I enjoy the take out from this place. Never had a complaint about it. The staff is friendly. Twice in all the times Ive been in there have I ever encountered another customer having a language barrier problem, mostly due to their own prejudices, Ive never had a problem. How hard is it to slowly, clearly say, "Kung pow chicken, fried rice, one quart of hot and sour soup?" Chinese food has been served here in the states for decades now, learn how to order it. The only issues this place has are related to their dining room. The lighting is poor and makes one feel that it is not as clean as reality The CFL light bulbs save money, but are unhealthy. I would only use them in an area that humans dont venture into regularly. They emit higher rads, make you feel sickly and nauseated, not a good thing. The art in the dining room also darkens the room further. The room needs to look bright and clean. The rear room looks dark and creepy, like the Boogy man lives back there. Its an eyesore, and not really utilized. If its not going to be used for something I would hang some curtains over it from the inside to hide it. One thing Ive noticed is that it feels like they need more people, an extra person to serve drinks and keep the warmers on the buffet warmer and the food hydrated with some extra water mixed in regularly. It looks like someone is trying to run the front counter AND do all of that. As a result, Ill serve myself drinks, which is Ok by me, until the soda machine needs maintained or the food gets dry/cold. Maybe they could deal with that language barrier thing by hiring a couple part time native English speakers to split the open hours, that way they could focus on the food and dining room. They season their food well, I always feel like other places skimp on the sauces. Not this place. You can taste the Hoisin sauce. They seem to be meat eaters, or think we are all meat eaters, because that is a focus on the bar, I feel like they could save a few dollars by blending in more vegetables, maybe keep it 50/50. They also could upgrade their salad with a few extra vegetables, make it more appetizing. If something is not eaten, perhaps replace it or omit it, especially if it is costly. If they wanted to, they could change their floors and walls, emphasizing a clean and well lit room, a mild renovation. New always attracts new. Hire a cashier, keep the take out good, and add a bit more time to the warmers and dining area service. Other than the few critiques Ive mentioned I really like the place and the people and will continue to order from there. Im happy to have them nearby. Also, The buffet needed serviced this past year and shut them down for a week, which hurt their business. Perhaps keeping spare parts on hand would be advisable.

Good food but I will never go back. On several different occasions I have been lied to about the price of a buffet to go. I was visiting at least once every week or two, getting the buffet to-go for a little bit more then the sit in price (which i dont understand but anyway). On certain days when I would see a new person at the register they tried to charge me anywhere from $2-3 dollars more then the price i had been paying for a week prior. The time that did it for me was when the lady sat there and argued with me that the price was changed a long time ago... I refuse to go back to a place that will straight lie to its customers. Unforgivable...

First let me say called about price of buffet and was told 3.50 for kids and 6.75 for adults. So went there place is dirty, plates at buffet had food on most of them, had to get my own refill and glad I did cause when waitress finally came to give girlfriend a refill she spilled it all over table and didnt clean it up. Go to pay and was charge adult pricing for are 10 year old twin boys and our 12 year old daughter. And when we said something she said they are adults. Maybe in China they are consider adults at 10 but in United States most restaurants thecut off is over 12. But oh well will NOT be back. And there was spiders in bathroom.

I have been coming here for the better part of 18 years. Its had its ups and downs over that time. But the buffet price and food quality are 2nd to none. While it is a smaller buffet the staff is always friendly and prompt and the food. Well no matter how many cities Ive traveled to and lived in Ive never found another like Hunan house. The rest just dont measure up unless you spend 5x the price. Love this place and will go here for as long as they keep pumping out this amazing chinese!

So gross. Dirty bathrooms with a terrible smell, no one got us drinks until 15 minutes after sitting down. All the food was scraps and most trays were almost empty. A lot was hard and cold from sitting all day, barely any options, ate something rock hard in the rice, dirty counters, our water WAS ON HER IPHONE talking on speaker when taking our food. Food tasted like frozen Chinese from the grocery. Im not picky but no wonder why it was $6.75. Ew.

I went there last weekend with my daughter and coworker, we ate I paid the bill went back to the table to get ready to leave and we heard a cat screaming, I ate there many times never complained always decent derive and a decent price, but after that I will never return. My daughter is 7 shes never heard the "rumors" she was asking where the cat was. I swear it sounded like a cat fighting or well I dont know, but I wont be back!

The food is amazing everytime I go. The plates are always clean before I eat. And most of the time afterwards too! Its at a great price and the staff is always cheerful. My favorite things they serve is the potatoes and the fried vegetable balls. I go the real the time and has become my number one place to eat Chinese. The decor and cubit ute could use some work but the food and service is great.

Hunan House is the best Asian cuisine around. Everything is always, fresh and hot. Sometimes the service can be a little slow, but they are always friendly. The Hot Sour soup is the best I have found in this area. Prices are very good for the value, it will not break your wallet. If you are within 15 - 20 miles of it, then go check them out.

Food is cold. Overly greasy. This was my second and last attempt with their buffet. Go somewhere else. The warming lamps are about 20 degrees below where they should be. Im not sure if the nausea is from the grease or the food that’s cool enough to start growing bacteria. Staff was fairly friendly. Decor is low end and wornout.

We have only had take-out but it has always been good. We have gotten take-out at least 5 times in the past 8 months. Would recommend this restaurant for sure. 5 years later...we still get take out at least once a month. Other than being completely disorganized (its sort of comical) when picking up an order, their food is still great.
