Went to Mavis Winkles in Twinsburg on 12/7/2013 for lunch. In a short time, they broke 2 critical health code violations (I included both violations below) with the food they tried to serve me. The clever waiter served my corned beef sandwich to the patron behind me. After the patron picked it up and noticed it wasnt his, he called the waiter back over to tell him he didnt order this, the waiter took it back to the kitchen, waited 20 mins and re-served me the same sandwich. When I confronted the waiter, he admitted to the critical error and thought it would be ok, he even added, "but I did give you fresh mashed potatoes". It wasnt until after I complained he would offer to replace my sandwich with a fresh one. I went directly to the GM. After getting an insincere apology, he offered to comp my meal. But what was there to comp? All I had was 2 beers. If a waiter had the nerve to serve me old food, what else could he do to my food after I complained? I didnt want to take that chance nor could I trust him or the GM. The GM then tried to blame the waiter for inexperience. I told him, I had the same waiter 3 months ago and had lousy service then. I didnt know it takes waiters 3 months to learn how to serve the food properly. Then the GM created another excuse, he said "Im having a hard time to get quality applicants. I only started 3 weeks ago and I have to work with I can get." What kind of excuse is that? Ive been a long time customer to both locations and I dont know if I can ever return or even suggest Mavis as a goto place. Ive had many great experiences here, but this one incident changed everything. The owners Bill & MaryJo Demopoulis were contacted durning this and have my contact info, still havent received a call or email. I left MaryJo a few voice mails and never received a call back or even an apology. 3717-1-03.2 (X) Returned food and re-service of food. Someone needs to inform top level management at Mavis Winkles that the State of Ohio has a law that prohibits smoking in public. I would not invite guests to my home and then expect that they would enjoy swimming in my backyard pool immediately after I urinated in it. In comparison to inhaling second hand smoke swimming in a pool full of urine can do less damage to ones health. Dont tell smokers of this view as they believe it is there inalienable right to urinate everywhere and anywhere they go. I am also curious if there is a direct link between narcissism and nicotine addiction as smokers should take heed in how non-smokers feel about breathing second hand smoke. I seem to have forgotten why I am writing this........ wait I remember - I was writing a review of Mavis Winkles, located in Twinsburg, Ohio. I wish I could of left a review on the food and service, unfortunately having to inhale nicotine smoke left a bad taste in my mouth as well as a black/yellow tar streak on my dinner plate.

Mavis Winkles is hot or cold. I have had good service and good food. Tonight it was bad food and really bad service. The place was empty, yet the drink and food took a very long time to get to the table. The server seemed like she couldnt care less. I can overlook that for good food. Not so much on this trip. The crab cakes were soggy sawdust. The fish and chips were cold and half cooked. What a waste of time and money. No wonder it was empty on a Friday night. Could be a great place, but needs new management, and new staff.

pretty good wings. thats the only thing I get there. they have a really good beer selection. the staff is really friendly but sometimes it takes a little while to get an order in and get it. usually not a big deal. but it is when you are on an hour break. I keep meaning to try some of the other things on the menu but cant resist the wings! ok. heres an update. Monday $2 tacos. tues $2 off burgers. weds 50¢ wings. all good. Ive tried a lot of different things off the menu and upped my review to 5 stars. the food here is really good

The waitress was visibly annoyed by the fact that I was asking for information about the beers available, and didnt know what a hefeweizen was. The coffee was unavailable long before closing time, so no Irish coffee, which is what I was looking forward to. The "Irish pub" feeling was not helped by the country music and tropical themed promotion. I would have been more forgiving if our server wasnt clearly irritated by having to deal with me. Just a generally unpleasant experience.

For semi-irrational reasons, I am a huge fan of Mavis Winkles. The food is not amazing. The decor is nothing unusual. But it has a great vibe. You can feel that the management/owners love their business. They are always looking for little special things to do like hosting a different music group or having a special menu item. Also, they have two different veggie burgers and both are good.

I had the fish and chips for lunch. Really good. Good coleslaw sauce, lets swap recipes, mine is a bit more vinegar/creamy/poppy seed based. mine works well with oily foods cuts through the fats. Your tartar sauce is really good too. would love to get those ingredients. Wishful thinking, right. Im not a competitor just a dad that love to cook. Will be back to try your large menu.

Well when bowl or plate isnt given with ribs makes no sense. Had to get up & get our own napkins. Ice melted in glass & last two glasses of tea where warm. Never ask others for refills or if we needed anything. Girls talking of disgust of something. Not appropriate time to do so.

I just ate here for the first time & I will be back! The food, atmosphere, service, & beer is superb! Although I live 2 hours away I will be back. Also had the chance to meet the owner while we were eating & he seemed to be a great guy. Cant wait to go back

Guinness on tap. Boxty is great. Cant go wrong with a trip to Mavis Winkles Irish Pub. Large and small groups are equally welcome. Dont believe the low reviews - once you try Macis Winkles youll be back many times.

Been there a few times to meet friends for a game or just have a beer after work. The food is pretty standard Irish pub fare, but its good. The beer is cold and the service is decent, too.
