Great food but overshadowed by HORRIBLE customer service. Called early in the day to make a reservation, since their website says to call for same-day reservations. No one would answer the phone after repeated attempts over the course of an hour. Left a voicemail with my requested time and party size and asked for a phone call back for confirmation. Never got one. Then, called again and was told that voicemails are not a way to make reservations and the hostess had to speak with the manager to make sure they could accommodate my party. Got to the restaurant on time, was seated ahead of the rest of my party and was never approached by any wait staff to order a drink/appetizer while waiting on the rest of my group. My group arrives and the service is slow all evening. We finally order and everyone gets their food, except for me. I have to bring this to the waiters attention after 15 minutes, and he says hell check the kitchen. They didnt have my order. He apologizes for the mix-up in the kitchen, albeit with no sincerity. The waiter continues to go back and forth from the bar and the restroom, with no apparent concern about the delay. My food comes out after the rest of my group had finished eating. Oh, and did I mention that the whole reason we got together was to celebrate my birthday? Thanks for making it an evening to remember, Trappeze. I will be calling management tomorrow to express my displeasure.

So good!! I consider myself a foodie. Making and eating food occupies a huge portion of my life. This is some of the best food I have ever had. Cant wait to go again and try more of their menus. Their drink list is extensive, but I wasnt blown away by any of the local options. And the drinks are all a good $2-3 more than I think they should be even at a pub. But I would have been completely fine with paying 2-3 times as much for the food (entrees are in the $15 range, and I would have been fine with more like $30-40). So, all in all, still a pretty good value. EDIT: Went back a second time and it was nowhere near as good. Steak frites was *way* over salted and had a massive chunk of gristle in it (see attached photo; if it was my meal, I would have sent it back); trout was quite a bit too sweet and not perfectly browned like last time (still good, but the last time I went they literally served the best piece of fish I have ever had; this was far from that). Maybe it just depends on who is cooking the day you go. Server was also fairly rude towards the end. Maybe the end of her shift? Definitely deserves -1 star for the second time, and we probably will not be going back.

It hurts me to rate this so place low. But last night I had the worst service. I normally order the veggie reuben but I decided to branch out and get the vegan Caribbean fried rice (for $12...its a joke. How can you call something fried rice without soy sauce...or...OH, FRYING THE RICE?!?!) I asked the server for a menu again after the food was brought out, which I was a server for years, and thats a clear sign that your guest wants to order something else. She never came back til we were ready for our check. I wasnt even going to ask for a refund for the entree because thats my fault I didnt like it. But...why wouldnt you come back to check on your guest who asked for a menu? Not very attentive service, and my dish was awful and not worth the $12 we paid for it. The beer and drinks here are 5 stars! So come here for drinks, but just order at bar and skip the painfully slow, unattentive service.

After not getting in on a Saturday night, we were excited to try the restaurant on a very slow Sunday. Disappointing sums it up the most. I had the Pork taco, burger slider with fries. None of it was warm when it arrived. The burger was tough and cold the taco just so so. Cold fries are never good in my opinion. The old bay popcorn was chewy with little flavor. The only thing good was the cheese. It was pricey for 2 small pieces at $9. The server was very nice. The baby roaches in the bathroom really turned my stomach. The entire restaurant seemed dirty. Our bench had crumbs etc on it. The table sticky. We did mention the roaches to the hostess who we had to search for because what seemed like the entire wait staff was on a mobile phone off in the hall between the bar and restaurant. Her reply indicated she didnt care. It makes me wonder how it got good reviews.

Trappeze Pub is world class for beer selection. Service is friendly and if you avoid football weekends it is completed relatively fast. Only time in 5-6 years that we had problems our food was free. Parking tickets are given for every $15 spent, so most of your cost at the Public Parking Deck 1/2 block away is covered. We have been coming for many years since this establishment opened as a small pub (atmosphere is still there as it has expanded a lot in last 5 years). Trappezes great pub food and great beers (always a new draft beer to sample) have made our "First One Today: Athens Social Club" a success for almost a decade in the past and will continue for many more years in the future. Eric Johnson does it right.

The draft list here is unbeatable. Its like 30 beers long and they are all really awesome and interesting beers, not just the normal fair. There regular bar stuff - wines l, liquors, cocktails - are all solid as well. Food wise Trappeze is great. Everything is flavourful and well prepared. My favorites are the sweet potato fries woth garlic aoli dip, the pub burger, and the pork tacos. Deserts are ok, not their strength though imo. Anyway, I have never had anything bad here. Lastly I like the ambiance. Its quieter at Trappeze as its not some rowdy bar with stupidly loud music. You can actually have a conversation here.

Trappeze is awesome, in short. Its a great date night spot that wont break the bank, but its a big step up from most casual eateries. A perfect restaurant for DT Athens. The salads are awesome, but the real star of the show are the Belgian fries with Raspberry Ketchup- they are heavenly. Their sandwiches and other pub food are also excellent choices, but if they have one item that truly stands out among the rest, its the fries. They also have a very good selection of beer, though the local selection is lacking. Guaranteed to have something you havent tried and will probably like! Awesome restaurant!

Being from Athens and eating here since you guys have opened, especially enjoying it all quiet summer long, we were extremely surprised to be accosted at the door for IDs. We are 30+ and coming to eat dinner. The girl at the door was incredibly rude about it. Local businesses please dont forget your local customers when the students come back. I had never been IDed to come into Trapeze for dinner on a weekend or otherwise and am unaware of any change in laws. Majorly disappointed.

TERRIBLE service. Our server was unnecessarily rude to our table - to the point that one person in our party canceled his order and left. Parts of our order was never brought out, our waitress was scarce and made it hard for us to order drinks or let her know we didnt get everything, and we sat for thirty minutes before our order was ever even taken, despite the fact that there were only two other tables in the restaurant at the time. Not a place Id recommend
