10:45 am. Staff was very inattentive. I just wanted to while away some time snacking on fries and having a beer, sitting outside. I ordered a basket of sweet potato fries and some beer. The waitress didnt know what beer they had, but thats okay since I looked at their selection in the fridge and chose one. Not that I had much option, was all pale ales and IPAs but thats okay. I wanted to sit outside, but they have a self service pickup counter so I waited inside. I waited for 5+ minutes, walking around. I grew restless and let the waitress know that Ill be sitting outside and asked her to let me know when my order was ready; she said the PA system can be heard outside and theyll let me know. I waited for another 20+ minutes for a basket of fries, went back in to check, and apparently they didnt know about my order at all. After letting them know it took less than a minute to get my fries, but they gave it to me in a go box with no condiments, and the only condiments they had was pump operated tomato ketchup. Overall a terrible experience, and I would not recommend this place. It looks good from the outside which is why I tried it. Never again. Edit. Added a star cause the fries are good (Im still sitting here).

Ive been visiting the Cameron Village location a couple times a month for about four years; and Im not sure what location others are referring two when they say its changed. This one has very infrequent staff turnover, a mostly constant menu, etc. A clean yet warm cabin style deli, with wholesome and tasteful foods, and friendly service. Even the kitchen staff knew my name after just a few trips. Its exactly the right speed for casual morning and afternoon dining. Also, if you are a health conscious diner with a type-a personality like me, youll know what I mean when I say that everything you are eating is identifiable. Whether you get a salmon sandwich with mango chutney on ciabatta for lunch, or a turkey hash for breakfast, youll still be able to easily identify all the whole foods that went into your meal. Frankly, its all just right at the price. Granted, I pay more attention to my food than its price, but how reviewers think a price comparison to McDonalds is relevant is beyond me. Crazy-talk. My only complaint is their breakfast hours. They have a creative daily breakfast menu, but open late on Saturday (10:30am), dont serve breakfast on Sundays, and have a pretty firm breakfast cutoff time on weekdays.

The Village Deli is always at the top of their game. The food is served fast and it is always delicious. The Village Deli never fails to make a meal wonderful. The employees are absolutley wonderful. They are always welcoming and take orders with a smile on their face! The manager is always trying to strike up a friendly conversation to any of the customers. The Village Deli is always the place to go. There are always people in there talking about how delicious the food is. I am always happy when i go in there. I have many favorites and you can get free refils that are thirst quenching. The food is not only outstanding but it is clean as a button. The inside is nice with a rustic atmosphere. As a customer of the Village Deli for many years i know that they are very consistent and the prices are always perfect. I would highly reccomend this resturant for it has such a variety of food anyone would like it!! For it is the best in the world!!

a few years ago the village deli (cameron village location) was one of my favorite places to get a sandwich. i ate there today for the first time in months, as i felt like it started to go downhill once the menu started expanding (and adding more and more grill items). my turkey sandwich today was terrible. it was so dry it was unbearable to eat. the meat was awful and definitely prepackaged and just thrown sloppily between two pieces of bread. i was really disappointed and will not be going back again. ever since the revamp and ever expanding menu, the village deli has not been the same. i miss the old village deli with the hippie employees that made amazing sandwiches.

I went there for lunch and found hair in my food. When I took it back, the woman packaging the food, to whom the hair belonged, wouldnt even acknowledge me. When someone finally came to the window, he just took the food and gave me more. There was no apology, no refund offer, NOTHING. Needless to say, I did NOT eat it, and of course I wrote a letter addressed to the manager. The website has several different people listed as manager, so I dont know who the current or real manager is, but whoever s/he is, they never responded to me. I wont be going back there, and unless you like hair in your food, I suggest you do the same

I ordered the black and bleu burger. The service was friendly, but the food was sub-par. The burger was served on comically-large plates, which were filled halfway with crinkle cut fries and a sad-looking burger. The bun was straight out of the (no more than .99 cent) bag. The fries were OK, but you could tell they got them from the Food Lion next door and that there was no special prep to them. The burger had no sauce, was only a miserly pinch of Gorgonzola, a cut tomato, and lettuce. Nothing else. It cost just under 24$ for two of those underwhelming burgers and one fountain drink. I would not recommend this place.

I hated to give such a low rating, but I have lost count of how many times Ive gotten home and they either shorted me of food, or given me the wrong order. Then I have to come back up and get my money back or wait longer for them to correct their errors. I have been eating here for years but they lost a good customer. Never once did they offer my money back for making me wait 40+ minutes to remake food they messed up on.

Whenever in doubt, Village Deli is my go-to lunch place. Their extensive menu is certain to please everyone. For those searching for gluten free, they are remarkably adept at making sure that almost everything on the menu has a gluten free version. Separate gluten-free fryer, fried fish and shrimp use rice flour, several bread options- its very impressive. Yummy vegetarian options. Also, best tea in town.

The food is awesome. It is a bit on the pricey side, but its well worth if you like some quality food. They have raised the prices recently, but its still great food. The staff there are friendly and intelligent. Most of the girls always smile. One of them barely acknowledges you are there. And one of the guys that makes food always looks grumpy. However, great atmosphere and great management.

We absolutely adore ALL the food @ Village Deli and grill. The owner is very present and customer friendly. The workers always have great suggestions about what to try. This Deli out shines all the rest. The food what can I say about the food. You see the 5 stars I gave the Deli, that says it all. Leah and Ac are their number one FANS.
