We have been going to the local ever since it opened, I have to say the food is great never a complaint here but the service is terrible. The last three times Ive been there the wait staff was awful and this last Sunday was the worst. I sent my grand daughter ( shes 10 ) over to get an order to go. I just work across the street and felt it was safe. Well after 30 minute ( no exaggeration ) she still wasnt back I sent my grandson ( hes 11 ) over to check to see if they were busy, he reported back no, they were not busy so I had him go over to be with her, it had now been roughly 45 minutes since she left. Another 15 minutes go by so I went over. My Kids were sitting on the couch and not one of the staff had come over to help them. When I called the waitress over her answer to my question ( why no one had helped her was ) smugly, oh I thought she was just setting there, I mean really.. Poor excuse for a waitress!!! And then when she went to finally put our order in she was talking and laughing about us. I mean how rude. I know things are very causal and relaxed there but the wait staff are so unprofessional and its a shame because the food is really good but the service just sucks and we wont be back.

Excellent food! I am an avid eater of all things burger and would say this was hands down the best one Ive ever had. I had The Wilson. Which is a double bacon cheese burger sandwiched between two grilled cheese sandwiches. It was phenomenal. I also had the Local Cow Fries which was the only low point of the meal. It was apparent to me that the fries had been sitting out for a while and were served like warm and slightly dry, that being said they were still very flavorful. The fried goat cheese balls are also incredible. The beer selection here is something special. With all organic microbrews some locally brewed in Oregon. I had the Free Range Red brewed right here in Portland. I have to say Im not a huge fan of red ales but this one was spectacular and paired very well with the fried goat cheese balls. I would strongly recommend this place to anyone looking for a very good burger and a lively atmosphere and friendly service.

Got here early, so was able to get good seats. Street parking, City of Gresham has public parking lot two blocks from The Local Cow. A very relaxed atmosphere with a great wait staff. It shares a door with neighboring restaurant. Seating is limited and when it gets busy, there can be a wait. Outdoor seating is available during nice weather and you can people watch. Food is very good, wide variety of options. The fries are yummy, I prefer the regular fries, but The Local Cow fries with garlic and crumbles is very good too. Good burgers, tasty and full of flavor. Toppings are standard but you can request other toppings too. I enjoy eating at this establishment, highly recommend. One of the restaurants helping to place quaint Downtown on the foodie map.

My family adores this place. Between the luscious burger patties, amazing toppings and combinations for the hamburgers, and the great french fries, I wish I could eat here every day. Alas, it is a bit on the heavy and greasy side-- always good once in a while. Im intolerant of many food items these days, but I can still have El Chupacabra burger with a gluten free bun and be pretty happy. My sister-in-law often gets the special without asking whats on it, because they have amazing ideas and combinations for burgers every week. They also share a patio with the brewpub next door, and they carry a few canned beers that we have loved! I highly recommend it!

I have been going to the Local Cow for a few years now! Not only is the food absolutely delicious ( especially the Cow Fries) but the ladies who work there are so nice and provide great service. I often go there by myself and they are very courteous without making me feel pitiful. The blackcherry soda or lemonade is good for kids and their cider/beer selection is awesome! I love their sliders but also recommend the larger burgers.Good atmosphere ( they are always playing good music its almost freaky) Cannot say enough good things about this place!

Great place. Badass burgers. Pretty good service. One major draw back: THE SALT! Holy crap they are over kill with the salt. You guys need to chill out with the salt. You have good food but you are doing it a disservice by piling on the salt. We literally have to brush the salt off the fries manually so they are edible. Why promote healthy locally sourced ingredients when youll have a heart attack from all the salt? Please put less salt. It should be up to the customer if they want to kill themselves with sodium.

I think there is confusion as to what is supposed to happen here if you sit outside in the middle of local cow and Hoppy brewery. Stand inside and order your food and tell them you are sitting outside. I think that the outside space is actually Hoppy Brewery. So Local cow waitresses are not going to come out and take your order. They will however bring your delicious food out to you. So sit back and enjoy good food, a great beverage from Hoppy Brewery and RELAX. Taco Tuesday is a great first time to try them out.

Food is good, Ive been about 5 times, the 2 times I went with my mother they never delivered her food either time, even when we spoke with the waitress twice about the issue and she never brought the food out. By the time the rest of us had ate our entire meal and we went to leave they had still charged her, argued with her, and refused to remove the food she never got from the bill; EVEN when she spoke with the owner. Maybe it was just 2 bad experiences, maybe its that they have terrible customer service.

Came here on a week night, sat outside between hoppy brewery and the local cow so we could order beer and tacos. Terrible customer service. Was told that they are not accepting Hoppy customers and they would let us know when we could order. After 45 minutes we went back in and were told the same thing. Another 10 minutes later and we sent someone else in to order. They were able to order but were given stale luke warm tacos. We were not impressed. Denying customers in any capacity is ridiculous.

I liked that it was next to the Hoppy Brewer, which has amazing beer. The crusty old hag that was working informed me that because we were Hoppy Brewer patrons,(they share space) that we had to wait for 45 minutes before ordering. She was very proud of herself too. Enjoyed being a jerk. The kind of place you eat once at, or in my case, not at all. - And there is no confusion. When you walk in from the Hoppy Brewer side and they turn you away while youre trying to order, its obvious.

Love, love eating at the Local Cow! My favorite burger there is the hawaii 503, it will not disappoint! Great local beer selection, cool atmosphere, attentive staff. The only thing that stops this from being 5 stars is the air conditioning. The AC could use a little boost especially on really hot days :) But the beer is nice and frosty and the fried pickles are divine so if you are cool with being a little warm dont let the AC stop you!!
