I just wanted to bring to the attention of management the horrible dining experience I had last night at your Columbus, Ohio location. To breakdown all of the customer service failures please see the list below: -Waited at the bar for a beverage for five minutes without being greeted. The manager was wiping off the open bar stools in front of me with no acknowledgement. The bartender looked at me and then walked in the opposite direction. -When arriving at the table the light above our table was flickering. We asked if this is something that we could have fixed or maybe turn the light up or down to prevent the flickering. The server informed us that there is nothing she could do about the lights and we would need to work through it. We asked to move and she seemed frustrated with the request. -Upon moving to a new table the server took over ten minutes to collect our drink order (combine sodas, beer and saki). -Understandably our group of patrons drink their beverages quicker than most, but the server actually took our second round of drinks and did not return for 15 minutes. This came to the attention of the chef who actually went and got the attention of the server to return to the table. At which time the server had to ask us again what we were drinking. -We ordered two steamed rice, both of which were delivered by the server after we had completed our main courses. All in all this was more than likely the worst dining experience I have had in a very long time. For a company that prides itself on customer service and customer experience this was a enormous let down. Had it not been for the chefs great personality we would have walked out. I have had better experiences at fast food, for a fraction of the cost. At the end of the night this was a waste of $180.00 and a horrible birthday experience. Needless to say but we will not be dining at your establishments ever again.

I would respectively like to question the reason why our waitress had to inform us right before we left how the tipping system worked. I do not understand the need for that information and the information on how their salary was based on my tip. As an activist I do not believe in tipping. I do not think that it is the costumers responsibility to pay the wages of the people who serve us. The server did not cook our food, did not make our drinks, and did not help in any of the preparation of anything we consumed. Yet, we are somehow responsible for paying 20% of our meal to accommodate for the underpayment of our server. None of us thought the server deserved more that 10%. She did not refill our drinks, she did bring out our soups and salads until we had sat there for 20 minutes, and she did not check on us until she gave us our bill and explained how she would only receive a fraction of the tip. I do not care. If it wasnt good service on her part I do not believe that she should have any of the tip. In fact I believe that the tip that I paid should have went entirely to the chef because he is the one who spent an hour cooking our food. In other words we were guilted into paying more because we did not want to underpay the chef. I do not appreciate in paying more for service that was not necessary or service that is faulted with the company. I will not be dining here ever again thank you for the terrible service.

we went saturday night and had a table of 8.....the chef was good and funny...but screwed up several things as well as did the back....we ordered sushi and halfway through we were like het we ordered sushi for an appetizer and its still not here so wed like to cancel and sure enough he went and checked and they brought it out anyway...they then didnt fix enough fried rice which the entire table ordered because he thought 2 ordered steemed and of course it was birthday girl....he then didnt put on enough chicken so after she waited for fried rice another set had to end up waiting for chicken and it screwed up everything....they then charged 2 of our bills for extra pops but we caught it and to top it off they took fried rice charge of the birthday girls dinner and when we asked for a manager the waitress rolled her eyes and we nvr saw anyone else so wd have made our last trip....

Im a big fan of Hibachi and always thought Benihana was the benchmark that started the whole Hibachi trend. I went for the first time ever at lunch here and was seated at a very cramped table full of people already. It took about 30 minutes from the time I arrived (which my group was the last to the table) for the chef to come out to cook. I ordered filet and paid to upgrade my fried rice w/ chicken. The fried rice had like 2 tiny pieces of chicken in it, and the filet was cut into 4 pieces without any kind of seasoning.... not even some soy sauce. The chef also cooked the food in the most bizarre order, so the 2 other people in my group got their food about 15 minutes apart. Im very disappointed and will not be returning here, Ill go to the other Hibachi places in the area that are cheaper and have fantastic tasting food.

Is this under new management? This was by far the worst experience we have ever had at Benihana and we have been numerous times to this location and others. The hostess ignored us as we walked in the door, then asked huffily if we had a reservation. We did not but it was just before noon and the place was empty. Our waitress was friendly but the service was very slow. Our chef seemed as though he was new and the food was not quite up to par as far as seasoning and timing, although he was very nice as well. When we were done the manager came to box up our food because our waitress was too busy, and while at the table she answered her cell phone and took what seemed like a personal phone call. Overall we were disappointed in the food and the slowness, it took us probably 1.5 hours to be sat, served, and pay at lunchtime.

by far the worst experience I have Ever had at a restaurant. I had to ask my server 3 times before getting a refill. One time out of the THREE he brought the couple next to me their 3 refill of water. Not to mention was there for 25 min before got soup then another 10 min before we got our salad. Our chef was VERY dull dont think he smiled one time. Also took him 40 min to cook our meal. My son had his kids steak before we ever got our fried rice. Also the shrimp was very tasteless, and the steak had too much pepper. Typically am not one to complain about a restaurant and pretty happy go lucky person but this was over all AWFUL!!!Stay Far away from this place!!!!!

Reservation at 7:30 pm, Friday, 2/10. Received table around 8:10. Waiter was not on top of it, drinks took around 15 minutes, were not kept filled until late into the meal. Food wasnt great...very salty, chef didnt have everyones meal prepared at the same time. In addition, many more vegetables would be a great asset to the meal. Meal took a very long time. One couple had to leave due to the amount of time everything was taking. Over all...just wasnt a good meal. Wanted to give my soon to be 18 year old daughter this wonderful experience Ive had at other hibachi restaurants. Paid a premium price for a poor experience.
