I dont entirely dislike this place but I would like to give 2.5 stars - if I could. The name to me is deceiving because none of the food here reminds me of how its served in New York or how it tastes. Several bad breakfast experiences here have resigned my usual order to just a plain bagel with cream cheese, in which case I have to ask for extra cream cheese or it comes with barely any, which is not indicative of NY style. When trying them out at first, I ordered an omellete which came burnt (dark brown is burnt in my opinion as it should be fluffy and yellow) and hash browns barely cooked with no flavor. My BF ordered a PEC SP on a kaiser. You couldnt even tell that there was food on the kaiser when it came to the table, he literally opened it up to make sure it wasnt plain to behold one crusty non runny egg and the thinnest slice if pork roll I have ever seen. Go to NY, order that, and you get a monster sandwhich, with nice sliced and several slices of pork roll with a delicious runny egg that you probably cabt finish. After that, I tried hoagies here, but what NY style deli doesnt offer Oil & Vinegar. I was shocked. No OV?? So that was the end of that. Aside from that.. the staff is nice and the drink coolers are well stocked. There is a lot of indoor seating as well as several spots outside.

My husband and I have been by here at least 3 times a week for the past 3 weeks. I dont believe in writing a review after only one visit. Our first visit was fine, the customer service was nothing to write home about, but wasnt horrible. After that we have had to walk out on more than one occasion. The last time we did, there were 5 employees walking in and out of the back, no one greeting anyone. Looked like there were 2 customers waiting on food (not an issue) but there were 9 people in line, no one was greeted and we witness 5 of them walking out and then after several minutes of us just standing there (almost 10) we walked out as well. No one was taking orders. We went in again today. The girl taking our order was in a daze. We watched 2 separate people walk in and stand at the counter for over 3 minutes before being greeted at all, even though there were 4 employees within 10 feet or less of them. I will say that the food is awesome and has been everytime I have been able to get food.

My husband and I are always looking for new places to eat... the staff was friendly. We placed our order. Bagel with bacon egg & cheese, also a grilled chicken wrap.... my husband asked for the bacon crispy, it was stringy and mostly fatty - not crispy at all and the bagel was the smallest bagel we have ever seen.... WOW... dunkin donuts has bigger bagels..... the chicken wrap was very small as well, and i dont think they washed the lettuce, it was gritty like eating dirt... nothing came with the wrap except for a small quarter size pickle... McDonalds chicken wrap is way bigger than what they offer for the same price.... there were no lids for our fountain drinks..... needless to say we will not be back ever.... if you are hungry you really should go somewhere else..... no bang for the buck... its more buck with no bang....

Ive been visiting New York Bagels & Deli for several years now. Its a good place to meet for a business/coffee meeting, or to grab a bagel and coffee to go. My favorite is the salt bagel with cream cheese, but my family usually gets a bacon/egg/cheese or egg/cheese/tomato breakfast sandwich on a specialty bagel. The food is consistently good. The counter service can be confusing for new guests, and the Sunday morning after-church crowd can cause a bit of a wait; but its worth it! They also have a deli/meat counter for sandwiches, but Im a slave to my salt-cream cheese, so Ive never tried their lunch options.

I swear this is not a joke. I got a tub of spoiled vegetable cream cheese. I stupidly sampled it and threw up. I went to return it and was told "you be actin a fool." The employee refused to taste it. She tried to get the others to taste it and they all refused. I finally convinced them to give me money and she asked how much it was. I was in disbelief that this employee didnt know how much the food was. She ended up throwing my change and bills all over the counter.

Went here with my dad on our lunch break a while back. Service was subpar, no rye bread even though the sandwich was listed on rye. I had an Italian that had nothing that made it worth buying, I can make a much better Italian at home. Really disappointing as its just another restaurant to add to the list of crappy ones in Wake Forest. I wont be back.

The person who took my seem to have difficulty saying good morning after being greeted with good morning. I put in a specific order and given the complete opposite of what I asked for. No hand washing. there was a thick layer of dust on top of the machines. The food after it was completed correctly was delicious.

I used to go to the NY bagel in the outer banks I absolutely love a salt bagel with cream cheese. I red previous reviews and was a little nervous to go in. Well I did today and the customer service was great and so was my bagel. I will go back!!!!

Seriously love this place. Best deli around! Makes me think of the awesome delis and their selection back in Massachusetts. I definitely recommend the Nova Lox. One of the best bagel and lox Ive had in a while.

The guy who took my order was great. Greeted me as I walked in and started up a conversation. The menu was easy to read, atmosphere and chill and the food was great. Will definitely be back

The staff need to be retrained the food is great but sometimes they bring you the wrong food, there are long lines, some staff members just appear to be doing nothing and talking

Everything that I have had there is awesome. Under new ownership in the past 12 months and you can definitely tell they care about their customers and customer service.

Locally owned chain. I love the service & real bagels. Subs are full. Cream cheese selection is fresh daily.

The closest thing to a NY bagel in the South, plus fast and simple service, a gem in Wake Forest
