but every piece of this burger from bread to patty came together to create a perfectly juicy confection. The desserts were good, but didnt blow us away. Alyce had the molten chocolate cake which was a chocolate cake with melted chocolate on top. It did come with a homemade whipped cream made with nutmeg, which was actually quite refreshing. But the cake was nothing special. I had the crème brulée, which was passable. We had a great time and Im looking forward to trying the spicy lamb sausage sandwich on our next visit!

What brought you down yonder, you ask? Why, because Im too lazy to drive all the way down to South Bay, and my friend was too lazy to drive up to SF, I say. So, compromise we did, at this neat little French comfort food joint I found in San Carlos. And as it should, the menu reflected the typical offerings of a cafe, albeit slightly fancier: soups, salads, sandwiches and the like. I opted for one of their specials that day, the duck sausage white bean cassoulet with truffle fries on the side. And man, am I glad I did, because it was fantastically delicious. Quite salty, and increasingly so, as I ate it, but delicious nonetheless. A dish thats probably best paired with a loaf of bread, rather than fries though, to balance things out. As a pro-tip, show up before noon to avoid a line. That said, even the noon-time line wasnt terrible, and couldnt really have been more than a ten minute wait, for those who arent able to crawl out of bed any earlier. ***Accessibility Info*** Venue - While seating is limited, it, and the rest of the venue is all quite accessible. Bathroom - Didnt check them out, so no comment.

This is one of our favorite places to eat. The food is consistently fabulous, the quality on par with what one would expect at a fancy restaurant (Cuisinett is very casual; you order at the register). Everything we have tried has been very good. We dont eat much seafood, but relatives and friends we have taken have raved about the mussels. Ive mainly settled on the French brie burger (which used to be a regular "special" but they will still make it if you ask and they have brie). When we first visited, several years ago, we actually thought they werent charging enough for food that good. Apparently they eventually figured that out, because the prices have increased substantially since then. Nevertheless, Cuisinett still serves the best food available on the Peninsula at any price (to the extent of my experience).

When it comes to French food, the only thing Ive experienced so far are either a really expensive fine dining restaurant or a bakery. It was good to break the tradition and try out a French comfort food cuisine. For starters the service was excellent, the owners were super cordial and was patient to explain everything on the menu. As far as the food, I loved the spicy lamb sausage sandwich which I had, the brioche was fresh and it had the right amount of sauce. My wife tried the French brie burger which was alright, nothing special about it, but the best was the creme brulé, it had the right proportion of sugar, custard and eggs. If you are around the San Carlos neighborhood, this place is a must go!

Interesting take on a French bistro. Order at the cash register, food is served at your table. The wine labels for me were fairly unknown, but the owner allowed us to sample wines before we committed to anything - they were all pretty good! The food was the real star here though, French comfort food executed very well. My wife and I both loved our dishes - one shrimp, one chicken champignons. Meat was cooked _perfectly_. Pomme frites were cut a little thick, but were absolutely delicious. I think the best aspect were the sauces - outstanding. Hard for me to give more than "Good" on service without actually being waited on...

Came here for a nice lunch with co-workers. Had the moules frites which I was told is popular there. It is served with bread in a white wine sauce. I am more of a buttery sauce person so it didnt do much for me. But looking around at others meals all of the sandwiches and salads look great. I think if you are looking for a nice place to sit down and have a meal this is a solid option in San Carlos.

One of our San Carlos favorites, fantastic French comfort food, authentic and delicious, great variety from chicken, beef, seafood and vegetarian. Personal favorites are Steak Frites and their Quiches. Service is always excellent, the owner is almost always there and greets you personally in French he makes sure your meal is perfect. Great French Cafe!

One of my favorite places on the peninsula. The service is great, everyone is very attentive and the food always comes fast. I love coming here, alone or with with a company - always feel welcome, never rushed. Best mussels Ive ever had. I tried all four kinds on the menu - love them all, but Moutarde are my favorite. Got to get that recipe!

If I could give 10 stars I would. First, Geoffroy, the owner is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. He greets you when you come in and comes to your table to make sure everything is good. The food is always consistently good. The mussels and the burger are my favorite. All items are really yummy. They never disappoint.

We had lunch there with friends, and spent two hours (!) enjoying the food and conversation. The staff were very helpful, friendly, and patient with us for staying so long. The menu is good, the food is excellent, and the wine was very enjoyable. We highly recommend Cuisinett.

This is the place that opened my eyes to mustard. Always thought it was just a mediocre sandwich sauce prior to trying cusinetts rendition. Turns out, it can be amazingly tasty. Try the chicken with the mustard sauce. Smother the sauce all over. Its a winner.

This place was recommended by a friend and I was pleasantly surprised. Its conveniently located just off ECR and near the train station. Food is good and staff are very pleasant. You do need to place your order at the counter.

Delicious French bistro food in a casual environment. The bacon, mushroom, shallot sauce (champignon) is incredibly good. Try it with the pork chop or steak. My friends seemed to enjoy their quiche, too.
