When first suggested as a dining location I was skeptical. "Old Bag of Nails?" I thought it was a run down dive bar trying to be trendy but I was surprised after visiting the place. The decor is a mix between old-world rustic and a local bar which is actually very inviting. As I browsed the menu I was having difficulty finding something that looked inviting. I am eating healthy foods than I used to and staying away from all the fried, fatty, greasy, and massively-portioned dishes and enjoy dishes that use non-traditional ingredients. Although I probably good have built my own chicken sandwich, nothing else directly from the entree menu seemed very appetizing -- and I am not big on salads. If I do eat a salad it has to be spinach (which they do have so I might have to try it the next time I visit). I then remembered that I sometimes just choose smaller items from the appetizer menu as my meal -- even though many restaurants appetizers are, today, meal-portioned and priced. Something immediately caught my eye: Mussels and Shrimp. A pound of mussels and jumbo shrimp (with the tails) steamed in white wine, butter, spices, and with garlic bread. I was intrigued even though I am not excited about butter. When I received the dish it was definitely dinner-portioned but considering it was shelled seafood it would definitely be a healthy option either way. I was extremely surprised! The mussels -- which I expected to be small, shriveled, and tasteless -- were excellent quality for a bar. The shrimp were cooked perfectly -- all the way through but still with a crispness to them. Finally the spiced white wine butter sauce was to die for! A great blend of spices that popped but didnt overpower the wine or butter flavors. I normally would try to leave as much butter sauce as I could at the end but I admit I was soaking it up in the bread. Other restaurant and bar patrons were looking over at my dish and one guy who passed buy said "That looks amazing!" Sometimes it works out better to order off the appetizer menu. The service was great as well. Seated quickly and the waitress was very kind and checked up on us without being a bother. Definitely a place I would recommend -- even for the health-conscious consumer they will find a few items that they can enjoy.

They have a very good menu, I have been here about 6 times and everytime I get something new because the way they make the food is great. The fries are the best adn the Natual sirloin, is better than anything on the menu.

5+ years ago I would have give them 5 stars. Since they have cheapened food and no longer make their own dressings. Ultimately theyve sacrificed quality to increase profits and open more locations.
